PlayStation Confirms New 60-Minute State of Play Event This Week [1]
Sony has confirmed that a new State of Play presentation will take place later this week.
The event will air on Thursday, February 12, at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm GMT. Sony says the show will last more than 60 minutes.
According to Sony, the presentation will include “news, gameplay updates, and announcements from game studios across the globe”.
The publisher also explained what fans can expect to see. The showcase will feature “eye-catching third-party and indie games headed to PS5, along with the latest from teams at PlayStation Studios”.
The previous State of Play was a Japan-focused special, held in November 2025. That event showed games such as Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake, Octopath Traveler 0, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, and Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows.
Before that, the last main State of Play took place in September 2025. It included updates on titles like Saros, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Battlefield 6, Nioh 3, and Marvel’s Wolverine.
Sony has already announced several first-party PlayStation games for 2026. These include Saros, which will release on April 30, Marathon, launching on March 5, MLB the Show 26, and Marvel’s Wolverine, which is planned for Q3 or Q4 of 2026. Sony is also publishing Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, developed by Arc System Works, the studio behind Guilty Gear.
Many third-party PS5 games are also planned. Upcoming titles include Pragmata, Monster Hunter Stories 3, WWE 2K26, Fatal Frame II Remake, Life is Strange: Reunion, Forza Horizon 6, 007 First Light, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, Phantom Blade Zero, and Grand Theft Auto 6.
Sony has not confirmed which of these games will appear during the show, but the long runtime suggests many updates and new announcements will be shared.
