With Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom being ever so present in the cultural zeitgeist, Zelda as a franchise is as popular as ever. That brings relatively high hopes on the upcoming anniversary in 2026. First released February 21, 40 years ago, the game has evolved way past the original 8-bit game.

This means there are many predictions for what we will get this upcoming Zelda birthday. Some predictions based on previous anniversaries, some more wish-like. 

Personally, I do not think we will get a new Zelda game this year after so many huge titles and the release of Age of Imprisonment. I do wish for a remake of one of the older Zelda games. Zelda 2 remake maybe? Keep the difficulty from god, please.
