😱 Ubisoft Hacked – R6 Players Suddenly Became Billionaires!
In a wild turn of events over the weekend, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege was hit by a major security breach, forcing Ubisoft to take all servers and the in-game marketplace offline while the issue was addressed. Hackers reportedly gained access to internal systems, leading to chaos in the live game environment. Accounts across all platforms were suddenly flooded with massive amounts of R6 Credits and Renown, with many players receiving roughly 2 billion credits — a sum worth approximately $13 million USD in real-money value based on standard store pricing.
Not only did players’ accounts show huge credit boosts, but ultra-rare and developer-only skins that normally aren’t available to the public were unlocked as well. On top of that, the attack appeared to impact moderation systems, with reports of random bans and unbans happening in real time — including bizarre messages displayed in the global ban ticker.
Ubisoft confirmed the incident and decided to shut down Siege completely while its teams worked to contain the problem. The publisher also stated that players would not be punished for any credits or items received during the breach, but that all transactions made during the affected window would be rolled back once services were restored, effectively reversing unauthorized purchases and inventory changes.
Servers have since been brought back online, but the in-game marketplace remains down as investigations continue and rollbacks are completed for affected accounts. The breach left many players both amused and confused — logging in to find themselves “billionaires” for a short time before the cleanup began — while Ubisoft works to fully resolve the fallout.
