Battlefield and Call of Duty Veteran Director Vince Zampella Dies at 55
Vince Zampella, head of Respawn Entertainment and leader of the Battlefield series, has died at the age of 55.
According to NBC Los Angeles, Zampella died in a car crash on the Angeles Crest Highway in Southern California. The car went off the road in the San Gabriel Mountains and hit a concrete barrier.
NBC reports that the driver died at the scene, and a passenger later died at the hospital. It has not been confirmed whether Zampella was the driver or the passenger. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Electronic Arts shared a statement saying:
“This is an unimaginable loss, and our hearts are with Vince’s family, his loved ones, and all those touched by his work. Vince’s influence on the video game industry was profound and far-reaching.
