Dead Island 3 Is in Development, Aiming for Early 2028 Release
Dead Island 3 is now in development at Dambuster Studios and is aiming for release in early 2028.
This information comes from financial documents shared by X user @bogorad222. The documents clearly name Dead Island 3 and say that development is now “moving at pace”.
According to the documents, “parts of the game are now in early production,” including feature design, character design, world design, and narrative. They also state: “The current predicted release window for the project is Q1/2 2028.”
Earlier this year, Dambuster Studios hinted at the game in a Steam post. “Dambuster Studios are already carving out what comes next,” the studio wrote. “For now, the details stay under wraps, the outbreak is far from over…”
If released in 2028, Dead Island 3 will arrive five years after Dead Island 2, which launched in April 2023 after a long and difficult development period.
Dead Island 2 was first announced in 2014 and went through many delays and studio changes. Dambuster Studios took over development in 2019 and completed the game.
Dead Island 2 was released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
