Studio Neon Giant Announced No Law, an UE5 Cyberpunk FPS
Neon Giant, the studio behind The Ascent, has announced its second game, called No Law.
No Law is a first-person shooter set in a cyber-noire city named Port Desire. The game is being made with Unreal Engine 5 and looks very different from the studio’s first game.
Players control Grey Harker, a former soldier who moved to Port Desire to live quietly and take care of plants. However, his peaceful life does not last long.
“When his peace is violently shattered, Harker must rely on his black-ops instincts and custom hardware to take back what was stolen and confront the city that wronged him”.
Port Desire is a port city built into a cliff. It was once beautiful, but is now filled with crime and excess. The city is described as a place of “neon sleaze” and full of strange people with unclear goals.
Players can complete missions using stealth or “unleash chaos in open combat”. Neon Giant says player choices will change how the story unfolds.
“Each playthrough reveals new possibilities, allies, and outcomes, making No Law an immersive shooter defined as much by its story and morality as its firepower,” the studio says.
“No Law represents the next step for us as a studio,” said managing director Claësaf Burén. “With The Ascent, we built a strong foundation for how we approach worldbuilding, systems and storytelling.
“This new project takes everything we’ve learned and applies it to a completely different kind of experience – one that’s bigger, more reactive, and more personal than anything we’ve done before.”
No Law is planned for release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. No release date has been announced yet.
