Hogwarts Legacy Is Free on Epic Games Store as Holiday Sale Begins

Hogwarts Legacy is now free to claim on the Epic Games Store for a limited time. Players can add the game to their library for free until December 18.

This free offer also marks the start of the Epic Games Store Holiday Sale. The sale runs until January 8 and includes discounts of up to 75% on many games.

Hogwarts Legacy was released in February 2023. It became the best-selling game of that year, selling more than The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The game has sold over 34 million copies and earned more than $1 billion in revenue.

Warner Bros. Discovery has confirmed that a sequel is in development. Former Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment president David Haddad said the sequel is a “very big priority” for the company.

He also said the new game will share some story elements with the upcoming Harry Potter TV series planned for HBO in 2026. The future of the series may still change, as Warner Bros. is linked to a possible acquisition by Netflix.
