Leon Kennedy Confirmed for Resident Evil Requiem in New Game Awards Trailer
Capcom has officially confirmed that Leon Kennedy will appear in Resident Evil Requiem. A new trailer was shown during The Game Awards, giving players a better look at the story and gameplay.
In the trailer, Leon arrives in a police car. He looks a little older and now has facial hair. A new description for the game says: “Experience terrifying survival horror with FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft, and dive into pulse-pounding action with legendary agent Leon S. Kennedy. Both of their journeys and unique gameplay styles intertwine into a heart-stopping, emotional experience that will chill you to your core.”
Leon’s return was partly spoiled earlier, because the PlayStation Store accidentally showed him in the game’s icon for players who pre-ordered the PS5 version. The screen also revealed that automatic pre-downloads will begin on February 25, 2026, ahead of the official release on February 27.
Leon has long been expected to return, as he was a main playable character in Resident Evil 2, 4, and 6. Resident Evil Requiem will be released on February 27, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC.
