According to Polygon, Escape from Tarkov officially reached version 1.0 last month, and with the December 1 update adding the final Endgame map, players finally gained the opportunity to complete the game in the truest sense of its name.

Today, Twitch streamer Tigz made history by becoming the first player in the world to officially escape Tarkov. But the ending he unlocked is far from a fairy-tale finale.

During a livestream watched by tens of thousands, Tigz fought his way across a maze of shipping containers, survived a brutal firefight, and boarded the evacuation ship. As the on-screen countdown hit zero, he shouted in disbelief: “I can’t believe it!”
But the celebration was short-lived — the cutscene that followed revealed a chilling twist: although his character escaped, the city of Tarkov was immediately obliterated by a nuclear bomb just moments after his departure.

Developer Nikita, who watched the moment live, confirmed that this is only the second worst ending in the game. A haunting message appears on screen:
“You never saw the bigger picture. You never realized your actions were the final link in a chain that led to the city’s destruction.”
The official Escape from Tarkov account also congratulated him with an ominous note: “You survived — but at what cost?”

With the first completion now confirmed, a new global race begins. Nikita announced on X:
“Whoever achieves the perfect ending will receive a special reward from me!”

To unlock this best ending, players are expected not only to escape, but to save the city of Tarkov from nuclear destruction — a challenge that millions of PMC players are now rushing to attempt.
