[CM Review] It's Always about the last cat... [Cats Hidden in Italy] [8]

What's up! CM Flint here.

Just a little while ago, it was scorching hot, but now, suddenly, the air cools down, the refreshing vibes of autumn.

On days like this, I just want to zone out and enjoy the scenery—maybe even watch a few stray cats or dogs on a walk.

Perhaps that’s why I’ve recently been drawn to more laid-back games.

Today, I’m reviewing [Cats Hidden in Italy], a game that perfectly complements this kind of relaxed atmosphere.

It’s especially great for those who love cats or have one at home.

Why not take a moment to unwind and spend some quality time with cats?

With so many new games being released lately, the variety is truly staggering.

Some games are built for streamers, with features designed for live streams, while others appeal to hardcore players who love hardcore difficulty.

And let’s be honest—game quality also varies a lot.

There are those games where you think, “Why would I pay $0.99 for this?” and then others that make you go, “Wow, this is only $49.99?”

But sometimes, it’s nice to put all of that aside and go back to what gaming is really about—relaxation.

After a long, tiring day, or when you just want to spend some chill time alone or with friends, it’s the simple, easy games that often call to you.

<Maybe the developer had some frustrating experiences trying to find cats...>

For those of you looking for a simple, easy game, [Cats Hidden in Italy] is exactly that.

Your goal? Find 100 cats hidden within a large, detailed picture.

That’s it—there’s no complex storyline, just pure, stress-free gameplay.

The developer, Travellin Cats, has actually released a variety of games centered around this cat-finding concept, with settings ranging from Paris to Bali to China.

You could say they’ve mastered their niche!

<Do you see all the hidden cats? No? That’s probably a good thing.>

As the title suggests, [Cats Hidden in Italy] has you searching for 100 cats cleverly hidden in a large illustration of an Italian city.

For those of you who remember the old Where's Waldo? Books, it’s a bit like that.

Your goal is to find all the hidden cats within a massive, busy picture.

<Don’t worry if your eyesight isn’t great—there’s a zoom option just for you!>

Of course, like any hidden object game, spotting things in a cluttered scene can be tricky.

The hardest part? The picture is so detailed that it’s sometimes hard to tell what you’re even looking at.

Luckily, the game’s zoom option lets you magnify the picture up to 3x, making it a bit easier to spot those elusive felines.

It’s a small but thoughtful touch, especially for players with vision issues.

<Click on a cat, and it turns blue, deducting one from the total number of cats left to find.>

The controls are simple: just click on each cat you find, and they’ll turn blue while a counter decreases.

Your goal is to find all 100 cats. It’s straightforward enough that you don’t even need a tutorial.

<For those suffering from "last cat syndrome," there’s a helpful hint feature.>

The hardest part of any hidden object game? Finding the last object.

And when there are several blue cats still in the picture, it can feel almost impossible to spot that final one.

Thankfully, the developers anticipated this frustration and added a hint feature for the final cat.

Just click the icon next to the number, and the game will zoom in on its location.

<Now it's time to race the clock and find all 100 cats as quickly as possible!>

Once you’ve found all 100 cats, a small fireworks display celebrates your victory.

But just as you’re about to close the game, you’ll see a message that says, “Timer Mode Unlocked.”

It turns out the fun isn’t over yet.

The next challenge? Finding all the cats again, but this time, with a timer running.

<Timer mode offers no hints for the last cat, making it even more of a challenge.>

In Timer Mode, the hint for the final cat is disabled, which means finding that the last one will take longer—way longer.

It took me 5 minutes to find the first 99 cats, and 9 more minutes to find the last one.

That’s when I realized just how crucial that final hint had been!

After finishing Timer Mode, the game records your completion time.

As for me, I’ve looked at that picture so much that I’ll probably take a break before playing it again.

After a long time of just wanting to relax without any complex gameplay, [Cats Hidden in Italy] was exactly what I needed.

The only downside? There’s just one stage, so the playtime isn’t very long.

But hey, for only $0.99, what more can you ask for?

If you’re someone who enjoys casual games, needs to unwind, or just wants to find some cute cats, I highly recommend [Cats Hidden in Italy].
