Staff User Guide [8]
Hello! Today I’m sharing my personal experience and recommendations for the Staff class.
(Note: It’s still up to you whether you follow my guide or not, and if you have better suggestions, feel free to share!)
I’ve personally tried every single class myself, and I’ll break down exactly what I’ve learned and how it worked for me. If you’re still confused about which class to pick for your staff build, this might help you a bit.
I was looking for a class that had:
Good damage for grinding
Sustainability without using too many potions
No heavy reliance on low proc chances
(Again, I’m not claiming I’m 100% correct. I just tested these myself and got these results.)
Hunter
What I liked:
The damage boost was definitely noticeable.
Why I dropped it:
Yes, it increases your damage against monsters, but it also increases the damage you take.
This means I had to use a lot of potions, which burned through my gold really fast.
For me, that’s already a no—especially since I’m only using a rare avatar and don’t like spending too much on potions.
Dark Lancer
What I liked:
The penetration stats and other useful passives.
Abilities like having a shield, extra damage, and cooldown reduction.
Why I dropped it:
I think Dark Lancer is better for late-game. The higher the enemy’s defense, the more effective defense penetration becomes.
The skill description even says the target’s defense will never go below 0, no matter how much defense penetration you stack.
Mage
What I liked:
Good passive effects.
Can use Vitality, which helps with survivability.
Feels like the “traditional” staff build.
Why I dropped it:
The main passive only has a 1% proc chance.
The last passive felt underwhelming and not worth it for long-term play, especially since you eventually get more mana anyway.
Warlock
What I liked:
The main active passive has only a 1-minute cooldown, and it’s reliable.
Gives cooldown reduction, channeling speed, and magic attack boost.
MP recovery was also decent.
Why I dropped it:
I liked it, but I felt like there was still a better option out there.
Fire Mage (My Final Choice)
What I liked:
Scales really well with future skills like Giant Explosion and Magic Release.
If the target has Burn, Giant Explosion deals 100% bonus magic damage.
The last passive increases magic damage dealt by 5% every 33% HP when landing basic attacks, which is great for DPS scaling.

For Staff, do you guys Max Int then Dex?
Also, Dark Mage buffs Attack Power, I assume that scales magic damage when using skills?
For mana issues, I find removing the barrier from auto makes it so much easier to manage mana.
Using Pure Magic Potions, Life Tap when I can makes me not even bother about my mana usage at all.
Right now, I agree. Fire Lord offers a good mid to late game stats and usage. I do not know any hidden class so maybe that would be better.
So far I find Dark Mage and Fire Lord the only viable class so far. Others feel like gimmicks and very niche.
Curious about what others have tested so far :)
I think Striker is also a good build. I've tested it and the damage is on par with the Dark Lancer and Dark Mage. There is also a healing for this under Power of Darkness (Spell).
The buff of the Striker is Skullsmasher which is at least 5% damage for 10 sec. Cooldown is 15 secs. So basically the downtime is only 5 secs.
0 - 199: All damage 5%
200 - 399: All damage 10%
400 - 599: All damage 15%
600 - All damage 20% (assumption)
how do you even guys solve mana issues, i always get zero mana whichever class i build
I got the Tags/Traits combination for the hidden class for magic users. I haven't unlocked it yet since it's kinda hard for F2P to meet the requirements for it. By the looks of the tags/traits used for it, it's most likely balance. I'm currently using Sage class btw.
I haven’t been able to try it out yet, but I just checked the Dark Mage skill and its passive. It’s decent and better than Mage. I’ll try it out soon, and when I can play and chat here, I’ll share whether it’s good or not.
this one is a good guide but dont forget the dark mage as well
Not yet, but I think it’s bad since the skill has a 300-second cooldown and most of the passives are focused on defense, so it’s a no for me.
Have you tested the Priest build? What can you say about it?
