오늘 캠퍼스는 평소보다 조금 더 조용하다.
텅 비어서가 아니라,
많은 이들이 집으로 돌아갔기 때문이다.

설날.
새로 시작하는 날이면서,
우리가 어디에서 왔는지 떠올리는 시간이기도 하다.

해마다 반복되는 작은 인사들.
함께 나누는 식사.
존중을 담아 건네는 말들.
굳이 소리 내지 않아도 전해지는 바람들.

새해는 거창한 다짐으로 시작하지 않아도 될 것 같다.
조금 더 마음을 담아.
조금 더 감사하며.
조금 더 차분하게.

새로운 해가 시작될 때,

The campus feels quieter than usual today.
Not because it’s empty,
but because many have gone home.

It’s Seollal.
A time to begin again,
and to remember where we come from.

Small traditions return each year.
Meals shared together.
Words spoken with respect.
Wishes that don’t always need to be said aloud.

Maybe a new year doesn’t have to start with big promises.
Maybe it’s enough to begin
with a little more intention.
A little more gratitude.
A little more calm.
