1/18 (Thu) Balance Adjustment Preview (1/15 Edited) [395]

Hello Heirs. This is Epic Seven.

---

After carefully considering the diverse feedback from our Heirs in response to the preview of the balance adjustments set to be implemented on 1/18 (Thu), we have decided to exclude the 4★ Moonlight Hero Auxiliary Lots from the balance adjustments on 1/18. We appreciate your understanding regarding the changes to the information provided in the initial announcement.

---

First, we would like to sincerely apologize for the delay in posting the Balance Adjustment Preview.

We sincerely appreciate the interest and support of all of our Heirs who have continued their adventures with us in Epic Seven.

With these balance adjustments, we plan to implement changes to 11 Heroes and 3 Artifacts. These changes are scheduled to take effect following the update on 1/18.

Imprint Concentration (Before)

Imprint Concentration (After)

Attack +6~18%

Effectiveness +9~27%

Judge Kise is a powerful Hero when she unleashes a sequence of skills through Soulburn. However, her overall usability fell short of expectations, primarily due to the limited effectiveness of her skills, excluding Wave of Light. In our effort to enhance her performance, we are focusing on refining her skill, End of Evil.

With these adjustments, End of Evil will now inflict decreased Defense and make enemies unable to counterattack for two turns after dispelling all buffs on enemies. Additionally, we are transferring her Soulburn effect to End of Evil, facilitating sequential attacks after applying debuffs.

While these changes eliminate the buff dispelling ability from her skill, Wave of Light, the skill will deal increased damage, emphasizing its AoE damage-dealing ability. The chance of increasing Skill Cooldown on enemies will be increased to 100%, albeit occurring only once, bolstering her effectiveness in containing enemies. Moreover, the skill nullifier will be replaced with Invincibility, boosting her overall viability after using her skills.

Given her capability to inflict decrease Defense debuffs on all enemies using End of Evil, Sever will now penetrate Defense instead of inflicting decreased Defense. Additionally, her Imprint Concentration will be adjusted to boost Effectiveness, synergizing better with her skills.

In summary, utilizing End of Evil to apply debuffs and Soulburn to execute Wave of Light sequentially will enable Judge Kise to prevent enemy counterattacks, deal substantial damage, increase the enemies’ skill cooldowns, and grant Invincibility, bolstering her strategic advantage in battles. These adjustments aim to make Judge Kise a more appealing choice for our Heirs, and we look forward to her increased popularity.

Specimen Sez

Light Storm (Before)

Light Storm (After)

Attacks the enemy with a light storm, inflicting extinction and resetting cooldown for this skill when the enemy is defeated. Penetrates Defense by 30%, or by 100% when the enemy is stunned. If this skill is available according to cooldown count when an ally except for the caster is attacked, has a 20% chance to counterattack.

Attacks the enemy with a light storm, inflicting extinction and resetting cooldown for this skill when the enemy is defeated. Penetrates Defense by 30%, or by 100% when the enemy is stunned. When this skill is available according to cooldown count, increases Evasion by 50%.

Specimen Sez possesses destructive potential when the battle aligns favorably for him, but his overall usability has been hindered by the restrictive stun conditions. While attempting to alleviate this constraint, we introduced a counterattacking effect to his skill, Light Storm. Unfortunately, the results were inconsistent due to the variable chance nature of the effect.  In response, we are implementing an increased Evasion effect to enhance his viability. This adjustment aims to bolster Specimen Sez's resilience, allowing him to endure damage more effectively before steering the battle in his favor. We anticipate that these adjustments will render Specimen Sez more effective and versatile on the battlefield.

Spirit Eye Celine

Mighty Strike (Before)

Mighty Strike (After)

Attacks the enemy with a sheath. When this skill is used, if it was not triggered by a Dual Attack, has a 50% chance to use Nimble Sword instead of Mighty Strike.

Nimble Sword: Dispels one debuff from the caster, before swiftly attacking the enemy. Penetrates the target's Defense by 35%.

Possession (Undispellable)Increases Attack by 25%. Counterattacks when suffering a critical hit.

Spirit Eye Celine, with her unique ability to revive all fallen allies, grant Immortality, and counterattack under Possession, holds substantial potential. However, issues regarding insufficient damage output and sustainability have marred the satisfaction of using her. To address these concerns, Nimble Sword will now consistently absorb a portion of the damage dealt as Health, irrespective of Possession. Additionally, the rate of Defense penetration will be augmented, enhancing her effectiveness against high-Defense enemies. While the basic damage of her skill, Nimble Sword, will undergo adjustments, a compensatory feature will be introduced—granting a 25% increase in Attack when Possession is granted. This enhancement aims to elevate her overall usability and address previous concerns.

Hwayoung, initially adjusted due to her significantly high usability, will undergo further revisions. Following the previous adjustments, her effectiveness has significantly decreased, making it challenging for her to fulfill her intended role. We appreciate your understanding as we strive to fine-tune her for improved balance.

The conditions for inflicting additional damage with her skill, Supersonic Kick, will be alleviated, accompanied by a slight increase in the additional damage. Furthermore, Prairie Hawk will now grant an increased Attack buff under specific conditions each turn, diversifying Hwayoung's utility in various team compositions. Consequently, the 30% Attack increase effect will be removed, and the barrier effect will be transferred to her skill, Monarch's Flaming Strike.

Monarch's Flaming Strike will undergo changes in its Defense penetration mechanics, now relying on the difference in Attack rather than the maximum Health difference between Hwayoung and her target. This adjustment aims to grant her greater viability without sacrificing damage potential. As her Attack receives a boost from the granted buff, reducing the difficulty of meeting the Defense penetration condition, the skill's base damage will be slightly reduced. Lastly, the cooldown of Monarch’s Flaming Strike will be decreased and its Soulburn effect will be transferred to Supersonic Kick, its effect changed to increase the damage dealt and additional damage dealt by Supersonic Kick.

This is literally worst balance patch, good job sg! You guys do not care about your game at all.

BEST

GJ killing ALots for no reason. You know very well that nobody uses him for his S3.

I swear, you guys and your 'buffs'...

Edit: I want to add, before people say "But his S2 was too strong with Spirit Breath arti": Yes, his S2 was strong, but remember that you're basically sacrificing a unit slot just to push another unit forward. That's a cost proportional to the reward. And it's damn costly, especially for stuff like GW offense where you're limited to 3 units.

And this probably invalidated a ton of PvE scenarios/guides too. But we know SC (SuperCreative) hates their PvE players, with their refusal to make so many units viable not just for PvP.

Regardless, masquerading a nerf as a buff is a no-no in my book.

BEST

Didn’t knew SG could disappoint us even more

Just wondering, Hwa is no longer a tank buster which I pulled her to use in that role. Can't recall her right?

Good thing that they didnt touched A lots.

Still no changes to Judge Kise... Feeling so dissapointed in SG. Her kit is currently a bruiser-type. Her zodiac is damage. Her imprint and changes screams debuffer. She has ML Elena's anti-counter debuff which proved to be awful, yet they slap her with this. What is SG's balance team smoking??? Korean truck, when?

Thanks for listening on Alots.

They should fix Blidica, 20k health and 8 debuffs and she hits for a measly 7k damage, it was a disappointment for a limited hero. And why haven't they done it yet? Bilibis was fixed almost instantly so why not the same treatment?

DPS Byblis with Reigner Drink basically outdamages her lol. You get some nice burst damage if they counter before she attacks, then you s3, they counter again and more water. Its pretty funny

profile image

MagixAdeptyeah, they need to fix blidica is what im saying

I need to find a better team than I had to go with BLidica, but with 22 k health, 245 speed, and 8 debuffs out, she would one-hit most units with her s3.  You have to jack her speed.  She's not AYufine, whose speed increases by 100% and damage isn't dependent upon it.

thankfully you guys are not changing alots. that being said, hwayoung is going to be useless post nerf even more than after her previous nerf. shes going to be meant to kill bruisers, but everyone is playing mitigation, if not double mitigation. her damage is going to be pathetic since shes losing up to 80% attack of how we used to play her pre changes, on top of torrent set damage increases and potentially artifact damage too. ofc the multis havent been releases but i can assure you, the multis staying the same will not change anything

As for judge kise, how on earth are we supposed to build her smilegate. can you show us an example build and how we are meant to utilise her. she has low base speed, def pen on s1 but needs eff for s2 and s3. oh and, when showcasing her, please dont use some bad builds in arena to fight against, or fight against some non-meta picks like haste and silver blade aramintha like you did for blooming lidica.

She is such a clutterfudge and mess. Hurts me that they took this long to "save" her and this is what they came up with :( I've been brainstorming with a team of E7-players and we have NOT been able to figure out either a team or a build for her. There's not even an artifact that supports her well. They must change her class, zodiac or skills for this to even have a slight chance of working. Glad I'm not alone in thinking she's a mess <3

epic7#zc79d0whats there to brain storm ? build her full dmg 0 speed like how she is now to cleave with Ox Lotz 4300+ att 330+ crit dmg 100% crit chance what ever left in eff my has 119 speed art symbol yea it wont work in RTA and wont work vs ml Yufine all other cases got an Ox Lots with 292 speed boost she nukes now with this changes of her S2 stopping counter it will be even more ez vs those peskey rats that was her only real weakness vs ml kens or blue Chonix now shes good slap a Jako for the passive and your good now for a speed build 260/270ish is viable with the changes basically build her with Briseria build lots of att speed eff crit chance and what evers left in crit dmg never going to be an opener as her base speed simply wont out speed the current 290+ meta but for a 2nd turn shes viable for the debuf and reset would need a book holder still in the team or 3rd build build her around 220/240 speed set full dmg like some blue Kise are build right now and shes still viable vs slow teams

What is this Specimen Sez buff supposed to do? He's already dead, and will be dead even more after ML Sharun is out. But now he has 50% evasion so he can be useless for slightly longer?

Pls buff ml haste

Why never buff my ml haste him is **** bro no body build him

So, there's clealry more than 1 hero being complained about here, like taking out alots is good and all but you ignored the other...heroes????? Like are you not willing to fix your other mistakes???? Quite the balance team huh?

We know they've stopped caring about the game. It's sad to see but I think we gotta realise the truth by now :( Fudge

cancelling Auxiliary lots changes is great

now can you do a real rework on how Specimen Sez work ?

the high risk/high reward of his kit just doesn't work
it never did and it never will

why giving him such a hard condition on his S3 when so many units ignore defense for free ?

How many of those units that ignore def completely can crit?  Adin ignores half that def, and people would throw a fit if she got a stun.

Rework everything, not only Alots. If Hwa ***** more now, i will start to meme on reddit daily!

What is this hwa balance patch? More like a nerf then proceeding to give her an EE to give her old self back smh. Plz buff properly

Sooooo can we get recalls for these because you mfs just ****** these heroes.

why would they give recall for every balance change to any unite bro ??? its demands like this that made there balance team not nurf overly tuned ml unites because everyone crys give me a selector give me a selector and pick the next most broken unite it makes no sense they should do this balance changes more frequently not give us selectors just make more frequent changes that meke sence and were good

TigrionWhat a baseless opinion. They dont nerf ML5s becuz $$$, money, and most of all cold hard cash. The whales cried so hard when a 2*bat was competing with Cilias. Boohoo my precious ML5*. How dare a 2* f2p bat aid in defeating me in RTA. They are on a strict no nerf ML5 policy. A.Ravis nerf was nerfing the artifact that maybe 60% of people use with her. Spez and The Judge just got buffs that are so bad they seem like nerfs. But you're not gonna see something like Candy will only trigger AoE anti-crit after she starts a turn. Or Ayufine loses her fighting spirit on death. Like real hard nerfs they did to Hwa

Hey please, skip this unbalance patch

So, I guess they're dropping this balance despite the responses coming from the players. They really don't care, the balance team that is...

1/18 will be my last day than

Nerfing Hwayoung again I see, when she is already useless, what a joke of a balance team.

cancel that awful balance patch and go back to the drawing board.

listen to your players and refund and compensate the disaster you did with elvira.

stop being moneydriven with no common sense of enjoyment.

otherwise I am out - many guildies already claim to be burnt out of e7 due to one disaster after the other

A fifth of my guild dropped when these news arrived (They were already burnt out after all the limited units, postponed stuff, postpone Belian skin, etc etc etc etc etc). 2 fifths are supposedly leaving the game if they don't do anything with this stupid patch and I don't blame them. SG is killing the game.

Bruh, stop killing pve unit for no reason

ML Kise was great in pve, especially Abyss. After the changes she will be kicking for her life in shallow water waiting to drown by the next wave. I think SG needs to realise that a lot of players are more interested in PvE than PvP and thus there has to be a balance inbetween.

I demand a recall on all the heroes! Most of these are NERFS! You dont call that A. Lots a buff. That's a scam!
