4/13 (Thu) Balance Adjustment Preview [31]
Hello Heirs. This is Epic Seven.
We would like to inform you that the 5★ Moonlight Hero, Architect Laika, will undergo a balance adjustment.
Initially, Architect Laika was designed to inflict Target on the enemy and deal significant damage to those inflicted with Target.
However, since her skills are highly influenced by variables in battle, feedback from our Heirs indicated that her overall usage did not meet expectations.
Furthermore, analysis of in-game data also revealed that Architect Laika's performance in battle did not meet our expectations upon her release.
Accordingly, we would like to inform you that we will be implementing a balance adjustment for the 5★ Moonlight Hero, Architect Laika. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and kindly ask for your understanding as the balance adjustment will be applied during the Mystic Summon period.
※ The probability and number of turns are based on fully enhanced characters.
※ Skill Cooldowns will not be changed unless stated.

With everything going as planned, increases Attack of the caster for 2 turns, before attacking all enemies. When the target is not an Elite or Boss monster, damage sharing effects are ignored. When the enemy is inflicted with target, penetrates the target's Defense by 80%. First, the Soulburn effect of Laying the Groundwork will be changed from granting an extra turn to ignoring Effect Resistance. This will ensure that if she has enough Soul, she will be guaranteed to inflict target, reducing variables in battle especially when the team composition is stable.
Second, Laying the Groundwork will now increase Combat Readiness of the caster by an additional 50% if the enemy is inflicted with target after using the skill. If she successfully inflicts target and is granted with extra Combat Readiness increase, she will be able to take the next turn early and deal significant damage by using her next skill in chain.
Lastly, Eliminating the Target will now deal more damage, increasing her ability to effectively contain enemies.
The balance adjustment for the 5★ Moonlight Hero, Architect Laika is scheduled to be applied during the update on 4/13 (Thu).
We expect Architect Laika to be used in various content with this balance adjustment. Once Again, we apologize for how the balance adjustment is applied during the Mystic Summon Period.
We will continue to try our best to improve the Heroes in our game so that every character can be utilized by our Heirs.

I don't even build ER but it is complete trash, now it is even worse. I don't think ignore ER on so many units is good for the game
How about you buff ER set before you start making every character ignore it? You have to invest into so much ER for it to matter and with just a bit of EFF it negates all that.
ER is just very weak and useless unless it is extremely high and at that point there are not enough gear stats to into other defensives.
You know what SG, screw you!!!! I will not spend a dime more due to this!!!!!!!!!!!!! (week 1 player with no kids, so I do spend... an obscene amount).... I had 130 Mystic pulls after reading ML Laika's skills the day before going live... and due to that fact I decided to rather go for 1 of the few missing characters in my roster, ML Merc or ML Vivian on the custom banner.... still nothing, yeah I will pity for 1 of them, but the whole reason I decided to not pull for ML Laika was not the fact that I know you will in future buff a character, but the fact that Straze does the same job! Buffing a unit, with a custom mystic banner is ridiculous!!!! I expect that all my mystics used on custom banner be refunded so that I can rather go for ML Laika!!!! Go see my history and when I started to pull on custom and that it was after ML Laika's official release!!!!!

I expected a bit of a buff and sure agree she deserves one, and to be clear the timing of the buff is appropriate. But this... This is just too far.
What the ever living bleep. Ignore er is cool, even the 50% cr push on s2 is cool, but DAMAGE INCREASE!?!?!??! NANI?!?!?!?
bruh, im watching mids build of this girl shoot through 2800+def karinas for 25k and one pop (WHEN) the target lands already.
20% CR push on s1 is ridiculous, basically Laika goes, then boom, Alaika pushes to front and its over like that.
Tank down isnt the problem everyone seems to think it is, but unfortunately units like this push people more and more towards either cleave or get extremely bulky. youre creating a dichotomy in playstyle and theres no more middle ground. aggro/casino/whatever its all dead in between.
People who are complaining are the Arowell, Destina, Karina, Yulha etc. drafters. Y'all sit there on turn2 gaming with all the bulk, resistance, dmg reduction and dmg share... and the counter set, cherry on top. Meanwhile spd and dmg players have to go for spd, both crits and atk. How are we supposed to kill you through all that meat shield and resistance if we don't have ignore ER and def pen? You guys proc counter twice and our whole team is dead but you still complain about this buff!? 1 out 2 pre-bans we have is already taken by Belian because if not, bye-bye ignore ER and any other soulburns.
This buff was needed to her because otherwise she would pale in comparison to units like Ludwig or Straze; and probably would've been benched after the banner ends and forgotten once the new ML5 is announced.
I think SG did the right thing buffing her during the banner. During last couple months, this treatment saved couple heroes from death on debut: Ed, ML Ray adn now Laika
This buff was needed but the problem people have with Ignore er is that it completely removes the idea of even having the stat just like how 15 does the same thing to effectiveness. Intstead of dealing with the actual issues they keep bringing characters that harm arguably the worst stats in the game and make them even more worthless.
Oh I'm sorry you can't win turn one every single game, SG should definitely do something about that, more speed should always equal automatic win, everyone knows that.
In fact, the game should just end with whoever has the highest speed unit right from the start, why bother going through the actual match when we already know the outcome, more speed = win.
you realize units like Arowell, Destina, Karina, Yulha exists because units like Ran, Peira, Lua,Clilias. Turn 2 have to invest in usually EVERY stat to survive.the problem is that these units literally ignore several mechanics by themselves.
ML Laika: Shes a Mage so she can hold book to soulburn she gives herself attack buff, she gives herself immunity, she ignores Aurius, She ignores Eff res (which most turn 2 put 100-150 pts in), she debuffs to get 15% increased damage for 2 turns, she pushes herself, She strips, She ignores Defense. like the kit is BLOATED like lua is BLOATED. Laika has to invest in: Speed/Crit/Cdamage/Attack
Karina/Destina/Arowell/Yulha do not ignore mechanics your speed, crit,cdamage do not get negated. Even Crit resistance doesnt negate crits, but the more ridiculous cleave units become the tankier and more annoying turn 2 units have to become to survive its a cycle that started with Ran. what if turn 2 got a unit that made enemy units move only at base speed?
I farmed banshee then farmed Wyvern now I have a cleave team that is almost always unusable in arena because counter etc
so I built Karina destina arowell yulha(´∀`) I have ml laika, and I know both sides, I did not like er ml tywin buff (I have him too) but ml laika needed to ignore er, or people wouldn't use s2.

Why don't you (smilegate) just rework the innate effect resistance and the effectiveness vs. ER mechanics instead?
Units that you expect to debuff should land debuffs (with enough effectiveness) and units that you don't expect to resist (without any ER stats) like Ed and CZ, should not resist.
STOP GIVING UNITS IGNORE ER OH MY GOD. You already need a 100 er gap to reliably resist 0 eff units. Outside of resisting debuffs, the er stat does NOTHING, yet you need to invest a lot of points into it to resist debuffs while eff is a lot easier to obtain and requires less to work. It doesnt help that these ignore er units also come with a strip so neither er nor immunity will help. RTA frenzy already increases eff for long drawn out matches that is understandable, but why does ignore er exist to get rid of er and units with immunity TURN 1? There is Belian to stop the it but opponent can just preban her.
If 15% resist is a problem, why not just get rid of it? Can't ignore er be changed into bonus eff+ignore 15% innate er effect instead of completely bypassing er and immunity?
This speed cleave inclination for buffs and units is getting quite ridiculous and is starting to make playstyles extremely restrictive.

When they say ignore ER, what they really should say is, ignore 15%. Who's trying to pull up on a Maid or Destina thinking its so unfair their A. Laika can't target them. Nah it's more like they're throwing a fit cuz A. Ravi or Choux hit them with that 15%. Funny thing is, with this buff, now Politis can mess with her even worse then before
The problem is clearly 15% yes, because Laika is literally useless 15% of the time because of stupid rng. Ignore ER is not ideal but it's probably the best solution without removing 15% which they already said they don't want to for who knows what reason...
JustAAs I understand it is to give variety to the fights, with this RGN mechanic all battles can have a different result even if you face the same person and the same units, do not misunderstand me I hate the RGN in all its scope and its 15%, but it is the easiest way to solve the monotony that the game causes when you know that the same results will always

If they buffed her after the banner you would have blamed SG for doing it when you can't get her anymore.
