Hello Heirs. This is Epic Seven.

 

We are already on the last Developer's Note of the year. Epic Seven has received so much love and support from all of our Heirs this year. We sincerely appreciate your support in our journey and wish that you have warm and joyful days for the rest of the year and onward.

 

With this balance adjustment, we plan to implement changes to 7 Heroes, 3 Artifacts, and system changes. These changes are scheduled to take effect following the update on 12/22.

 

1. Balance Adjustment Targets

With this balance adjustment, certain Heroes and Artifacts that have been absent in the current meta will be adjusted along with system changes.

The details of the balance adjustment for the selected Heroes and Artifacts can be seen below.

Dark Corvus is a Hero who can suppress and even inflict extinction on an enemy by dealing high damage with his main skill, Devil's Descent. However, it takes too long for him to decrease the cooldown of Devil's Descent, and once he uses the skill, had a low contribution in battle.

With these adjustments, he will have increased contributions in battle as he will be immune to stun, and the skill cooldown for Devil's Descent will be decreased by 1 turn. Additionally, his skill, Shield Bash, will now have a 100% chance to provoke an enemy, which will help him decrease the skill cooldown of Devil's Descent and receive damage for his allies at the same time.

Briar Witch Iseria is a Hero designed to be used in versatile situations but she has been underperforming compared to other Heroes designed to specialize in certain areas. Therefore, we increased the Hit Chance of her skill, Witch's Curse, so that she can excel against Heroes who use Evasion. We also added a special effect where both allies and enemies cannot be revived when Briar Witch Iseria is in the battle.

Additionally, Cursed Thorn will now have a chance to decrease Defense instead of Attack, which will decrease the enemies' viability. However, its effect chance will be slightly decreased. Lastly, Cursed Thorn's Soulburn effect will be changed from increasing damage dealt to ignoring Effect Resistance, which will provide her with a new competitive edge.

Worship Me! (Acquire 10 Soul): Increases Combat Readiness of all allies by 15%.



At the start of battle, grants Star's Blessing for 1 turn.

When the caster is granted Star's Blessing, enemy Heroes cannot counterattack.

After an ally except for the caster attacks all enemies, activates Worship Me!. Worship Me! can only be activated once every 3 turns.

Worship Me! (Acquire 10 Soul): Increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 20%.

 

Star's Blessing: Increases Attack and Critical Hit Damage by 15%. Star's Blessing cannot be dispelled.

Attacks all enemies with the energy of the enraged star, decreasing buff durations by 1 turn before restricting and making them unable to counterattack for 2 turns. This skill cannot trigger a counterattack.

Astromancer Elena is a Hero designed to focus on stabilizing allies' offensive performance and protects allies by suppressing enemies' Counterattacks. However, it was difficult to utilize her strength as she needed to get her turn before her allies and then make enemies unable to counterattack. Therefore, we decided to change her overall skill concept and skill effects so that she can synergize with other Heroes more easily.

Now, she will grant Star's Blessing to the caster when the battle starts, and enemies cannot counterattack when she is granted Star's Blessing. The increased Hit Chance effect from Enraged Star's Retribution, which was required to make enemies unable to counterattack consistently, will be replaced with Unhealable debuff.

Accordingly, the condition to activate her skill, Worship Me! will be changed from activating when attacking enemies that are unable to counterattack to when her ally attacks all enemies. In addition, to help her extend the duration of Star's Blessing, the increased Combat Readiness will now apply to the caster and its amount will also be increased.

Inflicts lethal damage to the enemy, dealing damage proportional to the enemy's lost Health. When the enemy dies, inflicts additional damage to all enemies proportional to the caster's Attack.

Inflicts lethal damage to the enemy. When the enemy is defeated, inflicts extinction, and deals additional damage proportional to the caster's Attack to all enemies except for the target. Damage dealt increases proportional to the target's lost Health.

 

Damage Dealt Increased

 

Sez was originally designed to inflict a high amount of damage with his skill, Conviction, but it was difficult to utilize him as he could not survive in battle for a long time.

Through these adjustments, his passive, Encroach, will be changed into a passive skill that can increase his viability, and Encroach will be transferred as an additional skill activated from Dark Shadow. The new passive, Die Hard, will limit the maximum amount of damage received and cast Stealth on the caster when attacked, improving his overall viability. In addition, the amount of damage dealt by his skill, Conviction will also be increased and it will inflict extinction when the enemy is defeated, which will improve his usability as a damage dealer.

Lastly, increased damage dealt proportional to the target's lost Health effect will be transferred from Dark Shadow to Encroach, considering the condition to activate Encroach and its synergy with Conviction. As he can now deal more damage to all enemies, the amount of Soul gained from Conviction will be slightly changed.

Attacks with a dragon howl, dispelling one buff from all enemies, with an 85% chance to silence for 1 turn, before granting increased Attack and Speed to the caster for 2 turns.

When this skill is available according to cooldown count, after an ally except for the caster attacks, if the target is silenced, increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 20%.

Soulburn (20): Extends duration of buffs granted by Dragon Charge by 1 turn and grants an extra turn.

Hits the enemy with a finishing blow, dispelling all buffs and stunning for 1 turn. Increases Effectiveness of the caster for 2 turns. Damage dealt is increased by 50% when the enemy is buffed.

Attacks the enemy with a massive blade, and when the enemy is defeated, resets cooldown for this skill. When the target is silenced, penetrates the target's Defense by 70%.

When this skill is available according to cooldown count, after an ally except for the caster attacks, if the target is silenced, increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 20%.

Soulburn (20): Extends duration of buffs granted by Dragon Charge by 1 turn and grants an extra turn.

 

 

Yufine will be changed to a more versatile single Attack-DPS Hero when used with allies with certain skills.

First, her skill, Dragon Charge will be changed to penetrate 70% of a silenced enemy's Defense and reset its Cooldown when the enemy is defeated. She can be used with allies who could silence enemies, but can also use Dragon's Roar with Soulburn to silence an enemy herself and grant an extra turn. Additionally, she will be changed to increase her Combat Readiness when attacking a silenced enemy, which could improve her overall usability.

But, as her damage-dealing ability is increased, her ability to dispel all buffs from an enemy and inflict stun will be removed, and the skill effect of increasing her Speed after casting Dragon's Roar will be changed to increase Defense instead.

After an enemy uses a non-attack skill, dispels all debuffs from the caster and attacks a random enemy with Blink. Can be activated once every 2 turns.

Blink: Cuts the enemy in the blink of an eye and increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 20%. When the enemy is not an Elite or Boss monster, damage sharing effects are ignored.

After an enemy uses a non-attack skill, dispels all debuffs from the caster and attacks a random enemy with Blink. Can be activated once every 2 turns.

Blink: Cuts the enemy in the blink of an eye and increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 20%. Unaffected by elemental disadvantage.

Repeatedly slashes at the enemy, before triggering an explosion. Increases Evasion and grants a barrier to the caster for 2 turns. Barrier strength increases proportional to the caster's Attack.

Celine's skill, Intuition will be changed to be unaffected by elemental disadvantage, and its ignoring damage sharing effect will be transferred to Thunderclap. Through these adjustments, Intuition's biggest weakness, that it could not choose a target and thus unable to fully utilize its ignoring damage sharing effect will be complemented. Additionally, when using Soulburn, Thunderclap will deal increased damage, which will help her secure a kill more effectively.

Camilla is a Hero who can be utilized in various PvE content but has a weakness of being unable to utilize the increased Combat Readiness effect from her skill, Tactical Maneuver against Boss monsters who use Restrict.   Her contribution in battle will be improved with this adjustment, as Tactical Maneuver's effect of increasing Combat Readiness will be changed to grant an extra turn instead.

Samsara Prayer Beads will have renewed effects to improve its overall usability. It will now increase damage dealt from a Single Attack and decrease damage received from a Single Attack, which will make this an Artifact that can be used by various Warriors

Andre's Crossbow

Andre's Crossbow has not been utilized by many as it had both a chance and a condition to activate its effect and its effect was not strong enough. Through these adjustments, it will increase both Hit Chance and Effectiveness up to 20%, which could be utilized by many Rangers who can inflict debuffs.

 
 1-3. System Adjustment

Currently, [A successful attack always results in a critical hit] increases critical chance to 100%, which means a critical hit may not occur if the target has Critical Hit Resistance or passive that decreases critical hit chance.  It will be improved to inflict a critical hit, ignoring other conditions that may decrease a critical hit chance. 

 

The only Hero that will have his skill description changed will be Martial Artist Ken. No other functional changes will be made.

Attacks the enemy. A successful attack always results in a critical hit, dealing damage proportional to the caster's lost Health. When The Coming of Asura is available according to cooldown count, increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 25%.
 This attack receives effects that are applied to the basic skill.

 This changed attack does not trigger a Dual Attack.

These are the proposed balance adjustments and improvements that are scheduled for the update on 12/22.
 

Looking back at how this year has been, 

the sole reason how Epic Seven could improve little by little was all thanks to our Heirs.

 

We will continue to give our best effort to listen to your valued opinions next year

to make Epic Seven's journey with our Heir more special.

    BESTOverall, really good buffs for everyone other than Yufine; hate her changes. Turning her into a PvP only book stack cringe hero is awful. She has an amazing niche as one of the best dps and most useful PvE heroes for nightmare raid, abyss, and expos and now she will be dogwater. Losing her speed buff, s3 strip, and s3 bonus damage vs buffed units is awful. 99% of bosses are silence immune. Don't completely shift the purpose of her kit please. Have used her for years as is instead of just another PvP cleave nuker.


    Sez and ML Kek are finally getting some love, now where the hell is Ilynav? lol

    BESTKingusDingusDude stop. Its a buff. Compared to what he was this is an actual solid buff. 

    Wont make him meta, but Sez was not a PVP hero in the first place. This at least opens him up to some GW/Arena shenanigans.

    Sez buff ***** balls. Maybe def pen with his s3 or more damage after a kill would've been better. But I guess he's guaranteed Stealth now with every attack.

      Seems pretty decent if his damage is good.  If he does more damage than Tsurin, then he's a very viable anticleave unit.

      Casino7lol injury set? what for? At least pick a hero who can inflict it consistently not something like Sez who needs to bring target below 50% to get aoe attack. His s3 is st with 5 turn cd. Simply terrible choice.

    Celine buffs are super strong but there's still no illynav or yulha buffs 


    Ml iseria finally gets a buff but while there's advantage in using her now there's also disadvantage

      man they can't buff everychamp in one patch, stop being the insolent brat kid , Yulah is already a really good char and doing her job perfectly and Illynav is a pve char for Caides  / expe light  but require an excellent gear , but she is clearly not a priority

      yulha don’t need a buff as she’s already used in the highest tier of competitive play as is. Ilynav do need that buff tho

    Counter already costs a ton of opportunity in stats. Instead of putting more bs passives that shut down core game mechanics or the gear we farmed, you should focused on reworking Alena to better deal with the riolet you just buffed for no good reason or the even more ridiculous adin.


    Imagine a passive that said "no speed set."


    this patch is looking like 1 of the worst which is actually impressive considering how bad they've all been since... Mid 2020?

      CaulkOfOdinThe only "ridiculous" thing is your argument... Penetrate defense isn't interfering with defense gear? Ignore resistance isn't? How about barrier inversion (after they just added)? Doesn't strip interfere with immunity? Immunity & cleanse interferes with rage? Critical resist vs. destruction? Can you lifesteal with unhealable? "We put so much into the gears"...Well that's the game.

      How is your precious counter set any different from all the other sets mentioned above? Counter is just one of MANY mechanics that some heroes thrive in, and you know it has nothing to do with your  "interfering with gears" nonsense when some units do it naturally without the set 🙄

    what the **** is that samsara prayer beads change? Isn't it just identical to draco plate in what it achieves now? Unless this outperforms draco plate in single target situations it's just an inferior copy.

    You could have made it into the defensive equivalent of alexa's basket, where it could give greater defense buff or greater effect resistance, but no. You guys just had to pick the boring uninspired option =/

      RinRinRinDude, Samsara doesn't negate the dmg of half of the units you listed either because tick/splash/frtonation dmg can't be reduced with dmg reduction so again, what are you talking about? This IS a worse and more situational version of Draco.

      that's how the game work since release they always get a rock paper scisor mentality , i don't think it's a bad change , 1 counter char doesn't mean the char is dead  , watch aravi and adine , she is a huge counter but aravi is not dead

      Our witchy used to be a jack of all trades, master of none. I'm glad that at least 1 or 2 mechanics are now quite easy for her...

      Btw I don't have her, but use a lot MLCeline too, so we in one boat my friend :) Improvise adapt and overcome

      Not a nerf, she can now be used against more heroes. The only time this is a nerf is if the attack scaling dmg dealer isn't senya and manages to have like 14k+ hp + midigation. So unless you bring her against ML Crozet you are fine. Not to mention she should now be able to 1 shot A Ravi, Choux and some other units with her soulburned s3 since it ignores midigation and more dmg.

I'll just say that Mort has the advantageous element and ALSO has anti crit which screws Choux twice as much. Considering both anti-crit screw each other over but Mort has advantageous element and injury to his kit, I think it should be obvious who would prevail over who

      This is not battle of elements. You're ignoring what their kits do and dumb it down to one singular aspect of gameplay.

      I love how you ignored me saying that Choux has hers right away without relying on rng wheras Mort needs to


      -crit with his s1

      -proc 50% s2

      -only gets the buff for 1 turn 


      Also, Choux has signifcantly higher stats than him- over 1k more base hp which equals more bulk and more dmg.

      Only up to 20% ever 4 turns IF he's able to deal dmg equal to 20% of her hp.


      Better have 5ht grade "diss" than 5th grade brain that ignores all the nuances and pretends to be a smartass.

      Bruh, she can still 1 shot banshee, can still auto expedition (you won't manually soul burn her if you do auto). I don't see her s3 50% more damage is any more devastating than def break, rage ,joker combo so no, it's pure buff.

      This is 100% buff for PvP and 0% change for PvE. Raid boss Yufine never used s2 or s3 in full auto. Having a speed buff was actually detrimental to raid boss yufine. Not even banshee runs are going to be negatively impacted by this. 


      You come off like you are whining for the sake of it bc even after your rant of nonsense you mention ml Ken getting some love (he didn't, that was a system change that won't make him any more viable) and that illinav didn't. Those are the names that every person that has nothing meaningful to say spew in the comments.
