Draft Discussion [3]
Last season, I have played around 2000 matches in RTA. 85% of the games were either cleave or agressive tempo comp. But I still got to choose my playstyle, whether to play standard, cleave, or agressive tempo, according to what the opponent picked.
However, this season, after the nerf of hwa and release of zio, I don't know if it is only me, but my draft was ALWAYS same.
The first two picks would be Arowell with DJB. Along with two other light elemental heroes such as savior adin, sage vivian solitaria and then counter pick for the last pick.
What I think the issue here is the meta solidifying.
Might be an unpopular opinion, but WHAT IF, they assign light and dark elemental heroes to either fire, ice, earth, and just delete light and dark elementaries? Could that change the meta a bit?

I would only caution that there is likely a lot of "noise" in the data right now. The heroes you mentioned are all heroes that were recently buffed. And unless I'm mistaken, we're still in the early season where not a lot of people tend to jump in yet, looking to solidify their position later in anticipation for the end of the season. Meaning there is a good chance you're mainly running into a good amount of testing - people jumping on the newest apparent meta and running with that to see how it does, or folks trying to head-off the other "noise" of the anticipated rampant threats of Zio and ARavi that were being predicted, alongside newest "bad-girl", Lua. All that is to say, I don't know that it's been long enough just yet to make broad assumptions about the meta, especially in light of so many other comments saying the complete opposite - that it's actually been very diverse.
I've always played standard/bruiser while very rarely agroing, and I feel a significant shift in the meta these last few patches. With control meta slowly creeping in again, I feel it's increasingly difficult to have non-attack cleansers (because of winter) in a team, which is why I'm favoring Pylis over Arowell, recently, because she can cleanse and also deal with adin, cilias, winter, etc.
This is just an example, but I feel like lots of characters are becoming more viable while old dominant characters are slowly fading away, like aol, alencia, aravi (haven't seen one in 20 games. I had to pick her to break this streak)
Its always been like that for almost 3 year, the main problem is all is about speed and speed.
if opponent pick cleave / debuff, then our will pick cleanser/bruiser
The problem is debuffer cleaver is too much, even my dj basar with 250+ er with shimadra +30 , it mean 265 eff resist total
Its always get debuff especially def break/stun/silent. (Imagine 265 eff resist dj basar get cd from lua and many stack of debuff)
With zio, its just the matter who pick zio first mostly will win, especially if they pair it with 265 speed adin + lua.
