Hello, Heirs.

This is Epic Seven.

(Edited 11/15) Cut off points for Legend has been edited to the correct number.

In continuation of the previous 10/27 (Thu) New Equipment Sets and In-game Adjustments, we would like to present to you the Conquest Season’s infographics.

Today's infographic is based on data from the Conquest and Resolution Seasons including an analysis of battles above the Champion League.

1. Hero Pick Rate

i) Pre-Ban

The pre-ban rate of the listed Heroes refers to the percentage of matches in which the Hero was pre-banned among all matches. For example, if a Hero’s pre-ban rate is 50%, it means the Hero had been pre-banned for half of all the matches counted.

The most commonly pre-banned Hero during the Conquest Season was Hwayoung, who replaced Conqueror Lilias as the most pre-banned Hero by more than 10%.

It was difficult for those who preferred a stable team composition to suppress Hwayoung's influence in battle, so there have been many attempts to ban her presence in advance.

The pre-ban rate for Angel of Light Angelica has increased again this season, which indicates that players who prefer Speed contesting team compositions are pre-banning Angel of Light Angelica along with Belian and Politis more often.

Peira, who was the 3rd most pre-banned Hero last season, had a significant drop in her pre-ban rate. Peira heavily relies on her debuff and barrier-granting skills for survival. However, the presence of Heroes such as Desert Jewel Basar, who can effectively counter her with Barrier Inversion, and Edward Elric, who can counter her debuff skill, lowered the overall difficulty of dealing with her.

The pre-ban rate for Conqueror Lilias dominated the early stages of this season, but as Hwayoung's pre-ban rate gradually increased throughout the season, the gap in the pre-ban rate between the two widened up to 6%.

In addition, Desert Jewel Basar's pre-ban rate increased significantly toward the end of the season. Desert Jewel Basar, equipped with high-Speed Equipment can increase the allies' survivability by increasing their Combat Readiness, dispelling all debuffs, granting immunity, and Healing them. Due to these factors, he was picked more frequently, resulting in an increased pre-ban rate.

ii. First Pick

“First Pick” here refers to the Hero selected by the player assigned the First Pick role, which means that there is only one Hero evaluated per match.  For example, a Hero that has a 30% weighted distribution in the image below means 30% of players with the First Pick role drafted the Hero in their first slot.  From the following data, you can also confirm the post-pick ban rate and win rate of the Heroes.

During the Conquest Season, the first pick rate of Conqueror Lilias decreased slightly while the first pick rate of Apocalypse Ravi increased slightly to take the top spot. Conversely, Peira's first-pick rate dropped significantly. The trend is similar to what we saw in the pre-ban list, but since Hwayoung has been pre-banned regularly, her first pick rate was low compared to her pre-ban rate.

Apocalypse Ravi remains the most picked Hero as her versatility still synergizes well with both Speed contesting and stall team composition, the two of the most often used team compositions in the current meta. As it is not ideal for a certain Hero to remain at the top of the list for too long, we will continue to monitor the situation and consider ways to increase the first pick rate of other Heroes as well as more ways to deal with Apocalypse Ravi.

Apocalypse Ravi maintained a stable first-pick rate throughout the season while Conqueror Lilias remained in second place, but her overall first-pick rate declined. We suspect that the decline in the first-pick rate of Conqueror Lilias was also affected by the addition of Heroes in mid-season, who could counter her skills, such as Moon Bunny Dominiel.

Other Heroes including Mediator Kawerik, Hwayoung, Ran, Diene, etc. were on the list.

In particular, the first-pick rate of Desert Jewel Basar and Diene steadily increased, as both of the Heroes are Soul Weavers who can protect allies as well as increase their Combat Readiness helping them take turns faster and making them versatile for any team composition. On the contrary, the first-pick rate of Mediator Kawerik, who is relatively less versatile because it is difficult to use him against Speed contesting team composition, decreased as the season progressed.

iii) Pick

“Pick” refers to the Heroes selected by the two players for a match and includes their First Picks. If the pick rate is 50%, it means the Hero has been drafted by either player for half of all the matches.

The pick rate of Apocalypse Ravi and Mediator Kawerik remained at the top of the list. The addition of new Exclusive Equipment and related balance adjustments greatly increased the pick rate of Heroes who were rarely picked, such as Adventurer Ras, Diene, Alencia, Cidd, Choux, etc.

Adventurer Ras became one of the main Knights in the current meta as his ability to protect an ally increased significantly. Accordingly, the pick rate of Rimuru and Fallen Cecilia decreased. Emilia, who was frequently picked last season, had a major drop in her pick rate as other Soul Weavers such as Diene, Moon Bunny Dominiel, and Desert Jewel Basar became the main Soul Weavers in the current meta.

As Alencia and Choux became meta Heroes after their balance adjustments, the stall team composition is now centered around the elemental match-up of bruisers, Alencia - Choux - Hwayoung, and Cidd has become the main Hero used in Speed composition against them.

This has been a season where different team compositions have been used, including Speed contesting compositions using Heroes such as Desert Jewel Basar, Straze, Closer Charles, etc., and debuff-centered compositions using Heroes such as Senya, and Archdemon's Shadow.

2. Season Close

With the Hero usage analysis coming to an end, we will now announce an afterword on the Conquest Season.

i) Legend League

The Global server had the highest number of Heirs who finished in Legend League this season again, followed by Asia, and then Korea. Particularly, Japan Server had the highest increase in the number of Heirs who finished in Legend League which proved once again how it produced the winner of the 2022 E7WC.

There has been an increase in average match counts for both Legend and Emperor League during the Conquest season, leading to an increase in cut-off points and the lowest win rate. We believe that this is due to an improved average performance of the high tier Heirs, leading to an increase in overall competitiveness to reach a higher league compared to the previous seasons.

iii) League-specific Data

The average match counts in the Legend and Emperor League increased slightly but they decreased in Champion League and below. We believe that this is due to improvements in Victory Points deduction rules for Gold League and below, and the increase in the number of Heirs between Master and Champion League.

3. Conquest Season – Overall Analysis

This Conquest Season was one that received a lot of interest from our Heirs in World Arena as it progressed along with the 2022 E7WC.

The total match count for Champion League and above increased by more than 20% compared to the previous season. As the Heirs who participated in the E7WC showed their own ways of using various Heroes, Heroes who have not been in the spotlight for long were rediscovered. Overall, this season can be summarized as a season in which the meta continuously shifted within a certain range as team compositions centered around top-tier heroes continually changed.

We are considering several different ways to ensure that various Heroes can be used more frequently in the upcoming season. The current Battle Frenzy effects, which increase the Speed of Soul Weavers, will be replaced with a speed increase for Mages in the next season, as announced in the last Developer Notes. As we've made a few adjustments already, such as adjusting Soul Weaver Heroes' Constellation according to battle frenzy data, we'll continue to monitor other Classes for Constellation adjustments.

In particular, we decided to replace the current Battle Frenzy to increase the Speed of the Mages as there has been a decrease in the usage of some Mages who specialize in debuffs due to how strong Health-based bruisers have been during the Conquest Season. We will continue to adjust the balance by collecting and analyzing various Battle Frenzy effect data while maintaining the characteristics of each class.

We are well aware of and listening to our Heirs' opinions regarding the balance between Speed contesting and stall team composition. Regarding this matter, we will continue to listen to our Heirs' opinions and analyze data in different ways so that the balance scale does not tilt to either side. We plan to maintain its balance by adding new Heroes, implementing balance adjustment patches, and monitoring the changes caused by the new updates.

We understand that the usage of Heroes may change due to ever-changing meta, but we will make sure that our Heirs continue to enjoy using different Heroes in World Arena.

As you may already know, Epic Seven's balance adjustment system has focused on improving Heroes to retain their value of the Hero, rather than diminishing them. We will continue to maintain this direction. However, in Hwayoung's case, her overbearing influence limiting the usage of many Heroes led to her balance adjustment. We apologize once again for the disruption caused by the balance adjustment and will continue to put our best effort to provide a balanced and diverse PvP environment where various Heroes can be used frequently.

We would like to thank you again for playing this season with great passion.

The Epic Seven team will always strive to provide the best gaming experience possible for our Heirs.

Thank you.
