Below I've compiled some tips I wish I knew when starting off Epic Seven. I've put them in order of what I found most important to prioritize and what you might want to know. I've sectioned off these topics into main points, but certain aspects will overlap between topics. To keep each section comprehensive there will be some redundancy to allow you to read it as a standalone tip. Hope you find some of these helpful and get you started on a good foot.
Where do I get more Summons?
When starting off you will often find yourself looking for progression guides that will reference units that you don't have. This is to be expected, as a new heir your hero roster will not be well developed. Fear not, there are always creative solutions to many of these progression roadblocks. But lets first go over how to gain more summons and increase the size of your roster.
Key sources for these will be from:
Daily Free Summon: You get a free covenant summon every day, these don't stockpile so make sure to use it
Skystone Purchasing: You can purchase 50 covenant bookmarks (for 950 Skystones), I would say this is typically not worth it as you will get more bookmarks from Garo Shop refreshes as well as the chance for Mystic Medals. But if you are highly gold starved and unable to buy bookmarks with shop refreshes and would otherwise miss out on a limited unit I say go for it.
Garo Shop refreshes (located in lobby): Every hour this shop will refresh it's wares but for 3 Skystones you will be able to instantly refresh the Garo Shop for a chance to buy covenant bookmarks or mystic medals. I recommend waiting until you max out your shop's level before doing this as you gain the chance to come across perfect substat gear (often buying gear won't be worth it, only buy in the case of perfect substats). Also make sure you have excess gold to buy bookmarks or medals if you come across them. 5 Covenant Bookmarks (1 summon) will cost 184,000 gold and 50 Mystic Medals (1 summon) will cost 280,000 gold. I would focus gold reserves on making sure your gear quality is in a decent state before doing this as often progress itself will grant you access to more resources and make your energy spend more efficient and overall allow you to earn more gold and bookmarks in the long run.
Web Event participation rewards: There will often be a web event or two that is running which will grant you rewards for participating which will net you 15 bookmarks on the 9th day of full participation.
Side Story Rewards: Whenever there is a Side Story running typically we will be able to buy 15 Covenant bookmarks with the Side Story Currency, as well as more bookmarks from the Side Story reputation and clear rewards
Daily Reputation rewards: Daily reputation is a great source for resources you should aim to fully clear these rewards every day as you will not only gain 1 covenant bookmark but also 50 Skystones
Weekly Reputation Rewards: Upon completely weekly reputation you will gain 2 Gold Transmit stones which translates to 1/3 of a Moonlight Summon as you can exchange 6 Gold Transmit Stones for 5 Galaxy bookmarks
Automaton Tower: This is biweekly content that will reward you with Covenant Bookmarks are well as Skystones and other goodies
Abyss: Although this content is a one time clear, the magnitude of the rewards offered are great. You should be able to progress to Floor 70-80 quite comfortably after building a Wyvern 13 team and farming a few weeks. Don't feel pressured to push through this immediately, rewards are definitely great but remember progression in other areas will continuously reward you while this is one-time content.
Monthly Check-in Rewards: Logging in daily will progress your monthly check-in which will grant rewards based on how many days you have checked off, there are many good rewards on top of covenant bookmarks
Event Check-in rewards: On occasion we will also get event check-in rewards that offer additional Covenant bookmarks and/or Mystic medals.
Guild Reputation Rewards: will guarantee 1 summon of a 3-5* hero every week from weekly missions. As long as guild members collectively reach 1500 guild points from weekly guild missions you will gain access an RGB element connection.
World Boss: also has a chance to offer up connections (even greater connections although you will only get 1 connection and you will require 5 for a summon)
Guild War: This will be the main source of Mystic Medals aside from shop refresh, win or lose your guild will gain Mystic Medals although participation and winning will grant you significantly more
Labyrinth: Building a raid team will be very important as this will be a key source of Artifact charms, as well as possible Galaxy bookmarks which are used for a Moonlight Summon (one of the few ways to get a Light or Dark element Hero)
Connections: While progression through the story you will gain access to connections which will offer you the ability to recruit certain heroes by completing missions
SSS Units: Max imprinting units will clear achievements which grant you more Covenant bookmarks, note you can use 3* units to clear this achievement and then sell them for Silver Transmit Stones after (will offer the same amount of silver transmits as if you released them individually). Feeding an SSS unit to another units to SSS it will not count towards the achievements
Friendship: Raising friendship of units will also clear achievements that will grant you Covenant Bookmarks, an easy way to do this is during catalyst farming and using low friendship units against Arena NPCs in both cases using 1 strong unit to carry 3 weak units.
Where do I get more Skystones?
Arena NPCs: Will grant you 3 Skystones on Hard or Hell difficulty, don't be daunted by the "Hell" terminology, your Wyvern 13 Team should have no issue beating these NPCs. Until then just clear Hard as Hell difficulty will grant you more Conquest points.
Weekly Arena rewards: will let you choose Skystones or Mystics Medals the amount based on your placement, Skystones will typically grant you more mileage as you can use them to refresh for both Covenant bookmarks and Mystic Medals. By the time you have completed a Wyvern 13 team and 6* a few units you should be able to comfortably place in Master V. the increase in rewards will not increase much within a league such as Master V vs Master I. But rewards will jump when you enter a higher bracket such as Master I vs Challenger V.
Daily Reputation: Offers 50 Skystones per day if you complete the tasks (they are the same every day)
Sanctuary: While completing the Main Story and Unrecorded history, you will gain Breath or Orbis which are upgrade materials for your sanctuary. Your priority will be upgrading the Heart of Orbis to maximize your Skystone gain. Remember to collect every 12 hours.
How do I get more Gold?
Daily Reputation: As part of the Daily reputation rewards you will gain a 10% gold gain buff for 1 hour, during this hour it is a good idea to use your daily Friendship and Conquest energy, typically on hunts as they will offer the most gold return.
Other areas out of Hunts that are affected by Gold Buff:
Expeditions: While hunting you will also gain access to Expedition Posters, you can hold up to 5 of these posters. When you attack these Expedition Bosses you will gain gold, the gold buff will also apply to this (it's a small amount but it adds up over time).
Side Stories: also have a limited 1 time entry to a Goblin side boss which offers gold, make sure you have your daily gold buff going before clearing this stage.
Automaton tower: has two stages which offer gold rewards, this buff also applies to these rewards.
Additional Gold Buffs: During Hunt Events we will also receive an additional 30% Gold Buff (this stacks with the daily gold buff) so this is the optimal time to use saved energy and leifs on hunts and any of the other above mentioned areas to utilize your gold buff
Penguins: Typically I would recommend only selling Epic Penguins as you gain Silver Transmit Stones but if you're in a pinch you can always convert other penguins to gold. Stigma can be spent to summon penguins in your sanctuary. This is a tip that has helped me purchase Mystic Medals and Covenant bookmarks when in a pinch.
Where do I get more Energy? (Below are some daily sources)
Web Events: Typically have atleast 1 web event constantly running where you are guaranteed 200 energy daily but can gain more from the additional rewards
Watch Ads: This is currently deactivated but you can watch up to 5 Ads a day which each grant you 20 energy (Total 100) this is typically accessible near the bottom of the events page as part of the banners shown on the left.
Guild Energy: If you have an active guild you they will typically grant you energy (up to the people running the guild)
Check-in Energy: Checking in at 4PM EST will grant you 100 Energy every day
Friendship Energy: You can purchase 40 Energy a day from the friendship shop, accessible through the bottom left Shop Menu
Conquest Energy: Similar to the friendship shop you can purchase 40 Energy x3 a day from the Conquest Shop (120 Energy total)
1) Heart of Orbis (MAX): You want to maximize your Skystone gain
2) Steel Working (MAX): You will be crafting gear and spending a lot of gold into this part of the sanctuary
3) From here it's a matter of preference but I would recommend maxing Laboratory and Ingredient Storage of the Alchemist Steeple and Maxing out Forest of Souls, I only spent a single point into High Command to upgrade Barracks and gain access to Conquest point missions. You can always reset how you spent your Breath of Orbis by spending gold so don't be overly stressed on how you spend your upgrades.
I won't go into detail on important topics such Hunts/Expedition/Labyrinth & Raids/How to Roll Gear/Specialty Change/Story Progression/PvP as they they require a much more in-depth guide and are popular topics covered by many great content creators. But wanted to mention them so you know what to look for, I would focus on Story Progression and Hunts first as this will lead to the most progression in my opinion.
For what to pull I would say Top Non-Limited units to look out for are Tamarinne for PvE and Hwayoung for PvP. They are game changing units and will help progress much faster. Otherwise I recommend pulling for limited units if possible, make sure to have atleast 605 covenant bookmarks before pulling as this will guarantee a unit if you have to pity for them.
Good luck out there. Remember like most gacha games it's a marathon and not a sprint. Everything is gated by something, if you pull many new units you might not have the gear to build them, or the catalysts, or the penguins, or the gold to upgrade, or the molagoras to skill them up. Don't feel pressured to rush through all content or you'll burn yourself out quite quickly, this doesn't just apply to Epic Seven.
