Hello Heirs.

This is Epic Seven.

Epic Seven’s Ezeran Foundation Day has passed.  We would like to sincerely thank all our Heirs for being with us. We will always strive to do our best to return for your constant support and love for Epic Seven.

With these balance adjustments, we plan to implement changes to 9 Heroes and 2 Artifacts. These changes are scheduled to take effect following the update on 9/29.

1-1. Hero Balance Adjustments

1-1-1. Moonlight / 5

Straze

Star Extinction (Before)

Star Extinction (After)

Attacks all enemies with a sword. Penetrates Defense of the target with the highest max Health by 30%. When the caster's Attack is greater than the penetration target's Attack, penetration rate increases proportional to the difference, up to a maximum of 100%.

Grants invincibility to the caster for 1 turn. This skill cannot trigger a counterattack.

Penetration Rate Condition Alleviated

Straze is a Hero who can exert overwhelming power if his Attack is greater than the enemy. He is strong when conditions are met, but it was difficult to utilize his full strength in PvP. Therefore, Star Extinction will be improved to not trigger a counterattack and its condition to reach the maximum penetration rate will also be alleviated.  We expect him to contain enemies with high Health and battle more effectively against the enemies who utilize counterattacks.

1-1-2. Covenant / 5

Ravi

Demon's Blood (Before)

Demon's Blood (After)

Increases the caster's Attack by 15% and Effectiveness by 10% when they attack or are attacked. This effect can only stack up to 5 times.

At the moment the caster is attacked, increases Combat Readiness by 15% and gains 5 Fighting Spirit.

Starts the first battle with 40 Fighting Spirit.

Increases the caster's Attack and Effectiveness by 15% when they attack or are attacked. This effect can only stack up to 5 times.

Devil Drive (Before)

Devil Drive (After)

Brutally attacks all enemies, with a 75% chance to stun for 1 turn.

Brutally attacks all enemies, with a 75% chance to stun for 1 turn. Penetrates the target's Defense by 50%.

Damage Dealt Decreased

Devil Drive (Awakened) (Before)

Brutally attacks all enemies, with a 75% chance to stun for 1 turn, decreasing Combat Readiness of stunned enemies by 100%. Penetrates the target's Defense by 50%.

Damage Dealt Decreased

Ravi will be adjusted to gain a certain amount of Fighting Spirit at the start of the first battle so that she can use Devil Drive more frequently. Moreover, her skill, Devil Drive will be changed to penetrate some of the target's Defense so that she is more effective against enemies with high Defense. As Defense penetration will be added to the skill, its attack scaling will be decreased, but the actual damage dealt will be increased. In addition, the increased Effectiveness of her passive skill, Demon's Blood will also be increased.

In line with this balance adjustment, Ravi's Exclusive Equipment Option 2 will be adjusted as follows.

Exclusive Equipment – Option 2 (Before)

Exclusive Equipment – Option 2 (After)

Has a 35% chance to burn for 2 turns when using Slaughter.

Has a 70% chance to make the enemy unable to be buffed for 1 turn when using Slaughter.

As she will have double the chance to make the enemy unable to be buffed instead of the previous effect of granting a low chance to burn the enemy, she will be able to contain various enemies who grant buffs.

As there will be a change to her Exclusive Equipment, players will be able to change the option for this Equipment for 2 weeks after the adjustments have been applied. Exclusive Equipment that had adjustments to their options and was obtained prior to the adjustment is eligible to be changed. When a player changes the options, other effects of the Exclusive Equipment will remain unchanged and option changes cannot be reversed.

Kayron

Void Slash (Before)

Void Slash (After)

Attacks with a sword, with a 50% chance to decrease Hit Chance for 1 turn, dealing damage proportional to the caster's lost Health.

Attacks with a sword, with a 50% chance to decrease Hit Chance for 1 turn, dealing damage proportional to the caster's lost Health.

When this skill is used, if it was not triggered by a Dual Attack and the caster has a buff, this skill changes into an attack that targets all enemies. The changed attack does not trigger a Dual Attack.

Immortal Will (Before)

Immortal Will (After)

Grants immortality for 1 turn when the caster receives lethal damage and resets skill cooldown of Apocalypse. Can only be activated once every 6 turns.

On the caster's turn, when buffed and using Void Slash, the skill will become an AoE attack and does not trigger Dual Attack.

Grants immortality and increased Evasion for 1 turn when the caster receives lethal damage and resets skill cooldown of Apocalypse. Can only be activated once every 6 turns.

Kayron is a Hero who seeks opportunities to turn the table by inflicting great damage after surviving with immortality, which is triggered by his passive skill, Immortal Will. However, he was easily neutralized when his Immortality was dispelled and killed afterward, or debuffed, which made it difficult for him to inflict damage on enemies.

Immortal Will be adjusted to grant Evasion when receiving lethal damage so that he has a chance to resist Immortality dispel and debuffs. In addition, Void Slash will become an attack that targets all enemies if it was not triggered by a Dual Attack.

Aria

Shadow Call (Before)

Shadow Call (After)

Attacks two enemies with shadows, with a 50% chance to decrease Hit Chance for 1 turn. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster's Defense.

Guide of Darkness (After)

As the caster's Health decreases, Critical Hit Damage increases, up to a maximum of 50%.

After using a skill, when Focus is full, consumes all Focus to activate Dark Shadow Phantom.

Dark Shadow Phantom: Attacks all enemies, dispelling two buffs and decreasing Combat Readiness by 30%. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster's Defense.

Increases Critical Hit Chance by 30%.

After using a skill, when Focus is full, consumes all Focus to activate Dark Shadow Phantom.

Damage Dealt Increased

The Umbral Hour (Awakened) (Before)

The Umbral Hour (Awakened) (After)

Barrier Strength Increased

Aria is a Hero who specializes in casting debuffs on enemies, inflicting damage with Counter, and protecting allies. Through these adjustments, her damage, debuff effects, and survivability will be increased to fulfill her role more efficiently.

First, Shadow Call will have an increased chance to decrease the Hit Chance of enemies if not triggered during her turn. It will also have its barrier strength increased. Her passive skill, Guide of Darkness will no longer grant increased Critical Hit Damage as her Health decreases. Instead, we increased the damage dealt on her skills, Shadow Call and Dark Shadow Phantom so that she inflicts high damage more consistently, without losing Health.

Taeyou

Tornado Sweep (Before)

Tornado Sweep (After)

Attacks all enemies, dispelling two buffs, and increases skill cooldowns of the target with the highest Attack by 1 turn twice.  When the caster is enraged, dispelling buffs effect changes into dispelling all buffs.

Attacks all enemies, dispelling all buffs, and increases skill cooldowns of the target with the highest Attack by 1 turn twice.  Increases Speed of the caster for 2 turns.

When the caster is enraged, ignores Effect Resistance.

Tornado Sweep (Awakened) (Before)

Tornado Sweep (Awakened) (After)

Attacks all enemies, dispelling two buffs, and increases skill cooldowns of the target with the highest Attack by 1 turn twice. Increases Attack of the caster for 2 turns.

When the caster is enraged, dispelling buffs effect changes into dispelling all buffs.

Attacks all enemies, dispelling all buffs, and increases skill cooldowns of the target with the highest Attack by 1 turn twice.  Grants increased Attack and Speed to the caster for 2 turns.

When the caster is enraged, ignores Effect Resistance.

Taeyou will be adjusted to contain enemies who use non-attack skills more effectively. Tornado Sweep will be changed to dispel all buffs, and also grant increased Speed to the caster for 2 turns after using the skill. In particular, he will be able to contain enemies more effectively as Tornado Sweep will ignore Effect Resistance when he is enraged due to an enemy using a non-attack skill.

Roana

Noble Rekos (Before)

Noble Rekos (After)

With the grace of Rekos, grants revive to all allies for 2 turns.

With the grace of Rekos, grants a barrier and revive to all allies for 2 turns.  Barrier strength increases proportional to the caster's max Health.

Noble Rekos (Awakened) (Before)

Noble Rekos (Awakened) (After)

With the grace of Rekos, recovers the Health of all allies and grants revive for 2 turns. Amount recovered increases proportional to the caster's max Health.

With the grace of Rekos, recovers the Health of all allies and grants a barrier and revive for 2 turns. Amount recovered and barrier strength increase proportional to the caster's max Health.

Roana's skill, Noble Rekos will be adjusted to grant barriers to all allies. When Awakened, it will grant barriers and recover the Health of all allies so that she can support allies more effectively.

1-1-3. Moonlight / 4

Blaze Dingo

Divine Punishment (Before)

Divine Punishment (After)

Attacks all enemies with a giant gauntlet, healing the ally with the lowest Health.  Amount recovered increases proportional to the damage dealt.

Divine Punishment (Awakened) (Before)

Divine Punishment (Awakened) (After)

Attacks all enemies with a giant gauntlet, with a 75% chance to decrease Defense for 2 turns, before healing the ally with the lowest Health.  A critical hit activates Punishment against a random enemy.

Amount recovered increases proportional to the damage dealt.

Blaze Dingo was originally designed to be used as an offensive Soul-Weaver, who is capable of Healing, Attacking, and granting buffs to enemies. However, it was difficult to utilize him because of him having high setting and operating requirements. To strengthen his weakness, his skill, Divine Punishment will be adjusted to have a chance to decrease Defense.

1-1-4. Covenant / 4

Khawana

Casual Introduction (Before)

Casual Introduction (After)

Attacks all enemies with a flame guardian, before increasing Attack of all allies for 2 turns. When all allies are Fire elemental Heroes, grants all allies skill nullifier once. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster's Speed.

Attacks the enemy with a flame guardian, dispelling two buffs before stunning for 1 turn. Increases Combat Readiness of Fire elemental allies by 20%. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster's Speed.

Khawana is a Hero who can support allies and inflict debuffs or damage on enemies. However, it was difficult to utilize her because the conditions for supporting allies were complex. With the upcoming changes, her skills, Casual Introduction, and Rough Welcome will grant supporting effects to allies if they are Fire Elemental Heroes. We expect Khawana to be used in various team combinations with these changes.

1-1-5. Moonlight / 3

Hasol

Healing Decreased

Blade of Vengeance (Before)

Blade of Vengeance (After)

After an enemy counterattacks, increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 30% and increases the fixed damage of Swift Cut by 1000.  The fixed damage increase effect can stack up to 4 times.

When an ally suffers a counterattack, decreases damage suffered by 25%. When more than one damage reduction effect is granted, only the strongest effect is applied. After an enemy counterattacks, increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 25% and increases the fixed damage of Swift Cut and Punishing Strike by 1000. The fixed damage increase effect can stack up to 4 times.

Punishing Strike (Before)

Punishing Strike (After)

Attacks all enemies with a secret skill and additionally inflicts 500 fixed damage regardless of whether the attack hits. Increases Defense of all allies for 3 turns. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster's max Health. After suffering a counterattack, decreases skill cooldowns by 1 turn.

+1 Turn Cooldown

Punishing Strike (Awakened) (Before)

Punishing Strike (Awakened) (After)

Attacks all enemies with a secret skill, before increasing Defense of all allies for 3 turns, and increasing Speed of the caster for 3 turns. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster's max Health.

Attacks all enemies with a secret skill and additionally inflicts 500 fixed damage regardless of whether the attack hits. Increases Defense of all allies, and grants a barrier to the caster for 3 turns. Damage dealt and barrier strength increase proportional to the caster's max Health. After suffering a counterattack, decreases skill cooldowns by 1 turn.

Damage Dealt Decreased

+1 Turn Cooldown

Hasol is a Hero characterized by her skill, Swift Cut, which grants accumulatively increasing fixed damage when the enemy counterattacks. However, the effect only applied to Swift Cut, which made her difficult to exert influence in a battle.

To strengthen her weakness, fixed damage will be added to her skill, Punishing Strike, and the increased fixed damage from Blade of Vengeance will be applied to all of her skills. In addition, Blade of Vengeance will decrease damage suffered from a counterattack on an ally, so that she can effectively respond to enemies who use counterattacks. Lastly, Punishing Strike, which used to increase her speed, will now grant a barrier instead to improve her viability. If an enemy counterattacks, the Cooldown of Punishing Strike will decrease by 1 turn so that she can use the skill more rapidly.

However, considering her overall direction of adjustment, Healing from Swift Cut, Damage Dealt by Punishing Strike, and increased Combat Readiness from Blade of Vengeance will all be slightly decreased. Skill Cooldown of Punishing Strike will also be increased by 1 turn.

1-2. Artifact Balance Adjustments

1-2-1. Artifact / 5

Magic for Friends

Effect(s) (Before)

Effect(s) (After)

Decreases damage suffered from a critical hit by 25%. When more than one damage reduction effect is granted, only the strongest effect is applied. If an ally is attacked when it's not the caster's turn, has a 15% chance to activate Dimensional Rupture. Dimensional Rupture can only be activated once every 2 turns. The skill effect of this Artifact does not increase when enhanced. (Activated upon death)

Decreases damage suffered from a critical hit by 30%. (Will not activate upon death)

Mercedes Exclusive Artifact, Magic for Friends will be adjusted to increase Mercedes' viability by increasing the decreased amount of damage suffered from a critical hit.  Moreover, to fix the issue where Dimensional Rupture from Magic for Friends is activated before dying and the actual skill effect is not used, only to increase its cooldown, it will no longer activate upon death.

Unfading Memories

Effect(s) (Before)

Effect(s) (After)

Heals all allies by 4-8% after using a non-attack skill.

Increases Effect Resistance by 25%.

Heals all allies by 5-10% after using a non-attack skill.

Unfading Memories is an Artifact that heals all allies when used by a Soul-Weaver who uses non-attack skills frequently. However, it is less utilized than other Soul-Weaver Artifacts. Therefore, we added Effect Resistance, which is a useful stat for Diene and other Soul-Weavers, and also increased its Healing effect.

We also have an announcement regarding the change of schedule for balance adjustments and adding new Exclusive Equipment.

We often had issues where the Balance Adjustment and World Arena Season Schedule were mismatched and there was a Balance Adjustment right before the season ended. To resolve this issue, we will change the next Balance Adjustment schedule and will have our next balance adjustment on 10/27, which is 4 weeks earlier than our regular schedule. Starting 10/27, we will conduct a balance adjustment every eight weeks to prevent the balance adjustment from proceeding at a time when the end of the World Arena season is imminent, which will improve the season letting it proceed more smoothly.

Accordingly, Exclusive Equipment, which was originally planned to be added on 10/27, will be added on 11/24 instead. We ask for your understanding that this is to carefully check the shift of meta caused by regular balance adjustment and then update the Exclusive Equipment accordingly. Starting 11/24, Exclusive Equipment will again be added every 8 weeks.

These are the proposed balance adjustments and improvements that are scheduled for the update on September 29.

Each of the adventure stories of our Heirs echoes throughout Orbis, in the Seventh World.  We are grateful to be with you on your Epic Seven journey. We will continue to try our best to improve the Heroes in our game so that every character can be utilized by our Heirs.

Thank you.

Hmm that dmg redux that's going with Ravi's 50% dpen...I wonder overall if the dmg is higher or not.

Also...Kayron's S1 aoe condition, if used as counter attack and Kayron has a buff, will that also result in an aoe S1? New description seems to support this.

VingyWell SG claims to mold the game to their users desires and the vast majority of  people seem to believe m4f is bs (because it is). Any dev trying to satisfy the people playing his game wouldn't buff such a thing. A good dev would nerf it and a great dev wouldve never put it in the game in the first place. SG wants to buff it.

I like the Taeyou buff, don't know how much more viable it will make him (considering that other than Diene, buff meta is kinda dead + counter attack units are running rampant all over arena) but it's def a good buff overall!

I dont know what are you smoking here, but saying that Mercedes is not viable enough is so bad. But thanks now we might suffer even more rng terror for example in guild war. Big claps for SG. I wonder where is Top Model Luluca buff for example to counter now buffed Mercedes? Dont say you go it later just because of the thrill of overbuffing to just make overbuffed counter later on. I think i will exit this ship, no need for more stress of losing to rng.

I just want to know who tf thought Magic for friends needed a buff? It is already a very strong arti which bypasses the cant be counterattacked skills, can activate at any attack and does a load of damage. Why is it getting a buff by making mercedes more tanky and giving it more chances to proc?

Roana S2 against Counters already OP , she didn't need a fvcking buff .

    • images
      2022.09.16 16:35 (UTC+0)

Well idk about straze, but roana barely got buffed. Yes you have an AoE barrier without soul burn, but you're still apllying barriers everytime you s1, so to me this buff was very redundant. They should make her push back the enemy when she s3's. Probably wouldn't be too OP, like 15-20%

  • images
    2022.09.16 09:34 (UTC+0)

    Straze needed a buff ? Really ?

Srsly thats a wasted balance update spot that should have gone to one of the dozens of heroes that actually need help.

Ravi S3 - you call it a buff, but we`ve seen you do this before. You love to scale the dmg down so hard that skill will actually become worse.

Kayron - so he gets more AoE and evasion now. Is ok, though doesnt fix him.

Meanwhile Briseria still doesnt have one of her core animations (the spindly thing with swords Green and Limited have), her kit still feels incomplete and just randomly thrown together.

Aria and Taeyou - Seems good. Taeyou full dispell and ignore ER makes sense... but there is way to many heroes with this nonsense already. ER is a totally bs stat in this game.

Roana - Meh... add some form of dispell. Even if its just dispell 1 every 2 turns when her S2 procs.

Kawana - better but honestly just drop the Elemental restriction and she`ll be great.

    Hasol - seems good

UM - added ER, considering how this stat fares so far, eh ok

      2022.09.16 21:46 (UTC+0)

which DPS got worse after getting penetration in their kit?

also, I'm sorry, but did you just ask for briseria to have a non attack skill? She's barely useful and you want to make her get wiped by politis?

  • images
    2022.09.16 09:36 (UTC+0)

Changes for Kayron seems good but he's still going to be ass because he can be controlled to death by all the current meta units. If he got a cleanse and then apply said buffs then he'd be very good but for now I think he'll only be good into cleave and it looks like the build is going to be High ER Kayron + Decrescent or any dodge artifacts it looks like.
