Hello. This is Epic Seven.

We would like to inform you that changes have been made to the balance adjustment of the 5★ Covenant Hero, Ervalen, which is scheduled to be applied during the update on 8/4 (Thu).

These changes are scheduled to take effect following the update on 8/4.

Ervalen was originally designed to deal high damage to enemies whose maximum Health was greater than his. However, he has been absent in the current meta in both PvE and PvP. Therefore, we decided to maximize his utility in some content by giving him competitiveness in certain PvE content.

However, fixing the Hero’s usability only on certain content may be different from what most Heirs expect from this balance adjustment, so, following an internal review, we decided to revise the balance adjustment to expand his utility while maintaining his current usability. We apologize for any confusion caused by this.

Ervalen

Sword of Hatred (Before)	Sword of Hatred (After)
Attacks the enemy repeatedly. When the enemy's max Health is greater than the caster's max Health, Combat Readiness of the caster increases proportional to the difference, up to a maximum of 30%. Attacks the enemy repeatedly and grants the caster immunity for 1 turn. When the enemy's max Health is greater than the caster's max Health, Combat Readiness of the caster increases proportional to the difference, up to a maximum of 30%. 	Soulburn (10): Increases damage dealt.
Heir to the Throne (Before)	Heir to the Throne (After)
Attacks the enemy with a sword, adopting a counterattacking stance and granting a barrier to the caster for 2 turns. When the enemy's max Health is greater than the caster's max Health, damage dealt increases proportional to the difference, up to a maximum of 60%. Barrier strength increases proportional to the caster's Attack.	Attacks the enemy with a sword, adopting a counterattacking stance and granting a barrier to the caster for 2 turns. When the enemy is defeated, extends buff durations of the caster by 1 turn and grants an extra turn. When the enemy’s max Health is greater than the caster’s max Health, damage dealt increases proportional to the difference, up to a maximum of 70%. Barrier strength increases proportional to the caster's Attack.
Soulburn (20): Extends the duration of buffs granted by Heir to the Throne by 1 turn and grants an extra turn.

Through this additional adjustment, Ervalen will be improved to be utilized more in various content as he will be granted an extra turn even without using Soulburn when an enemy is defeated by his skill, Heir to the Throne. His Soulburn effect will be transferred to Sword of Hatred and will inflict increased damage when used. In addition, the damage dealt increase proportional to the difference will also be increased. Through these changes, Ervalen will maintain his current usability and will be expected to be used more often in PvP.

BESTGood, they are listening at least a little so half the kit wont be gutted and he wont loose his identity.
Nice to see they rolled in his old SB. In PVP he should be able to land a kill so not having to SB for that extra turn is nice. For Banshee those extra 10% on enemy HP should help a little (how much the difference will be is yet to be seen).

If its still not enough just give him Att% EE, two of the skills can be for PVP and last one for PVE:
S3 "When targetting an elite or boss monster, increase damage dealt by 5 or 10%).
That should be good enough to further solidify his Banshee performance without sacrificing any of his PVP utility.

for flidica case at least she got something so I doubt they will do something more to flidica

I would assume if there were one, it would be here, but please say there will be an adjustment for Rikoris too. His kit is also getting decimated, and the excuse is for him to be better for Caides? Make a dark unit for caides, Rikoris is a really good bulky support unit, and instead of leaning into that, into leaning into his use as a fantastic revenge set unit, you are pivoting him to damage, which he probably wont be even okay at after buffs.

Ervalen wasn't the only mediocre balance adjustment. F.Lidica also deserved something better. She still has no place in the meta. Some of these decisions are so confusing. This solo patch to fix ervalen shows they are listening, but only with one ear. We need balance patches more frequently for older heroes and for more characters. Poor Sez will never see the light of day. Some old patches were also dumb as hell. ML Ken, Spez and Judge Kise still terrible after their patches.

  Ervalen wasn't a 'mediocre' adjustment it was straight up gutting the character into another trash pve boss killer. F.lidica is getting a straight up buff. Yes she won't suddenly overpower every single opener and reshape the meta but it is still a buff. That's how these changes should be. They shouldn't suddenly be violet, arby or any other char that has dominated the meta after a buff.

I LITERALLY RAISED ERVALEN TO ONE SHOT BANSHEE 13 BECAUSE OF THE EXTRA TURN ON HIS S2, I NEED MY TIME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"We will continue to try our best to improve the Heroes in our game so that every character can be utilized by our Heirs." i quite "doubt" it. because, your so called best improvement of heroes are always a from your half-hearted work, not for the best. if people didn't open up, ervalen won't be re-adjustment twice just like this one. and will be the 1st garbage buff(nerf) of your so called best improvement. and at least.. you re-adjust back. it's fine now. but, i hope your balance team are not just 'talk' but 'do' more.

Glad SG has been listening a bit to fans recently. First with Aria, now with Ervalyn. How about ML Vivian getting reverted next? If they could save Aria they can save her.

Also side note glad AI is coming back. Seems we might finally be getting out of this rut.

Omg I am proud of y'all for listening to the people, good job. Thank you for doing that 🥰🥰 I love Ervalen a lot, and one of the things that enhanced him that was his kit was so lore relevant (the bigger the person in his way, the more he wants to tear him down...) so it makes me happy that you listened to your audience and didn't follow through with making him a farmer.
