[GM] Changes to the 5★ Hero Aria’s Illustrations (Change of schedule) [176]

Hello Heirs.

This is GM Dominiel.

(Change of schedule)

We would like to inform our Heirs that the schedule for changes to the 5★ Hero Aria and the 5★ Artifact Scroll of Shadows illustrations, which were planned to be applied with the 6/23 (Thu) maintenance, has been delayed.

Accordingly, the Recall schedule for the 5★ Hero Aria and the 5★ Artifact Scroll of Shadows has also been delayed.

We apologize for any confusion caused by this issue. We will inform you of the schedule with further notice.

Epic Seven team has been asked by Korean GRAC and Apple Appstore age rating monitoring to modify the illustrations of a Hero and an Artifact that do not meet the criteria for the game rating category.

We decided to modify the Hero's illustration according to the App Store policy so that the current rating (12+) can be maintained because there is no separate rating for (15+) in Apple App Store, unlike the Google Playstore.

We ask for your understanding that it was an inevitable decision to maintain the current age rating so that there would be no inconvenience to Heirs using Epic Seven in the App Store.

Accordingly, we would like to inform you about the changes to the 5★ Hero, Aria, and the 5★ Artifact, Scroll of Shadows illustrations.

1. Schedule: ~~6/23 (Thu) after the maintenance~~ ▶Schedule delayed (TBD)

2. Reason: To modify illustrations that do not meet the criteria for the game rating category.

3. Details: Changes will be made to the following

- The 5★ Hero Aria’s illustration, animation, and skill effects

- The 5★ Artifact, Scroll of Shadows

- Other image resources of the 5★ Hero, Aria used in-game and community postings

※ The 5★ Hero, Aria, and the 5★ Artifact, Scroll of Shadows will be available for Recall.

BESTSo let me get this straight.The GAMBLING aspects in Epic Seven aren't a problem? Getting kids addicted to gambling at a young age and putting their future lives at risk is OK, but a bit of nudity gets the korean GRAC up in arms? You're joking right?

Also, just why do those of us who live in Europe or America have to suffer for S. Koreas censorship? Just cover Aria up on the Korean servers and leave her design alone for the other regions. You could also just increase the age rating of the game to 16+ then. Like how many kids aged 12 to 14 actually play this game?

Azur Lane is also rated 12+ on apple and google store, but the amount of skin and lewd characters they have is ten times worse than what Epic Seven has.

This is absolutely pathetic.

BESTWait so how in the world is Apple making a big deal out of this when Azur Lane is 12+ on the app store, and that game has actual softcore **** for the character art? Aria's current art would genuinely be among the mildest ships in AL.

If it's the Korean GRAC causing issues then I don't see a reason why the art shouldn't get censored in Korea only and have other servers just retain the original art with the option to switch to the new one, if Genshin can do that for CN (to generally reasonable response from the CN playerbase) then I don't see why E7 can't.

  I bought the art book. Now I regret doing so, and I'd love a refund on that.
  
  I'm not sure why SmileGate creates characters knowing people will get attached to them, then change them later for marketing purposes and p*ss people off.
  
  I've seen it a few times prior to this, and it always frustrated me, but they're beyond stupid for letting it happen again. Not only are they willingly sacrificing game integrity to appeal to CHILDREN NONETHELESS, they frustrate and upset the people they should want to retain the most. And the fact that Dominiel has the arrogance to say "we apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this may cause". F**k off.
  
  Since they listened to the KR players nuking their ratings to get what they want, I think it's worth considering.

It's a concerning change but at least thank you Smilegate for giving us a refund unlike other greedy gacha which censored characters that people spent thousands on to get C6 and completely ignored their playerbase.

Cool, whale out to SSS my favorite unit and then they decide to change the character on me. Recall doesn't get me my money back. Really hope this stupid change doesn't hit android users as collateral damage from Apple's decision; give us the option to chose what image pack to use. Otherwise I know to spend my money else where since my favorite units can just get yeeted on a whim.

  Actually genshin isn't that great of an example... since those skins are altered on both versions, just that in global you are able to keep the old skin to use ONLY in your owned character, so, The characters are altered on cutscenes, past and future, in banners, character trials, story quests/events and videos/future promotional stuff, so, while it's ''optional'' for global, it is actually not, the change is still forced in general.
  
  Azur lane on the other hand... is the perfect example of when the devs care about their playerbase more than the outrage

Very easy way to get a ton of people to stop spending. Give android users the option for an alternate imagine pack or boost the rating up. Children don't need to be gambling and Azur Lane shows way more at this rating as is.
