Something for new and old players.

Since I know the devs read my posts I'll address them directly. You have lost a loyal customer, and a paying one at that. I like to support things I enjoy and believe in with my money. As it doesn't hold much power in my life I know how paying artists and creatives like some found at SG and SC can be what keeps something going or not. The sad thing is you decided to take that money and not invest in the games future. We can all see the death wails this game is giving out, the signs are there. Giving away the most prized units for free, only making fanservice content (ie, straze, bunny kayron and so on).
One thing about me is I have severe ADHD, playing this game when I started in October of 2019 I found something amazing (I had thought) that really helped my need to play and multitask. Being an artist I dove head first into the fact that they had these amazing hand drawn animations and having a storied RPG background I couldn't believe I could take such a rich, cool anime rpg adventure with me on the go. I was hooked. I started not knowing much but piecing things together. One thing I thought was really cool was they had these nods or proxies to other great things in anime, kind of like league did with contemporary culture. I got more and more into progressing through the story, not really being "ready" for pvp I told myself focus on collecting having fun and get through the story. So I did, along the way I started to see glaring issues, huge gaps in content, major imbalance issues. I came to the forums... and well, saw that this was common. I figured well the game is still new (the devs sure talk about a big 10 year plan) and hey just be patient they are working on it. As we all now can see they weren't. I had to make a poster counting how many days they had neglected basic perfunctory things is this game... 4 days later they were in the game... (guild roster size to 30 being one of them) some still on the way. Literal years have passed in real time with major issues still.
I dug deeper recently and found some horrible things about this companies ethics and history with players. Even them openly admitting they do as much as possible to squeeze the player for money at point. Which I'll take this moment to address the payroll white knights that are bound to pop up. I know it's a company, spending money is a choice, and none of these points make their ethics any less scummy. I know plenty of other companies who have never relied on those tactics and do just fine. And that kind of brings me to the fact that are bailing water out of sinking ship and selling off any valuables... Straze. They have spent the last 7 months selling lies (we all know your company reputation is very bad that is why you lost the deal on the aforementioned collab). And when it finally came time to come clean they kicked the can down the road more hoping we'd all hang on and keep spending. The amount of work being done for the amount of support your game gets is paltry. The lack of transparency and clear motivation to continue to be liars in the industry is a really bad feeling for your customers to have to face.
And lets address the fact that this at the end of the day it cannot even be called an RPG, I mean technically sure but not in the way that matters. A sense of progression and power increase usually accompanies a great RPG. Here years later with almost every unit and gross gear, my chance of winning a match (pve or pvp) is still 50/50. I'm no more "ready" for anything is this game then when I started. Because even at the end of their horribly contrived grinding mechanics meant to slow you down it's still just a coin toss. Which takes us to their odd push for this to be an esport.
NO SELF RESPECTING PROFFESIONAL PLAYER WOULD RELY ON A SYSTEM THAT IS ALL LUCK BASED. Devs read that a million times over, I would love your game to explode on the scene and people to get into the art, anime, all the good stuff about this game. But no one of any merit is going to dedicate time and resources to something that can backfire not for lack of skill or strategy or even good counterplay by the opponent but some random (which is suspect at best in a professional environment)15%. Even your "champion" paid other users to farm his gear... let that sink in. There is ZERO legitimacy to your competitive modes. And you also punish RPG players who love the puzzle type fights that you make. FUN is had when you see your well built team preform as it should when accounted for abilities needed, stats checked and compositions deciphered. Not from rewards or big numbers going up. RPG games are meant to be played and mastered and should feel rewarding when you do. Not random.
Taking all that in you have told the player base these things clearly as of late. We don't care we refuse to fix the mess we made with 15% we are too lazy! We lied and over hyped a collaboration that either never existed or our company lost due to our horrible ethics and reputation! We will continue to put in bare minimum effort and rebrand old and apology content as "new" content! We will ignore actual work on huge issues in lieu of dangling shiny in game objects to entice quick irrational spending!
For those of us that believed your hype, for those that didn't and still wanted you guys to do right by your players. For people like me who was number 182 for preorder for the board game because I genuinely loved this intellectual property and wanted to support it in any way possible and love painting minis (planned to do video series for beginners to help get them into the game). Players who wake up early for patch notes and tune in for the streams. Players who really do give you people jobs at the end of the day. We're not mad, we are disappointed. In the lies, the lack of transparency, the unprofessionalism in customer service, the underhanded comments and insults towards the player base. Just damn tired of hoping this IP was not getting milked ONLY for profit, I want you to make money (that is why I literally shove into your bank account). I think most of us do, just not like you keep going about it, not without using that money to make this a real functioning RPG with a fighting system that rewards you for mastering and grinding in every sense of the word. We want this game to do well, I would love 10 years of a solid game. But at this rate with all the tell tale signs and the company outreach at an all time low it doesn't take a genius to see the money is leaving and so the game will too eventually.
So it saddens me to say but I don't think I can bring myself to spend anymore for this IP, I can't financially back a company who shows such poor ethics and lack of motivation to do their best from the top down. I know this means that some very great hardworking people who love this game too won't be getting that support either. But whoever is in charge is not doing their job properly or else we wouldn't be here. There is no trust that you are going to handle this IP in the way that it deserves. I want to still play and enjoy something I have come to love. But firing it up gets less and less rewarding knowing some of what I know about your company and the future outlook of this IP.
Just research anything in here yourself it's a few clicks away I'm not going to waste my time sourcing it all a second or third time for the white knight squad.
