Hello Heirs! This is Epic Seven.

We sincerely appreciate the interest and support of all of our Heirs who have continued their adventures with us in Epic Seven.

 

With this balance adjustment, we plan to implement changes to 8 Heroes and 2 Artifacts. These changes are scheduled to take effect following the update on 7/8.

 

1. Balance Adjustment Targets

With this balance adjustment, certain Heroes and Artifacts that have been absent in the current meta will be adjusted.

The details of the balance adjustment for the selected Heroes and Artifacts can be seen below.

1-1. Hero Balance Adjustments

1-1-1. Moonlight / 5

Martial Artist Ken

Dragon Flame (Before)

Dragon Flame (After)

Has a 30% chance to counterattack when attacked, with a 100% chance to counterattack with Dragon Flame after suffering a critical hit.
 Dragon Flame (Acquire 1 Soul): Makes a critical hit, dealing damage proportional to the caster's lost Health. This attack receives effects that are applied to the basic skill.

Increases Effect Resistance by 30%.
Has a 30% chance to counterattack when attacked, with a 100% chance to counterattack with Dragon Flame after suffering a critical hit.
Dragon Flame (Acquire 1 Soul): Makes a critical hit, dealing damage proportional to the caster's lost Health.
 
When The Coming of Asura is available, increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 25%. This attack receives effects that are applied to the basic skill.

Attacks all enemies with a powerful ground pound, with a 75% chance to decrease Defense for 2 turns.

Attacks all enemies with a powerful ground pound, with an 80% chance to decrease Defense for 2 turns. A successful attack always results in a critical hit.

The Coming of Asura (Awakened) (Before)

The Coming of Asura (Awakened) (After)

Attacks all enemies with a powerful ground pound, with a 75% chance to decrease Defense for 2 turns, and increase Attack of the caster for 2 turns.

Attacks all enemies with a powerful ground pound, with an 80% chance to decrease Defense for 2 turns, and increase Attack of the caster for 2 turns. A successful attack always results in a critical hit.

 

Martial Artist Ken will be improved to be better prepared against attacks from the enemy that can inflict a debuff, as well as be able to take his turn sooner. 

Using Dragon Flame while his skill 3, The Coming of Asura is available, will increase the Combat Readiness of the caster, allowing him to take his next turn sooner. Martial Artist Ken will have increased Effect Resistance, which will help him better respond against enemies that can inflict debuffs.

The Coming of Asura will now result in a critical hit upon a successful attack, dealing much more damage. It will also have an increased chance to decrease the Defense of the enemy. With these improvements, Martial Artist Ken will bring more variation to battles, making the match more exciting.

Batters the enemy with a scythe. Grants an extra turn when the enemy is defeated. Penetrates the target's Defense by 50%, or by 100% when the target is granted a barrier.

Operator Sigret will be improved to be more specialized in dealing with enemies who are protected by a barrier.

An effect that ignores the Effect Resistance of enemies who are protected by a barrier will be added to Obliterate, which will strengthen her ability to subdue an enemy who has been granted a barrier.
The damage that Annihilation and Obliterate deal will increase proportional to her Speed. The higher the Speed she has, the more powerful she will be in battle.

Holiday Yufine

Just One Bite!  (Before)

Just One Bite!  (After)

Attacks the enemy by tearing up a food market, with a 60% chance to burn for 1 turn. When used on the caster's turn, Just One Bite!  becomes an attack that targets all enemies. Changed attack is unaffected by elemental disadvantage and does not trigger a Dual Attack.

Increases Evasion by 50% when the caster is at max Health.

Increases Evasion by 20%, and increases Evasion by an additional 50% when the caster is at max Health.

Holiday Yufine has been adjusted so that she will have a stronger presence in battle. Her Soulburn effect has also been improved.

Let's Eat Together! has been improved so that it constantly provides an increased Evasion effect to the caster, and when the caster is at max Health, provides additional Evasion to her.

Her skill, Just One Bite!  will have an increased chance to inflict burning and the Soulburn effect for Yufine's  Special will decrease its own skill cooldown, allowing her to better assist her team.


Violet

Graceful Cut (Before)

Attacks with a sword, with a 75% chance to decrease Attack for 1 turn.

Attacks with a sword, with a 75% chance to decrease Attack for 1 turn. When it is not the caster's turn, increases Combat Readiness by 15% and gains double the amount of Focus.

Duel Accepted (Before)

Duel Accepted (After)

Prepares for a duel by dispelling two debuffs from the caster and recovering Health by 15%, before granting an extra turn.
When this skill is on cooldown, increases Evasion by 35% and counterattacks with Graceful Cut following a successful evasion, before gaining 1 Focus.

Prepares for a duel by dispelling two debuffs from the caster and granting perception for 3 turns before recovering Health by 15%. Grants an extra turn to the caster.

Perception: Increases Critical Hit Chance and Critical Hit Damage by 15%. Perception cannot be dispelled.

Acquires 2 Souls

Butterfly Cut (Before)

Butterfly Cut (After)

Pierces the enemy with a sword, and consumes all Focus. Damage dealt increases proportional to the amount of Focus consumed.

Pierces the enemy with a sword, and consumes all Focus. Damage dealt increases proportional to the amount of Focus consumed. When 5 Focus is consumed, resets cooldown of Butterfly Cut.

When Butterfly Cut is available, increases Evasion by 35%, and after successfully evading, counterattacks with Graceful Cut.

 

Violet was initially designed to be an Evasion & Counter-focused Hero, yet he could not show his potential prior to using Duel Accepted.

With these improvements, Violet's Evasion will increase when Butterfly Cut is available, allowing him to have more Evasion immediately upon entering battle.

A new effect, Perception, will be added to Duel Accepted which will potentially enhance the caster's performance. Additionally, Graceful Cut will gain more Focus so that Violet can reset the cooldown of Butterfly Cut more frequently.

When Graceful Cut is used not on Violet's turn, it will increase his Combat Readiness so that each counterattack will grant him the chance to take his turn sooner.

 

Elena

Guardian's Authority (Before)

Guardian's Authority (After)

When an ally suffers an attack that targets all enemies, decreases the damage received by 15% and activates Consecrated Ground. When more than one damage reduction effect is granted, only the strongest effect is applied. Consecrated Ground can be activated once every 2 turns.
 Consecrated Ground: Recovers the Health of all allies. Amount recovered increases proportional to the caster's max Health.

When an ally suffers an attack that targets all enemies, decreases the damage received by 20% and activates Consecrated Ground. When more than one damage reduction effect is granted, only the strongest effect is applied. Consecrated Ground can be activated once every 2 turns.
Consecrated Ground: Recovers the Health of all allies before increasing Combat Readiness of the caster by 20%. Amount recovered increases proportional to the caster's max Health.

 

Elena will be adjusted to provide a better defensive effect for her team.

When an ally suffers an attack that targets all enemies, Guardian's Authority will decrease the damage received more than before.

Additionally, Consecrated Ground will have an additional effect that increases the Combat Readiness of the caster, allowing her to take her next turn sooner.


1-1-3. Covenant / 4

 

Cidd

Relentless Strike (Before)

Relentless Strike (After)

Attacks with a dagger. A critical hit will increase Speed of the caster for 2 turns. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster's Speed.

When the caster is granted increased Speed, uses Whirlwind instead of Relentless Strike.
 Whirlwind: Attacks the enemy repeatedly, decreasing Defense for 1 turn. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster's Speed.

Wind's Resolve (Before)

Wind's Resolve (After)

When the caster is granted increased Speed, Relentless Strike is enhanced to deal more damage and decreases Defense of the enemy for 1 turn.

A critical hit will increase Speed of the caster for 1 turn, with a 100% chance to grant a random buff for 1 turn. A random buff can be granted once per turn.

 Random buff: Increase Critical Hit Damage, Increase Effectiveness, Increase Evasion, Debuff Immunity

Cidd will now be more powerful when he lands a critical hit.

The effect for Wind's Resolve will be transferred to Relentless Strike with changes.
 The damage the enhanced Whirlwind used to inflict will become the default and it will do slightly more damage at each skill enhancement level.

Wind's Resolve can now increase the Speed of the caster instead of Relentless Strike after the update.

Landing a critical hit will increase Cidd's Speed regardless of the skill used as well as grant a random buff.

When using Attack Chain, if all allies are Earth elemental Heroes, increases the chance to decrease Defense by 20%.

 

Mercenary Helga will have improved performance when fighting against certain team compositions.

The Wedge Rune's effect that decreases Defense will be transferred to Attack Chain and that Rune will have a new effect that will increase the chance to decrease Defense when all allies are Earth Elemental Heroes.
 Cry of Victory will now have an effect to increase the Combat Readiness of the caster, allowing the caster the chance to use her skills more frequently.


1-2. Artifact Balance Adjustments

Doctor's Bag

Dispels one debuff from all allies and recovers 20% of each ally's max Health after using non-attack skills 3 times. Can only be activated once per battle.

Dispels one debuff from all allies and recovers 14% of each ally's max Health after using a non-attack skill. Can only be activated once every 3 turns.

 

Doctor's Bag will be improved to provide constant assistance in keeping the team healthy.

The condition of using a non-attack skill 3 times will be changed and will now require the use of a non-attack skill only once, however, the amount of Health that is recovered has been reduced.

Also, the effect can now be activated once every 3 turns.

 

Shepherd of the Hollow

Increases Evasion by 20%.

Damage dealt increases by 20% if the caster's Health is below 25% when attacking.

Increases Evasion by 20%.

Damage dealt increases by 12% when attacking, and as Health decreases, damage dealt increases, up to a maximum of 24%.

 

Shepherd of the Hollow will be improved to be easier to use and will deal more damage as the caster's Health decreases.

This Artifact will now increase Evasion by 20% regardless of its level.

An effect that increases damage dealt at all times will be added, and it will increase the amount of damage dealt even further as the caster's Health decreases.

 

These are the proposed balance adjustments and improvements that are scheduled for the update on 7/8. The opinions each of you have shared in each of our communities continue to be one of the best sources of inspiration. We hope to hear the opinions of our valuable Heirs about the changes that have been proposed for this balance adjustment.

    BESTOP sigret buff out of nowhere shes decent cleave pick, and counter pick already.. Would be nice to see a.ravi receive buff , since shes worse pick than her fire version.


    I can see this op sigret buff as an attempt to get her faster so you proc carrot shield and nuke her afterwards with opsigret , which is possibility


    The buffs itself looks decent ,  (hopefully opsig wont be overkill) And ml ken will actually work with this change since its a bit confusing with that cr push.


    Also hopefully next balance a.ravi will be buffed (could be possibility they are avoiding to buff her now because shes coming to coin shop which would make some people upset and think they buff her to sell her)

      epic7#hnwfjcShe was buffed while her banner was still up and bug fixed. ML kawerik isn't broken so he doesn't get the same treatment. Your appropriate comparison would be landy and cerise, which both were buffed months after their release. So with them as the standard expect his buff to be down the road.

    Come on.. for real, ML ken feels so broken.. he is now a cleaver.. free crit damage coz of no elemental disadvantages.


    Well. Tho he seems broken now. He still easy target for LQC.. his equipment requirement is greatly reduce with this balance update..


    Im waiting for archmeru and mort actually, well. Maybe they still in analysing phase. Hope they get the buff they really need..


    As for Luna, sorry guys.. seems like luna dodging again..

      MaborozukiSeal is an incredibly strong debuff that can straight up hard counter a huge number of heroes with zero cooldown and no hit check, and the only drawback being that without soulburn it's 75% and it has to check against ER. Her passive is an aoe charles s1>s2 combo with 25% self cr push(and like charles it doesn't need to be on her turn or have a turn restriction), and then an unconditional 30% crit damage reduction. Sorry this part of her kit will likely never be buffed, as it's so strong that the rng aspect is what keeps it in check. S3 is the only somewhat lackluster part of her kit, and that's just due to the fact it's just free damage without anything special. By no mean is her S3 bad. Buffs should be for characters without a place in the meta, and A.merc definitely has a place. If anything buffs for these characters(op. sig for example) should not be handed out.

      SBA was buffed as she had virtually completely fallen off. This is not the case with a.merc.

      The CafeKaz is just an exemple of VOD where you can see me using him , since i'm no youtubeur/streamer i don't save my matches . I have 1v4'ed/1v3ed a lot with him before buff . He was just very situational , and , again , only playable if one of the main ennemy threat is water, who were before the Carrot meta mainly Kise and SSB.


       You think Kise could one shot Violet with s2 even if it hit ??? Are you even playing Violet or yours is 11k hp 700def ? by the time she s3 and s2 Violet is still alive and can apple and she can no longer hit him .


      against SSB yeah , you fed her 1 stack everytime you counter but it doesnt matters , when you play Violet he is here to solo , SSB can't do **** against him what matter is to kill all the others and ignore her in most cases .

      I am not "mad" he is stronger . It's just that it became harder for me to use him since EVERYONE is using him now, unlike back then where i was one of the few that was using him so it was very easy to play him and people didn't ban him at all . Now he is feared and people are more aware of what he do. 


      "Don't be ridiculous. He had no evasion at the start of a fight and always lost it when s2 was ready to use again. He had extremely high stat requirements and his s3 was trash."


      I agree it was hard to pull him , he was not playable vs a lot of things like cleave , STene(who i permabanned before) , and somewhat the GL Landy's. Like i said he was situational before and strong against water , now that he have perma dodge he is obviously A LOT better . My point is that he was NOT trash before but SITUATIONAL.  And his s3 is litteraly the same except the Evasion link part *** ??

      0.15 for 4% max hp

      0.05 for 5% max hp

      0.6 for 10% max hp


      The S3 didn't had a much more drastic reduction as he gets a situational 40% armor penetration.


      So the situation is say 3360 attack(wep+150% attack) and 17175 hp(helm+150% hp)

      S1 - Lost 504 from attack and gained 687 from hp

      S2 - Lost 168 from attack and gained 859 from hp

      S3 - Lost 2016 from attack and gained 1718 from hp


      So do you know what a nerf is?


      edit: Nevermind the fact that rather than a 30% chance to give himself attack buff on attack he can get a passive 30% increase to attack after 5 attacks that stacks with attack buff.

    OP sigret buff out of nowhere shes decent cleave pick, and counter pick already.. Would be nice to see a.ravi receive buff , since shes worse pick than her fire version.


    I can see this op sigret buff as an attempt to get her faster so you proc carrot shield and nuke her afterwards with opsigret , which is possibility


    The buffs itself looks decent ,  (hopefully opsig wont be overkill) And ml ken will actually work with this change since its a bit confusing with that cr push.


    Also hopefully next balance a.ravi will be buffed (could be possibility they are avoiding to buff her now because shes coming to coin shop which would make some people upset and think they buff her to sell her)

    New doctor bag fits perfectly with new elena, maybe she can be used as a basar counter now. Also, doesn't violet update reduce his already-nonexistent prowess in defense teams? (unless they changed his ai to not use s3 until he has full stacks or something)

      She is actually hard counter to the Carrot when paired with Docs Bag and Counter set. Also shuts down almost all the turn 1 Control Teams too. The meta will change very drastically after this season.

    COME ON, another helga buff? While we leave other SC's that havent gotten changes in the dust again?

    Ive been waiting for a roozid buff for years now, but at this point ill take a buff to any other sc's. Just stop changing helga, im begging you


    ML sigret buff is 100% unneeded, shes already picked enough, why buff her when there are a ton of other units (Mort/Senya/etc) that people are ASKING for buffs to? i dont get this buff structure

    NGL this feels like an ML Ken nerf, changes makes no sense and wouldn't help him in any significant way, except to lose his immu/atk buff quicker

      epic7#rvukmnThat's a ****** bad thing they are forcing us to build him with RES and it's hard if you don't have him SSS without loosing to much damage/tankiness . I dislike that they are forcing us to a single way to build and he is still Sigurd dependant

      Harmonia96Problem is that this buff isn't clearly a buff, but trying to change the way he is built like you said. The CR boost and s3 guaranteed crit does nothing but funnel his playstyle into setting up for a cleave or cleaving on the first turn, and then subsequently be more useless than before by cycling through pointless s1 that will most likely not crit at all because of how he is built and wasting buff durations.


      Honestly this wouldn't make him more viable at all and will just continue to funnel him into niche uses like he was before. They could had just not changed him and people wouldn't be so mad, rather than forcing a new build for him when there are already establish uses for him currently such as counters to specific gw team comps. And with these changes he probably wouldn't be considered in balance patches for a long time coming as well, just disappointing really
