Character variety? [14]

Hi! This is my first time ever writing here, so I apologize for any mistakes.

I'm curious about the character development. What sparked me to write here was that I saw another up-coming character and they were, yet again, surprise surprise, white and very busty. Is there are a reason why there is absolutely zero character variety? Why are most of the (especially) women characters like copy-paste of each other with different clothes and hairstyles? Most of the character are also very sexualized (and I'm sorry but seeing like Achete's underwear is just creepy. She's like, what, fourteen or something??) too, with very big chest with creepy bounce physics.

I see the lack of variety in a lot of games that come from the Asian market. Azur Lane, for example, is also VERY sexualized and like E7, predominantly, white.

The designers and developers should know that it's allowed, if not even encouraged, to have different looking people in the game. As long as their kit works and they are more or less useful, people will play them regardless.

I tried to submit this directly to customer service but the links take me back to the main page every time. Like "Tap here to message our customer support team" takes me nowhere.

BESTIlynav isn't white though. She has a light tanish skin tone. Inferno Khawazu is another unit that will come out once the moonlight rotation for Mediator Kawerik is over, and as we can see from his preview, he is not white.

BESTYou said it yourself these are Asian games. Asians like pale skin. Although races like 'white, black or asian' don't really exist in these games. At least far from how they are in real world.

I don't know how to reply in the comments but @Ikukotsu I know there are few people with tan skin and that's very nice. Most are still white. Other ethnicities do exist.

@Zienn Yup, Asian games do share these problems, My god, I wish they would broaden their horizons a little. And I tried the Inquiry to send a suggestion and it went on a loop to the main screen.

@TheLate Yes, other ethnicities do exist throughout the world, however, just because they exist does not mean that they will be added into the game.

As for contacting customer support to send an inquiry, you can submit a 1:1 ticket to customer service in game, from the lobby -> settings -> select customer service. From there, you can choose the category and inquiry, which can be found at the bottem of the page. You can also submit a inquiry ticket to customer support online here : https://help.onstove.com/mobile/faq/serviceMain/page?game=1808080001

@IkuKotsu It would be wonderful if even some of them would be added into the game. It's all just white and slightly tanned now. Here's to hoping.

That's how I tried to do it. Customer Service -> Suggestions -> I have a suggestion -> I pressed that ->Tap here to message our customer support team or Tap here to visit our official STOVE community -> I pressed the customer service -> back to the main menu I go.

@TheLate I don't think you're pressing what I told you. Don't click "Tap here..." options because they'll send you back to the forum. Click Inquire that is next to the star rating. I just realized it's on the right on one browser and in the middle on another.

@Zienn I found it now, I think. It was underneath it. Definitely not in a very good place. They should highlight or accent it or something, I missed it so many times.

@epic7#i9s69k[STOVE134129252] It sells better? Perhaps. But I think it's really, really sad that you have to sexualize characters in your game just to make it sell. You can't make a game that will give you profit without that? *** damn, that is sad as hell. If one of the main points in your game is to pop out copy+paste characters with sexualized features, I think it's time for a career change.

@tfasyfu[STOVE152059424] I hope you get it soon. Currently, it's Thursday, ha ha ha ha ha

"I think it's really, really sad that you have to sexualize characters in your game just to make it sell."

If this is your first time ever hearing the phrase "sex sells" then I don't really know what to say to that.

The playerbase is predominantly male. If there was a game tailored to females it would be mostly hyper-masculine chads because that's what *most* women would favour. And there's nothing wrong with that either.

"If one of the main points in your game is to pop out copy+paste characters with sexualized features, I think it's time for a career change."

I don't know how old you are but this is definitely not exclusive to this game or games in general. When I said "welcome to life", I meant it. All companies are literally bound by law to generate maximum revenue. so why create token heroes that wont sell as well.

Your thread was also about diversity, not sexualization. The fact is that even when considering real-life $exual preference, white skin is almost universally liked.

@epic7#i9s69k Excuse me? Are games nothing but fa.p material to you? Because I'm sick and tired of this idiotic argument. Not every game, even with predominantly male audience, is hyper sexualized. That's not what makes a game good nor what helps winning awards etc. Do you know how many games out there use this cheap tactic, that is sexualization, to increase interest in their game and ail miserably?

There's plethora of games both mobile and non-mobile that don't do that and they're widely successful. Look at League It's obvious most players are men. But in spite of that there's a couple of male characters that are very popular who get skins quite frequently.

Look at Genshin, out of 5 most profitable banners 3 are male. Does it mean the game is being carried by gays and straight women? Obviously not. So stop spreading this cockamamie notion that it's about sexuality. This is not a dating sim or an ero game.

Take a seat. Nowhere did I say all games are this way. So don't even try putting those words in my mouth.

"That's not what makes a game good nor what helps winning awards etc."

No. It's what generates the most money, which is the only thing any company is legally bound to be concerned about.

"Do you know how many games out there use this cheap tactic, that is sexualization, to increase interest in their game and fail miserably?"

How many have succeeded? Are movies different?

    "Look at League"

Yes let's compare two completely different genres where one has very little emphasis on models because it's a birds-eye view.

"Look at Genshin, out of 5 most profitable banners 3 are male"

And? You're conflating kits with looks. No player with avid interest in a game is gonna turn down an OP hero because of their gender. That's asinine. But many do roll on otherwise subpar heroes strictly because they're a buxom beauty or masculine chad. That's why you see "BOOBA!" everywhere.

    Deal with reality.
