Hello Heirs! This is Epic Seven.

We sincerely appreciate the interest and support of all of our Heirs who have continued their adventures with us in Epic Seven.

With this balance adjustment, we plan to implement changes to two Heroes. These changes are scheduled to take effect following the update on 3/31.

1. Balance Adjustment Targets

With this balance adjustment, certain Guilty Gear collaboration Heroes who have been absent in the current meta or used only in limited areas will be adjusted. The target for these adjustments can be seen below.

Hero

Grade

Name

5 Covenant

Sol

5 Covenant

Elphelt

The probability and number of turns are based on fully enhanced characters.

Skill Cooldowns will not be changed unless stated.

The skill descriptions mentioned in this preview may differ from the actual update.

1-1. Hero Balance Adjustments

Attacks an enemy with pillars of fire. Damage dealt increases when the enemy isn't buffed. Activates Roman Cancel when the caster's Fighting Spirit is 100 after attacking. Cannot be triggered by a counterattack.
Roman Cancel: Consumes all Fighting Spirit and extends the duration of buffs granted to the caster by 1 turn, before granting the caster an extra turn.

Acquire 20 Fighting Spirit

Volcanic Viper (Before)

Volcanic Viper (After)

Activates Volcanic Viper when an enemy uses a non-attack skill or when the caster is attacked by an Elite or Boss monster. Can only be activated once every 2 turns.
Volcanic Viper (Acquire 2 Soul): Launches the enemy into the air and attacks repeatedly, inflicting silence for 2 turns. Damage dealt increases proportional to the enemy's max Health.
Roman Cancel: When the caster's Fighting Spirit is 100 at the end of an ally's turn, the caster consumes all Fighting Spirit and extends the duration of buffs granted to the caster by 1 turn, before granting the caster an extra turn.

When an enemy uses a non-attack skill, increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 20% and gains 20 Fighting Spirit. When suffering an attack that targets all allies, activates Volcanic Viper against the attacker. This effect is not activated by a counterattack, Dual Attack, or extra attack. Each effect can only be activated once every 2 turns.

Sol / Lv. 60, 6 Awakened

Before

After

Health

5340

5542

With the aforementioned changes, Sol will be more suitable for a variety of in-game content while retaining all of his strength.

The current version of Volcanic Viper tended to be activated somewhat rarely due to the overlapping activation conditions, and a shared cooldown time also limited the effectiveness of this skill.

Volcanic Viper will now be activated when the caster suffers an attack that targets all allies. Also, his new passive effect will benefit the caster by providing both Combat Readiness and Fighting Spirit when the enemy uses a non-attack skill. Additionally, his effects will no longer share a cooldown.

Gunflame will be improved as to always gain Fighting Spirit, regardless of whether or not he lands a Critical Hit. Similarly, Tyrant Rave ver. Beta will be improved to deal additional damage regardless of whether the attack hits. In addition to these changes, Sol's Health will be slightly increased.

With these improvements, we hope to see Sol become a more meaningful member of a variety of teams in various Epic Seven game content.

Elphelt

Barrage (Before)

Barrage (After)

Fires a barrage of bullets at the enemy, with a 75% chance to make them unable to be buffed for 1 turn.

Judge Better Half (After)

Traps the enemy in a cake, before attacking them with a cake-cutting blade and increasing Critical Hit Chance of all allies for 2 turns. When the enemy is defeated, also decreases Defense of all remaining enemies for 2 turns. Damage dealt increases proportional to the number of debuffs inflicted on the enemy.

Magnum Wedding (Awakened) (Before)

Magnum Wedding (Awakened) (After)

Shoots a bullet of love at the enemy, dispelling one buff, before a 100% chance to put them to sleep for 1 turn and decrease Defense for 2 turns. Grants the caster an extra turn.

Dispels two buffs from the enemy before shooting a bullet of love, with a 100% chance each to put them to sleep and decrease Defense for 2 turns. Grants the caster an extra turn.

With these changes, Elphelt will be improved to be easier to utilize in battle, as well as increasing her contributions in a fight.

Magnum Wedding will now remove buffs from the target before it deals damage, which enables the skill to put the enemy to sleep and decrease Defense more effectively. Another thing to note is that this skill will put the enemy to sleep for 2 turns now instead of 1, allowing you to use the skill more strategically.

Judge Better Half will be changed so that it decreases the Defense of all enemies when it hits an enemy inflicted with the Sleep debuff. It also has a new effect which increases the Attack of all allies to make follow-up attacks more effective.

Barrage and Judge Better Half's basic damage and damage proportional to the number of debuffs inflicted on the enemy will also be improved. Additionally, Judge Better Half's increased basic damage and debuff skill enhance effects will allow Elphelt to contribute more in battles for newer players.

We hope to see Elphelt have a more meaningful contribution in battles with these improvements.

These are the proposed balance adjustments and improvements that are scheduled for the update on 3/31. The opinions you have shared in each of our communities continue to be one of the best sources of inspiration. We hope that our Heirs will give us their valuable opinions about the changes that have been proposed for this balance adjustment. We are also looking forward to seeing your excitement about the Epic Seven x Guilty Gear collaboration.

Thank you.

A rework is a nerf and a buff simultaneously. For me this a a nerf more so than a buff as I used him as fire Celine and kayron counter. I can no longer use him as a fire Celine and that is a nerf to my draft even if it might be a buff to the draft of others

keep nagging like one of those other ungrateful bunch of oxygen waste. there are many heroes who can dispel more buffs then elphy for example Hurado. if you don't like her rework then don't use her

I usually hate how weak the buffs typically are but these seem legit decent and may actually have the effect of improving the units playrate. Please do these level of buffs all the time.

So she could dispel buff from ML Violet and ML Ken safely now, right? This mean we have 5 reliable buff dispeller heroes in the game now. (F. Kluri, Cerise, Melissa, Elphelt, Emo elf)
Because many dispellers outside these 5heroes become useless if enemy have counter attack or evasion.

This might be a good sign that other buff dispeller might get similar treatment in the future ,especially Eda. I saw no one talk about her and rarely saw her fan art though she's recently released.
Her skills even has less mechanic than old hero like ML Rin

anyway good job SG for the buff

epic7#zg50weCerise because invicibility and eda because her stun, so they wont getting dmg from counter

I'm happy for Elphet but why change the trigger condition of volcanic viper. From my point it's more a nerf than a buff

STOVE144467704"With this balance adjustment, certain Guilty Gear collaboration Heroes who have been absent in the current meta or used only in limited areas will be adjusted. "

I mostly only used Sol for Golem hunt, as i think most everyone used him for that too. He got a buff for that, yes. But for PvP it's indeed a nerf. it was a nice counter for green violet, vivian, ruele, etc. now he's an anti-cleaver somewhat, except he's not that durable to start with, even with the minimal HP increase he'll receive...
One can build him tanky, but he'll become kinda useless.

Also, imagine arby on the other side:
      - descending blade!
      - vorucanic vaipa!
      - death/revive/ descending blade!

all this on the same turn. arby now is a g.o.d. against Sol lol (edited due to censorship)

MorgensolI'm in the same boat as you, I used him to mess up TMLulu's s2->s3 combo. Wish they kept Viper activating on non-attacks and just added an "and aoe attacks" clause onto it. The CR boost is similar, but now we have to sacrifice power for speed and durability to stand up to multiple aoes to see much benefit

Agreed overall, this is both buff and a nerf

    - Elphelt buffed ? yeah this is right , like I said many time she need to def break even target defeated or not . after this buff Elphelt will be top choice of def breaker heroes .

    - Sol ,this is crazy new bruiser just arrive on the field  he has potential to be a Riolet killer , counter Cleave , PVE one shot king what else do you want?

Luna need buff too so when ?

elphelt rework (my opinion, don't get triggered)

    downside

    - people who relies on her crit chance buff are screwed (me included) and need to re-gear their teams.

    - if enemy is not asleep but you manage to defeat the enemy using elphelt s2, the decresed defense debuff won't proc anymore.

    upside:

    - opens up another team comp with sleep debuffer especially mage (tagahel arti to soulburn) to make her s2 proc teamwide def break due to sleep debuff.

    - dispel 2 debuff on s3 means she can go against tanky unit (usually with barrier & immunity buff) and try to def break max 2 times (s3 & s2 if enemy sleep).

    - defeating enemy using s2 is not a must anymore, so she can be build superfast too now.

    - attack buff after s2

I mean tbh theres really no downside, imo elphelt was a suppose to be an opener in the first place but smilegate went oopsie all over her kit. How are you suppose to be fast enough and have the damage to spread the defense break with those multipiers? *** tier gear thats how, something most the community does not have unless whale. They said baiken was expensive, but all ya need is all damage equiped and a cr pusher, bam she even kills the tanks while pushing the rest of the team (useful). This isnt a touch up, buff or nerf, this is a fix

    • images

not really sol s2 has 2 turn cd so if landy don't go 1st then she is safe

    2021.03.18 10:01 (UTC+0)

Well thanks for ruining my Celine,Sol,Politis combo on an enemy that uses a non attack skill(Sol attacks the target that uses the non attack skill,Celine attacks the target with the highest attack and Politis strips and attack all enemys...all that after a single non attack skill)

Also, now when a boss attack Sol with single target skill,he will do nothing.

Not sure about Sol how good he'll get. But I like all the improvements, especially interesting is what kind of additional damage S3 has. Perhaps with a high ATK and Uberius it will look good.

But Elphelt potentially has a high chance of becoming an OP. A character with a strip of 2 buffs before(!) the attack (hello Riolet). 2 turns def break and sleep! And also the possibility of soulburn for 100% effect (ignore resist). And skill 2 is at the same time a single target nuke, AoE 2 turns def break and AoE Atk buff.

What comes out: AoE def break + Atk buff - this is already an incredibly strong utility for one character and, moreover, in 1 skill. And also control (sleep 2 turns) and single target nuke. This opens up a whole range of options. For example, with Sashe Ithanes, she can become an opener, etc ...I'm really glad, but maybe this is a bit overkill, but time will tell.

Sol can insta kill Kayron bec, of that extra attack. We usually put +30uberius(100% proc chance) with him to proc an extra attack to kill him but now you can use portrait for more damage. With this you can simply build SOL fast and kill Kayron easily.

Elphelt is an upgraded version of Melissa bec she can set up a potential cleave with atkbuf+defbreak
