Hello,
 This is Epic Seven.

Within this Developer Note is information regarding the regularly scheduled balance adjustment that is planned to occur on 6/11 (Thu). Based on the valuable opinions that our Heirs have given us through our various community channels, we have conducted an in-depth review of Epic Seven’s game data and are planning to make adjustments so that less used Heroes are selected. We also plan to improve the AI of other Heroes who had trouble reacting in certain situations.

In addition to these changes, this upcoming balance adjustment will also include changes to Exclusive Equipment for certain Heroes, with the result being that certain Exclusive Equipment Options will be added to their skills. As a result, Heirs who had used Exclusive Equipment that is scheduled to be changed will be given the opportunity to change the affected Exclusive Equipment Option for a set amount of time following the update. Changes to Exclusive Equipment are slated to occur in the update planned for 6/11 (Thu). We will provide our players with more detailed information in a separate notice.

1-1. Hero Balance Adjustment

1-1-1. Moonlight / 5

Ambitious Tywin

Battle Command (After)

Flash (Awakened) (Before)

First, we would like to thank the community for providing their valuable feedback regarding Ambitious Tywin. Ambitious Tywin was designed to be a Hero that could immediately respond to being debuffed and assist his allies, but it was confirmed that his key passive ability, Battle Command, was difficult to activate due to the condition that it would only be activated when he had been debuffed.

With this upcoming balance adjustment, the conditions for activating Battle Command have been expanded to not only activating when Ambitious Tywin has been inflicted with a debuff, but if anyone on your team has been debuffed, thus increasing the chance for his skill to be activated.
With this adjustment, we hope to make it so that players don’t feel burdened by using equipment that intentionally lowers Ambitious Tywin’s Effect Resistance and we hope this allows him to play a more active and well-rounded role in battle.

Additionally, for his skill Flash, the two-turn Unhealable debuff has been replaced with a one-turn Stun debuff after being awakened, allowing for Ambitious Tywin to serve in a support position in many different situations. With this balance adjustment, we hope that you will use Ambitious Tywin, who will be able to be used more effectively in a variety of different situations.

1-1-2. Covenant / 5

Charlotte

Dual Swords (Before)

Dual Swords (After)

Attacks with dual swords, with a 35% (Max 50%) chance to decrease Attack for 1 turn. When the caster is buffed, Dual Swords becomes an attack that targets all enemies when used on the caster's turn, and the caster's Combat Readiness is increased by 20% after attacking. This attack does not trigger a Dual Attack.

Attacks with dual swords, with a 35% (Max 50%) chance to decrease Attack for 1 turn. When the caster is buffed, Dual Swords becomes an attack that targets all enemies when used on the caster's turn. This changed attack always triggers a critical hit when it hits, and the caster's Combat Readiness is increased by 20% after attacking. This attack does not trigger a Dual Attack.

Vortex (Before)

Vortex (After)

Cuts all enemies while spinning, with a 75% chance to make them unhealable for 2 turns.

Cuts all enemies while spinning, making them unhealable for 2 turns.

Vortex (Awakened) (Before)

Vortex (Awakened) (After)

Cuts all enemies while spinning, with a 75% chance to make them unhealable for 2 turns. A successful attack always results in a critical hit.

Cuts all enemies while spinning, making them unhealable for 2 turns. A successful attack always results in a critical hit.

Since Charlotte’s remake which occurred in the first week of March, many of our Heirs have expressed their valued opinions about her changes. Charlotte was able to attack all enemies by granting buffs to herself with her skill, Will of the Swamp. However, due to an inconsistency with her 1st and 3rd skills’ concepts, she had high equipment requirements. Now that Dual Swords can also grant a critical hit, instead of focusing on increasing Critical Hit Chance, players can choose equipment that increases Attack or Critical Hit Damage for a more aggressive build, or prepare for longer battles by investing in more defense-oriented builds.

Additionally, Charlotte’s skill, Vortex now has an increased probability of inflicting the debuff, Unhealable. We hope that these changes to Charlotte will make her more powerful so that she can be used in many different team combinations.

Destina

Regen (Before)

Regent (After)

Blesses an ally, recovering their Health and increasing their Combat Readiness by 30%. Healing increases proportional to the caster's max Health.

Blesses an ally, recovering their Health and increasing their Combat Readiness by 50%. Healing increases proportional to the caster's max Health.

Exclusive Equipment – Option 2 (Before)

Exclusive Equipment – Option 2 (After)

Increases the target's Combat Readiness by 20% when using Regen.

Has a 30% chance to reset skill cooldown of Regen when using Regen.

Destina is a Soul Weaver who can turn the tide of battle against enemies that inflict debuffs. However, the long cooldown time on her skills and her speed made it difficult to use her properly. Although some improvements were made to her usability through her Exclusive Equipment, she was still far behind in performance considering the importance of each turn in a battle. Also, compared to other Soul Weavers, she was not as versatile in other content.

With this update, the Combat Readiness increase, which was previously enhanced via her Exclusive Equipment, will be incorporated into her base skill, and her existing Exclusive Equipment will be changed so that it now provides the probability of resetting the cooldown for her skill Regen.
The increase of the base effect for Regen will help improve Destina’s impact in battles, and the changes to her Exclusive Equipment will allow her to create more favorable situations in Arena battles.

Lilibet

Soul Cutter (Before)

Soul Cutter (After)

Slashes the enemy with Cho & Mal, inflicting extinction when the enemy is defeated. Grants the caster skill nullifier, negating damage received from the next skill attack.

Slashes the enemy with Cho & Mal, inflicting extinction when the enemy is defeated. Grants the caster skill nullifier once, negating damage received from the next skill attack. Hit Chance is increased by 20% when using this skill.

Exclusive Equipment – Option 3 (Before)

Exclusive Equipment – Option 3 (After)

Increases Hit Chance by 20% when using Soul Cutter.

Increases damage dealt by 10%.

Lilibet is a Warrior whose key role is to prevent enemies from utilizing their resurrection ability through the extinction effect granted by Soul Cutter. To allow her to be effective in this role, Lilibet was given Exclusive Equipment which increased her Hit Chance. However, since the ability to increase Hit Chance was exceptionally useful to Lilibet, players were limited from choosing other options.

Through this update, Soul Cutter's increased Hit Chance will be incorporated as a base stat, and the effect of existing Exclusive Equipment will be changed to increase the amount of damage she can deal. As a result, if this Exclusive Equipment is used with Soul Cutter, it will be easier for her to deal more damage and eliminate enemies, blocking them from reviving. Being able to select other Exclusive Equipment Options will allow players to have a wide variety of options.

  1-1-3. Moonlight / 4

Tempest Surin

Swift Movement (Before)

Swift Movement (After)

Damage suffered in one attack does not exceed 51% of max Health. Increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 15% (Max 30%) when the caster's Health is 70% or less when an enemy's turn ends. Can only be activated once per turn.

Damage suffered in one attack does not exceed 51% of max Health. When the caster's Health is 70% or less when an enemy's turn ends, dispels all debuffs from the caster and grants stealth for 1 turn, before increasing Combat Readiness of the caster by 20% (Max 30%). Can only be activated once per turn.

Skill Enhance (Before)

Skill Enhance (After)

+1% Combat Readiness

+1% Combat Readiness

Moonlight Shadow (Before)

Moonlight Shadow (After)

Attacks all enemies with a 60% (Max 85%) chance to make them unable to be buffed for 2 turns. Damage dealt increases proportional to the amount of the caster’s lost Health.

Cooldown : 5 Turns (Lowest 4 Turns)

Attacks all enemies, with a 60% (Max 85%) chance to make them unable to be buffed for 2 turns and inflict silence for 1 turn. Damage dealt increases proportional to the amount of the caster's lost Health.

Cooldown : 4 Turns (Lowest 3 Turns )

Tempest Surin’s passive skill, Swift Movement, can effectively shut down high-damage attacks, but she is still vulnerable to debuff effects. Additionally, the problem that her skills do not exert a great amount of influence in an actual battle, which made her less active.

With this adjustment, her passive skill, Swift Movement, when activated, will now remove all debuffs placed onto the caster as well as grant her Stealth, which will grant her greater flexibility in battles, allowing her to have more influence. With this change, Tempest Surin will be able to play a more active role in battles, and can be fully utilized without needing to rely on her allies for support. While her Skill Enhance buffs have been decreased, the base increase in Combat Readiness has been increased from 15% to 20%, so that she can better contribute in battle with less investment.

In addition to this, a Silence debuff effect was added to her skill Moonlight Shadow, making this attack more threatening to the enemy than before. We have also reduced the cooldown for this attack by 1 turn compared to the previous version. With the addition of Silence as well as the unable to be buffed debuff, we are excited to see Tempest Surin become a Hero that is harder to deal with thanks to the improvements to Moonlight Shadow.

Crescent Moon Rin

Eyecatcher (Before)

Eyecatcher (After)

Attacks the enemy with a lavish dance, stealing two buffs and granting their effects to all allies.

Attacks the enemy with a lavish dance, inflicting Stun for 1 turn before stealing two buffs and granting their effects to all allies. If the enemy is not buffed, the cooldown for this skill is reduced by 1 turn.

Crescent Moon Rin was designed to be a “tech” Hero who could provide her allies with Immunity and aid them by granting them buffs stolen from the enemy. However, in the arena, where the use of team buffs plays a major role, just dispelling buffs from a target wasn't enough. Despite having a unique ability, it lacked practical use due to having too many limitations.
With the addition of Stun being added to Eyecatcher, along with a conditional cooldown reduction, we expect that Crescent Moon Rin will be more effective in keeping her enemies in check. The previous skill effect had a problem where, if there were no buffs to steal, the skill was not helpful, but now, she can play a more active role in battle with this skill, stunning enemies even if there are no buffs to be stolen.

Shooting Star Achates

Sparkling Star (Before)

Sparkling Star (After)

Between the caster and the target, heals the ally with the lowest Health to the point that their Health matches the other, before healing further on top. Effect is unaffected by Health buffs or debuffs. Health recovered is proportional to the max Health of each ally.

Dispels all debuffs from both the caster and target, and between the caster and the target, heals the ally with the lowest Health to the point that their Health matches the other, before healing further on top. Health matching effect is unaffected by Health buffs or debuffs. Additional healing increases proportional to the max Health of each ally.

Shooting Star Achates is a Soul Weaver who can provide strong single ally support through the use of Resurrection Magic for immortality and Sparkling Star for recovery. However, aside from these two skill’s ability to help an ally survive in battle, her auxiliary effects paled in comparison to other Soul Weavers who are capable of helping their entire team.

Sparkling Star, which is a key skill for Shooting Star Achates, is now able to remove debuffs inflicted on herself and the target, improving viability against enemies who can inflict various debuffs. The current version of Shooting Star Achates was unable to remove inflicted debuffs, which means she was not able to help her team in vital situations. However, with these changes, we expect that Shooting Star Achates will be able to be used in a variety of situations.

1-2. AI Improvements

The following section will detail improvements to the AI of certain Heroes, due to their previous AI logic being too restricting.

Specimen Sez

Light Storm (AI) (Before)

Light Storm (AI) (After)

1. Bosses

2. Targets that have the stun debuff applied.

3. Targets that are at an elemental disadvantage

4. Targets with a low Health percentage

1. Targets that do not have the Invincibility buff.

2. Bosses

3. Targets that have the stun debuff applied

4. Targets that are at an elemental disadvantage

5. Targets with a low Health percentage

Krau

Summon Ziegfried (AI) (Before)

Summon Ziegfried (AI) (After)

1. Bosses

2. Targets that are at an elemental disadvantage

3. Targets with low a Health percentage

1. Targets that do not have the Invincibility buff.

2. Bosses

3. Targets that are at an elemental disadvantage

4. Targets with low a Health percentage

Specimen Sez and Krau are Heroes who both have important attack skills, which, at times, due to Auto-Battling or being placed on a Defense team, would sometimes attack targets with the invincibility buff active in critical situations, which was disadvantageous. With this improvement to their AI, these Heroes will attack the correct targets, allowing players to gain an advantage in battle.

Assassin Cidd

Execution (AI) (Before)

Execution (AI) (Before)

1. Targets that do not have the Invincibility buff.

2. Bosses

3. Targets that are at an elemental disadvantage

4. Targets with a low Health percentage

1. Bosses

2. Targets with the highest Combat Readiness gauge.

Wanderer Silk

Shock Arrow (AI) (Before)

Shock Arrow (AI) (After)

1. Targets that do not have the Invincibility buff.

2. Bosses

3. Targets that are at an elemental disadvantage

4. Targets with a low Health percentage

1. Bosses

2. Targets with the highest Combat Readiness gauge.

Assassin Cidd and Wanderer Silk were supposed to be able to prevent an enemy’s first attack by using their skills, Execution and Shock Arrow, which reduces the Combat Readiness of the attacked enemy. However, in reality, they were attacking the same enemies as their other skills, so they were not targeting the proper enemy when used in a Defense team. With this improved AI, these two Heroes will be even more useful in the Arena.

Pavel

Destructive Pursuit (AI) (Before)

Destructive Pursuit (AI) (After)

Used first (Unconditionally)

If Storm Bullet is available, Storm Bullet is used first

At the start of battle, Pavel is able to deal a high amount of damage to a single target through the use of Destructive Pursuit with his first turn. However, if you use Storm Bullet before Destructive Pursuit, you can increase your Attack while also dealing damage to the entire enemy team, thus increasing Pavel’s usability. The AI improvement will change the skill usage priority so that Pavel can be used in more situations, prioritizing Storm Bullet over Destructive Pursuit.

Destina

Destina's Grace (AI) (Before)

Destina's Grace (AI) (After)

Used when an ally’s Health is at 60% or below

Used when an ally’s Health is at 60% or below
Used when an ally has been inflicted with a debuff

Achates

Curing Prayer (AI) (Before)

Curing Prayer (AI) (After)

Used when an ally’s Health is at 80% or below

Used when an ally’s Health is at 80% or below

Used when an ally has been inflicted with a debuff

Both Destina and Achates have skills, which restore Health as well as remove debuffs from allies. However, there was an issue where these skills would not be used, even if an ally was debuffed. With this new AI improvement, these skills will be changed so that they can more immediately cleanse your team of debuffs, allowing for both Heroes to more efficiently assist the team

Sez

Conviction (AI) (Before)

Conviction (AI) (After)

When the target’s Health is 30% or less, there is an 80% chance for this skill to be used

When the target’s Health is 50% or less, there is an 100% chance for this skill to be used

Sez’s skill, Conviction, is a threatening attack for targets who lost a lot of their Health. However, there was a problem in which the AI’s activation conditions were too limited to be useful in actual battle situations. Improvements will be made so that the conditions for activation will be relaxed compared to the previous condition, allowing him to be used in a greater number of situations.

Celeste

Defcon (AI) (Before)

Defcon (AI) (After)

Used when the caster’s Health is 70% or less.

Used when the caster’s Health is 80% or less.

Celeste is designed to battle against enemies, with the ability to recover her lost Health with Defcon, and being able to continuously reset the cooldown of Volley. However, there have been times where Volley and Defcon were not aligned, causing Volley to not experience the cooldown reset. With this change, the AI has been improved to meet the required conditions, so that now, when the caster’s Health is 80% or less, Defcon will be used.

 Batisse

Brawl (AI) (Before)

Brawl (AI) (After)

1. Targets that do not have the Invincibility buff.

2. Bosses

3. Targets that are at an elemental disadvantage

4. Targets with low a Health percentage

1. Targets that do not have the Invincibility buff.

2. Bosses

3. Targets with decreased Attack debuff

4. Targets that are at an elemental disadvantage

5. Targets with low a Health percentage

Certain Victory (AI) (Before)

Certain Victory (AI) (After)

1. Targets that do not have the Invincibility buff.

2. Bosses

3. Targets that are at an elemental disadvantage

4. Targets with low a Health percentage

1. Targets that do not have the Invincibility buff.

2. Bosses

3. Targets with decreased Attack debuff

4. Targets that are at an elemental disadvantage

5. Targets with low a Health percentage

Batisse has a skill kit that benefits around the enemy having a decreased Attack debuff inflicted, however, the AI was not set to take advantage of such a situation and use his skill to its full effect. This change in AI will better connect the ability of his passive skill to his active skills, allowing him to be fully effective when being controlled by the AI.

Fighter Maya

Finishing Attack (AI) (Before)

Finishing Attack (AI) (After)

When the target has 30% of less Health, has an 80% chance to attack it.

When the target has 30% of less Health, has a 100% chance to attack it.

Fighter Maya has a skill kit that allows her to defeat enemies one by one through the use of Finishing Attack, however, there was a problem where the AI was not using this skill 100% of the time. With improvements to the AI, Finishing Attack will be used 100% of the time as long as the conditions have been met.

2. Exclusive Equipment Option Change

With the adjustments that were mentioned above, two Heroes, Destina, and Lilibet, will have the ability to change the Option for their Exclusive Equipment. Heirs who had used Exclusive Equipment for these Heroes before will be able to select the option that they want to have. This feature will be applied to the 6/11 (Thu) update and players will be able to change their option for up to 2 weeks.

The Exclusive Equipment that can be changed is limited to Equipment that has been adjusted after this update. Exclusive Equipment acquired after the update is not eligible for this change.

After the update, you can change the Option from the inventory after selecting the eligible Exclusive Equipment.

The image is subject to change.

It will follow the language settings when applied.

Exclusive Equipment that has been changed will retain its existing stats, and once changed, the Exclusive Equipment Option cannot be changed again.

These are the proposed balance adjustments and changes to Exclusive Equipment that are scheduled for the update on 6/11 (Thu). We hope to hear the opinions of our valuable Heirs about the changes that have been proposed for this balance adjustment. Please know that everyone on the Epic Seven team is reading your valuable opinions and that they are key to the development of Epic Seven.

We will continue to do our best to ensure that our players can create diverse teams and have fun.

Thank you!

The AI update doesn't help me either, like almost everyone else I run the Cleanse EE on Destina's s1. It really needs to be TWO debuffs that triggers her s3, not one.

On the other hand, I like the s2 improvement! That will help keep her relevant against Ray, which I was a little worried about.

STOVE93559137How? Basar isn't threatening because of his one debuff, he's threatening because he CR pushes and dispels all your buffs. Nothing in these changes will make him good against Basar.

STOVE92662080Sorry for the late answer but his S2  dispels one Debuff THAT Annoying Debuff, you can't do nothing against his Push Back but at least you don't have to worry for the speed, my only real counter is ML Silk, but with him I could not use her only vs Kayron

    1. ML Tywin:
    - s2 improvment These buffs wont change much, because there's simply too many debuffs in the meta. Let say your team get's attacked by Basar S3 who proc unbuffable and multiple abyssal crown stuns. ML Tywin will remove only 1 debuff so in the end you're still ****** Not to mention all the other chain CC that will come right after Basar moves.
    - s3 improvement it's way too situational imo. AI will use it first turn when other team still has immunity and in RTA players will just bring cleansers anyway or throw so many debuffs at him that he wont be able to land anything. Besides it's aoe skill, so it will proc all the cancerous effects like SSB s2, Charles elbris, etc. Imo his S3 needs a rework, resurrect for an ally would be nice and unique for once.

    2. Lilibeth:
    - nice change to EE, but she still gonna be useless, because shes squishy single target unit with long cooldown and she MUST go first or she will not survive enemy dmg. In the end you have to bring at least 2 heroes to counter 1 enemy hero. The thing is, that IF you have faster units then enemy team it's simply better to bring more reliable units rather than squishy lilibeth. That's why shes so rarely used compared to other units.

    3. ML Rin:
    - She's way too squishy and her s3 is useless when your team is already debuffed, especially with unbuffable. She needs cleanse on her s3 before she applies immunity or huge HP / DEF buff so she doesnt die to random aoe. Not to mention that LQC will probably 1 shot her 1st turn, kekw.

I had ML Rin on Violet Talisman, lvl 50, survive ML Charlotte. Miss does wonders. Also health benefits Rin more than defense. Charlotte can't penetrate defense by 30% if there's no defense to penetrate.
