[Dev Notes] 4/10 - April Developer's Notes
- 2019.04.10 10:16 (UTC+0)
Hello, this is Super Creative.
These Developer Notes will detail the beginning of service in Japan as well as the upcoming collaboration.
Joint Publishing in Japan with Yostar
At an event in Japan last Saturday, Yostar announced their joint publishing of the Japanese service of Epic Seven alongside Smilegate. Epic Seven received attention from a number of Japanese publishers, but Yostar deeply impressed us with their broad understanding of the game and commitment to providing the best service to our Heirs. It is an honor to work alongside such a distinguished publisher, especially one with a record of successfully servicing popular games such as Azur Lane in Japan.
We are currently considering the possibility of a new Japanese server within the same build as the current servers, along with Japanese translation and voice acting. In this vein, we are working hard to cast Japanese voice actors, which we know many of you have been anticipating, and Heirs will be able to change their media pack in order to freely enjoy high-quality Japanese voice acting themselves.
Please understand that we are unable to provide an exact time for the Japanese launch as of yet, as we will continue making adjustments until we are completely satisfied with the results. We will do our utmost to finish work related to the Japanese localization and return to you with another great leap in quality before the end of the year.
Epic Seven's First Collaboration Planned for April 25th
We are very grateful for the amount of interest that Heirs have shown in the collaboration since it was first announced. We hope for Heirs’ understanding in that consultation between the IP holders, developers, and publishers is very important, and thus we are unable to provide too many details in advance.
That's why we are all the more excited to reveal that the collaboration is planned for April 25th. Again, we kindly ask for your understanding that we cannot yet disclose exactly what kind of collaboration we have in store for you all due to the consultation between those involved. What we can tell you, however, is that we are working with an IP that will suit our game well, featuring Heroes with impressive effects and animations, and progress so far is very promising.
In order to present a collaboration most fitting with Epic Seven, we will have an extensive, four-week-long Side Story. This Side Story will contain its own special elements to distinguish it from other Side Stories, similar to the branching storytelling of “So the Roses May Bloom” and the Defense Stages of “Eulogy for a Saint.” The unique feature of this particular Side Story will be the Tournament Stage.
Event currency earned through the Side Story can be used as entry tickets for the Tournament, where players will be able to challenge a number of NPCs, beginning with a round of 16. Those who emerge victorious from this Tournament will be able to receive valuable items such as MolaGora, as well as a 5 Star collaboration Hero and their accompanying Artifact. As long as you continue playing the Side Story, you will be able to receive this Hero and their Artifact through various methods, including quest rewards. Outside of this, we also have plans for two other limited collaboration Heroes and accompanying Artifacts.
Finally, we are also preparing a variety of events to commemorate Epic Seven's first ever collaboration, including a special check-in event.
Drop Rate Increase Banners for Popular Heroes
Popular Heroes from the previous season have been given increased drop rates alongside the launch of Arena Season 2. The first banner was Krau and Tenebria, which will be followed by a second banner on April 11th and a third on April 18th.
There are several reasons why we decided to run banners of popular established Heroes instead of new ones. As new Heroes continue to be released, the opportunity to summon the already existing Heroes that you want continues to decrease. We believe that being able to play Epic Seven with your favorite and most beloved Heroes creates a more special experience. Therefore, we have been considering the possibility of increasing drop rates of existing Heroes for a long time. In addition to this, there have also been some players who were feeling fatigued by the need to summon and build new Heroes every two weeks.
We have been very cautious since this is our first time holding increased drop rate banners for existing rather than new Heroes, but we hope the chance to introduce added variety into your teams through already-established Heroes will provide Heirs with more fun.
We are also working towards developing the visual content of Epic Seven even further to introduce new and varied experiences, whether it be new Connections Heroes, Heroes obtainable only through Guild War, Hero skins, new and colossal monsters, or even cute little pets.
This concludes the April Developer's Notes. The support and encouragement you gave us during the March 28th update and April Fools event helped the development team greatly. We will continue to do our utmost to provide a game packed full of content for you to enjoy, so please continue to give us your love and support.
