Direction for Adjustments and Improvements Regarding the "New Era" Update [135]



 

Hello, Heirs. This is Epic Seven.

First, we offer our sincerest apologies. We hoped the "New Era" update would be an exciting turning point for Epic Seven, but instead, it has caused many of our Heirs deep disappointment and frustration.

We are especially taking the concerns shared by many Heirs regarding the changes to the competitive environment following the introduction of the "Imprint Circuit" system very seriously.

We want to be fully transparent about Epic Seven's future direction of measures regarding the points our Heirs are concerned about.

 

1. Adjustments to the Application Scope and Stat Impact of the Imprint Circuit
 

The Imprint Circuit system was introduced to alleviate the issue where the feeling of growth and progression slows down after a certain level within the structure that maintains the existing growth cap, with the goal of allowing our Heirs to feel continuous growth through gameplay.

Accordingly, the Imprint Circuit was designed by considering both the application scope and stat levels together so that the growth gap would not widen excessively during the initial stage of introduction.

However, upon actual application, the difference in combat performance depending on whether the Imprint Circuit was applied appeared larger than intended in competitive content, and this operated in a different direction from our existing stance of minimizing the impact on the World Arena.

We acknowledge this as the result of our poor judgment, and we plan to proceed with adjustments as follows.

 

[Imprint Circuit Stat Adjustments]

Many Heirs have also shared their feedback that the level of stats increased through the Imprint Circuit system is having too large of an impact on competitive content.


Accordingly, to prevent the combat performance gap caused by the application of the Imprint Circuit from widening excessively in competitive content, we will adjust the stat increase margin gained through the Imprint Circuit.

Specifically, we will adjust the Attack, Health, and Defense stats acquired through Common Nodes and Symbol Nodes to approximately 50% of their current values.


Furthermore, if additional Imprint Circuit adjustments are needed in the future, we will review the Epic Node effects and the overall stat composition of the Imprint Circuit—regardless of whether it results in upward or downward adjustments—and continue to make adjustments so that the Development Team's design intentions align with our Heirs' experiences.

 

[Early Opening of Imprint Circuit Slots]

As the current Imprint Circuit system is applied to only 10 Heroes, our Heirs have shared concerns that the usability of many favorite Heroes would be heavily restricted.

 

The Imprint Circuit was initially designed to unlock slots progressively, as applying it to many Heroes at once could excessively increase the gameplay burden and widen the growth gap between Heirs. However, it has been observed that the limit of 10 Heroes is insufficient for strategically utilizing a wide variety of Heroes, contrary to the original intent.

 

We sincerely apologize for causing inconvenience and concern to our Heirs due to this matter.

Accordingly, our Development Team has actively gathered the feedback of our Heirs and will make improvements as follows.

 

Soul Rank Expansion and Early Slot Opening (Scheduled for 4/23): We will expand the Soul Rank through the upcoming April 23 update. Through this, we will make it possible to secure additional Imprint Circuit board slots, ensuring that more Heroes can demonstrate their true abilities on the battlefield.


Continuous Slot Monitoring and Additional Expansion: Even after this expansion, we will closely monitor the achievement data of the Imprint Circuit and actual World Arena pick/win rate data. We will prioritize not only numerical data but also the "freedom of Hero selection" experienced by our Heirs. Then we will continuously add slots as long as the gap between Heirs does not widen significantly.


2. Improvement Direction of Packs for New Heirs and Exclusive Summons

We would like to explain the issue where some products and features introduced to support the rapid growth of new Heirs could not be used normally. Above all, we are truly sorry that those who stepped into Epic Seven and played passionately ended up experiencing a situation where they were excluded from systemic benefits. 

We will correct this to ensure that fair opportunities are provided to all new Heirs, so that the features prepared to help do not instead become hurdles that cause a sense of discouragement.


[Improvement of Display Conditions for New Limited Packs]

These Packs were prepared to provide important growth items at the most appropriate times according to the Episode progression stage. However, as they were set to be displayed only at the "specific Episode clear timing" during the system design process, we confirmed a situation where Heirs who diligently played and rapidly progressed through Episodes ended up missing their purchase opportunity.

To prevent these benefits from becoming a restriction on passionate gameplay, we will adjust the conditions as follows so that all new Heirs can enjoy these benefits.


•  Previous Condition: Displayed upon clearing a specific Episodes for accounts created after January 1, 2026.

•  Adjusted Condition: Displayed upon reaching Account Rank 30 or above for accounts created after January 1, 2026.

* Even Heirs who have already cleared the Episodes and passed the display timing will be able to purchase them identically in the Pack tab within the Shop if they meet the Rank conditions according to the adjusted condition. 


[Improvement of Conditions for Newbie Heir Exclusive Mystic Summon]

Regarding the usage conditions of the "Newbie Heir Exclusive Mystic Summon," we apologize that the information was delivered differently between the official video and the notice.

This Summon was initially prepared to be available upon reaching Account Rank 50, but during the internal review process, the available timing was ultimately adjusted to Rank 30 so that new Heirs could acquire their desired Heroes earlier and settle into the game more stably.

However, during this process, the condition details were delivered inconsistently between the video and the notice, and it was our lack of communication management that caused confusion to some of our Heirs.

Additionally, it was also not appropriate that Heirs who had already progressed rapidly and exceeded Rank 30 could not use the Summon due to the system's structure.

Accordingly, we will adjust the conditions as follows, ensuring that Heirs who were previously restricted can access the content normally after the update.

  • Condition (Before)

Available for use and summoning upon reaching Rank 30 (Not displayed if exceeded)

  • Condition (After)

Available for use if the account was created after January 1, 2026 (Summoning possible from Rank 30)

 

Moving forward, we will closely inspect our overall content communication process to ensure the same confusion does not occur.

After the "New Era" update, many Heirs returned to Epic Seven.


At a time when so many Heirs are with us, we take it extremely seriously that this change could not lead to a positive experience and was instead felt first as a burden and inconvenience.

We will continuously inspect and adjust until the mentioned improvements can be truly felt in your actual gameplay.


Along with the prepared improvements, we have prepared the following compensation to offer our apologies to our Heirs.

So nothing about "coins only" from dupe ml5 characters in chests? That is it? Just wall of text that means nothing.

Ninja EDIT: So after they announced board is pve only, can I have my coins back from buying Mana Crystals since they are useless to me and many players now?

how about we keep our dupes too? Why wont you guys acknowledge that no one wants to lose our dupes for just coins?

The new Imprint circuit make people force to pick certain hero and change hero circuit everytime during guild war because of the stats bonus. This really kill diversity. Why not make Imprint Circuit only viable to 3 -4 star hero because  most of 3-4 star hero are lacking in base stats and skill set utility. The bonus stats  from the circuit imprint given to certain 5 star hero really makes it damn broken.

Good to see the imprint circuit is done for. It makes things even more unbalanced and very cryptic. If you guess your opponent's imprint circuit wrong, you are already disadvantaged - Imagine going through this mandatory test before every pvp game.

P.S. It's also a potential start for hardcore p2w. This game dodged a bullet.

Okay. Give me a refund on the coins used for the circuit imprint because I have never once cared about PVE. 

Okay, SG. It's been halved and now it will only work in PvE. 

It's more about PvE. The game is competitive. 

And will the money spent to speed up the process be reimbursed in some way? 

Cancel this system altogether. Nobody cares about PvE.

Since Imprint Circuit now PvE only, I think it's time to rework entire things to give beneficial buffs like increase chance to get good/great enhancement for gears and artifacts enchancements, decreasing time to recharging energy and arena's flag, increase gold/stigma acquired from clearing content, etc. rather than giving extra stats to heroes (since nobody have struggle in PvE because lack of attack stats). Or maybe just remove it entirely to remove burden of developers to maintaining this thing.


And please give us dupes from hero acquired from milestones.

I really wish the imprint circuits had nothing to do with units but rather account buffs themselves. Like higher chance of good/great success on levelling gear; higher chance of otherworldly gear; levelling gear using less gold; higher chance of epic gear on crafting, etc, etc.

They say that the intent was to improve progression because players reach a point where progress is slow -- I don't understand how making select characters have better stats suddenly improves progression at late game. This change does nothing except make characters that are already geared well stronger. Everyone is now stuck using these few characters on top of having to deal with the extra mental burden of needing to rotate units in and out of the circuits because now every GW and arena defense will be using broken imprinted units.

If everyone is OP, no one is OP. Having better stats means nothing for progression if every other late game player has the better stats too. It just goes back to equilibrium.

The first thing that comes to mind with this Imprint Circuit is: 'Are you forcing us to play musical chairs with our heroes?' Instead of limiting us to 5 or 10 slots, why not make this function available for EVERY character based on their level?

If a hero reaches Lv.60, they should be fully compatible to support all nodes from Common up to Symbol. We have hundreds of heroes; forcing us to select only a few specific units is ridiculous. Do you really expect us to play the entire game with just 10 characters?

Regarding the slots: Change the logic from 'how many heroes can use it' to 'how many builds we can use.' We need specialized setups for different content: HP/Def scaling for Tanks, Cri for DPS, Raw Attack for DPS/DoT units, and specialized Eff/Res builds.

 

Bs spotted! 1- remove circuits altogether or make it 3/4 stars only. 2-Give back dupes from radiance obviously that's the only thing we vets are gonna get... The shop is crap or remove taeyou limit... 3-bring back weekly reward 

It looks like the weekly rewards have been moved to the Shadow Chamber. You just need to clear it once every two weeks.

Per promo, SG hypes-up Milestone of Radiance as "the most pivotal change" of the update. Diamond chests amount to "giving out rewards radically." Getting 1 ML5 would be "disappointing."  So "at least ten ML heroes" for New Heirs as chests can upgrade (min. 11@10% Vet). 


SG thinks Vets would be "feeling left out." 


Players need dupes for imprints, builds, and galaxy coins—concerns forgotten after imprinting changes 

"Instead of us deciding for them, [SG] designed [MoR} so [vets] can purchase what they want."


Can we purchase what we want? Sure. Whole shop? Not even whales can


CCs (e.g., Tristen, Moriya, VikChun) noted coin scarcity in the event track. Shop items are high-cost relative to the guaranteed coins. SG thinks vets feel better spending more coins. But why should vets spend more than new heirs via dupes? Why not allow everyone to clear the shop, as SG expects us to reach track 150 for "at least" 10 MLs? 


SG designs disparity. Fortunate if you make it out with 1+ old ML 5 for any vets 

A problem is considering a "veterans" people with accounts created before January 2026. They're saying someone with a 4-month account should be treated the same as someone with a 8 years of resources. Getting screwed over that is.

When people say to fix the dupe problem, it's the bare minimum. Old units for new era is really fuck1ng scummy. Combined with no galaxy coins or dupes.

Please address the issue with dupes pulled from Milestone of Radiance chests.

If you believe that it’s working as intended and you don’t plan to change it, just say so.

Just straight up ignoring the complaints is disrespectful.

It is not a mistake on their end, it was stated in the "new era" stream that we wouldn't get the dupes, it just doesn't feel right to open a hero ticket to not get a hero so yeah, I hope they listen and let us get dupes.

It's stated in game too, at the moment we get the dupe. 

That response feels deaf. 

It feels like the shared community sentiment is a complete rejection of this system; halfing the values and adding more hero slots feels like adding fuel to the fire. This is not the power creep this game needs, and it will further obsolete non-top-tier meta characters, leading to worse diversity overall. 

The ommission of Milestone of Radiance duplicate character issue is very frustrating. 
So far, this New Era patch feels like we got invited to a free-drink bar, got stabbed 3 times and got a bandaid with a strawberry sticker with a "get well soon" 10 cents postcard.

One-hundred percent agree with everything you said. They need to remove this system before it's too late. Not only does it ruin unit diversity, it does not succeed on any of its intended changes. Giving a few selected units extra stats doesn't increase account progression at all. If everyone has the same bonus stats, then we're still at an equilibrium:

Having a stronger cleaver means nothing if others have stronger tank downs. Having stronger tank downs means nothing if others have stronger injury/control. *If everyone is stronger then no one is stronger*. We're in the exact same position as pre-patch, except we now have lower unit diversity to deal with beefed up arena and guild war defenses that have circuit imprinted units.

Just give the dupes  .....

I loved and hyped yall up to everyone I know about the April fools event it was funny and amazing  saying play epic seven it’s fun and getting a huge update soon then yall turn it around and screw everything up SERIOUSLY!!! not giving us dupes wtf are yall thinking no one needs coins to buy one non meta ml5 unit and some overpriced armor we need the dupes to better the units we have or give us ML5 selectors to get the dupes back that yall stole from us yall already stomped on all your long term players and sucked off the new players STOP ! Give us are damn dupes back or sign truck Korea comes back ! And then the imprint circuit guys please i can’t play pvp its to aids of a experience to start with it’s literally a endless hell for players who can’t build units with 23+ speed gear stats or  30% health then you got the whales who pay through the game and just steam roll rta if yall really cared about players and rta like yall say then im begging yall nerf it to the ground or remove it 

So nothing about the Milestones of Radiance and the fact we don't get to keep dupes making the entire thing extremely unsatisfying to get basically nothing from the "ML Summons" and "Covenant Summons" talked about in the video.


This doesn't solve the issue that the imprint circuit forces less hero diversity because even at 50% the nodes are still too much because they are BASE STATS. The 5 hero limit reduces the already crap hero diversity because if the heroes you use for arena, guild war, and RTA aren't in there you are at a huge disadvantage. The current system itself is the issue, if it was just pve no issue, only 3 and 4 stars no issues, only small amount of final stats still not great but better.

The imprint circuit nerfs are not enough. Another board faster just means there are 20 problems instead of 10 even sooner. The core issue is that this system is the base concept is a contradiction. Making a few heroes stronger than others vs not disrupting RTA/e7WC/GW balance are mutually exclusive to each other. Are you going to make an indicator to show that the unit someone picked is "boosted"? Do I just have to assume everyone has every epic node on every character as a just in case? Even post "nerf" some of these units are 5-10% stronger than before the circuit implementation.
This concept needs reworked from the ground up if you want it to be balanced. It should be very minor tweaks, 1-2% total unit power increases at most. It also needs to be something where no one should feel the need to swap units out all the time to ensure they are not "leaving stats on the table" E.G. between every GW attack. The effects likely need to be applied at class level. At that point why even do it?

Why not make one of the three ML characters a choice for everyone, not just new players? 
Why not leave dupes for impirnts? 
I was absolutely furious when I found out that my friend, who's been playing since January, can buy Spirit Eye Seline for $10, while I, started to play on Frieren collaboration, dream of getting her and get shit!
 

This is not addressing the issues at all. There imprint circuit is far too strong, it ruins unit diversity and for things like GW encourages constant refreshing which is obnoxious and tedious. Make it apply to only 3 and 4 star units and exclude the specialty changes, you know those really fun unit updates you stopped doing. And decreased the number of EEs you gave out.


And address the dupes. As a veteran player I have the majority of ML5s and every RGB. It's ridiculous that we can't even get a second build or imprint and no galaxy coins either? I know you screwed us by doubling the price of the galaxy selector but at least this would have helped with that a tiny bit..


Typical SG, hype an update and then drop a bomb instead. Shameful.

I really miss the speciality changes 😔
