Era of Scams: Who is this for? Why are we so stingy 8 years deep? [1]
This update absolutely blows, and the bad outweighs any redeeming qualities. I don't understand how SG could create so much hype and fumble in the first hour. Was there no oversight? How and why did this ever roll out into the live game? I'm so disappointed. I want to quit, which is saying a lot considering I haven't since I started in 2020.
What's the point of this update at all? Basically, just put the awakening update that you scrapped in without making it any better. "Minimal impact" and the imprint circuit will genuinely just inflate the stats of the 5 best heroes in the game, making the meta more toxic.
Why gatekeep ancient ML 5 stars from players by not even letting us keep dupes, get galaxy coins, or even let veterans choose who they want to get? We already can't get units past ML Taeyou, so what's the point of skimping us out of dupes? AND the shop coins you get from dupes are RNG, so you could just end up never getting enough currency for the shop.
New players can't get new ML5s to be competitive in RTA/Arena/GW, Veteran players can't keep dupes of the ancient ML5s they are allowed to get. The game has had an accelerating amount of power creep in every released ML5 for a long while now, and the game's been out 8 years, I do not understand why SG is so stingy.
Who is this update even for?
I was trying to get my friends into the game, hyping it up to them because I really enjoy E7. I told them the best time would be now, because of what was promised in this update, but now I feel like an idiot.

I wasn't expecting features to be removed in this update either, and some of them were. One at least in the absence of weekly reputation. I think that should have been stated a lot more clearly. Especially to the people who didn't have 2hrs to read subtitles on their video. Some of the QoL was very much needed, but it also seems like some bait & switch. Maybe they'll change something else to make up for it.
I've kind of thought for a while that SG has a bit on an inflated view of how much players value what they're offering, and it's getting a bit old. At least they've been trying to put out surveys more. Perhaps after 8 years they're tired of entertaining. But I hope not.
