E7WC 2025 Champion Interview Revealed! [2]
Hello Heirs! This is GM Dominiel!
Stand to Last!
On September 6, the long-awaited E7WC 2025 Grand Final finally took place!
Amid three contenders battling for glory, fans witnessed a string of breathtaking matches that will be remembered as true classics.
In particular, "Xiao Xuenai" from Asia Server and "GOMEAWME" from Korea Server went head-to-head in a staggering 17 matches, showcasing their unyielding determination to claim the crown.
After a nail-biting showdown where either side could have taken the title, the one who finally raised the champion's trophy was none other than Xiao Xuenai!
Following the Grand Final, we also had the chance to sit down for a brief interview with the newly crowned champion.
Let's hear Xiao Xuenai's reflections on the E7WC 2025 Grand Final!
Q. Congratulations on your victory, Xiao Xuenai! After three intense clashes against GOMEAWME, you've claimed the championship. What was the main focus of your preparation for the finals?
My top priority in preparing for the finals was securing the *first turn*. This also happens to be a key part of GOMEAWME's playstyle. Since my opponent shared a style similar to mine, I had to prepare even more thoroughly, exploring various strategies to ensure I could take the initiative.
* First Turn: Taking the turn before one's opponent in battle
Q. No need to be nervous, feel free to answer as comfortably as you wish. In your winner's interview, you mentioned that last year's E7WC champion, Hazamarei, was a big help to you. Could you tell us more specifically what kind of help you received?
The most memorable thing that comes to mind is the strategy of incorporating Celeste into Ban Pick. Thanks to that approach, I was able to secure victory in my Upper Bracket Round 4 match, which gave me a strong advantage heading into the Grand Final.
▲ Celeste: Despite being a 3★ Hero, Celeste can seize the tempo of a match with her high basic Speed, Speed Memory Imprint, and the Artifact, Renewed Will.
Q. I see. Do you generally prefer a first turn oriented playstyle as well?
Yes, I do. I've always favored taking the first turn and applying pressure on my opponent, so I felt especially confident going into this year's finals.
▲ Both Xiao Xuenai and GOMEAWME recorded high win rates when taking the first turn.
Q. Given your focus on seizing the first turn, which Hero did you feel most confident using in this tournament?
The two I felt most confident about were Lone Wolf Peira and Sea Phantom Politis. Among them, I believe Sea Phantom Politis contributed the most to my championship victory.
▲ Xiao Xuenai's Sea Phantom Politis secured 5 wins out of 17 matches against GOMEAWME.
Q. Great. Let's talk about the finals. When you look back, what would you say was the biggest "highlight"?
Every moment felt like a highlight, but the one that stands out most was when I secured the first turn, took control of the Speed battle, and took down my opponent's key Heroes in succession.
Q. Against GOMEAWME, you took the Upper Bracket 4:1, but then fell short in the following matches in the Grand Final. During the break before the Bracket Reset, how did you prepare?
Instead of changing my Equipment or settings, I focused on regaining my composure. I tried to calm myself, turn that tension into positive energy, and make clearer, more accurate decisions going forward.
▲ In the final match of the Upper Bracket, the tide of the battle was decided by Witch of the Mere Tenebria's random debuff.
Q. The Bracket Reset match was another fierce battle. In the final match, at what moment did you feel certain of victory?
It was when Festive Eda seized the first turn against GOMEAWME's Frida. In that instant, I thought, "This is it. I've finally won."
▲ No one expected Festive Eda to take the first turn. With her devastating debuffs that followed, Xiao Xuenai's victory drew ever closer.
Q. Before we end, could you share a few words for your fans who supported you?
I'm truly happy that by winning E7WC 2025, I was able to live up to everyone's expectations. From the Qualifiers to the Tournament Stages and all the way to the Finals, it was thanks to the support of my fans that I could stand here as champion. I want to sincerely thank every one of you, and also express my gratitude to all my friends who practiced with me along the way.
▲ Xiao Xuenai, crowned the glorious champion of E7WC 2025
Xiao Xuenai's victory shone all the brighter thanks to the support of Heirs from all around the world!
To every Heir who cheered on the players with such passion and enthusiasm, thank you so much!❤
