Make it more straightforward so that the routine isn't to have one person make a video on a team to use while he and two others hold the real information for themselves and get top3 every week.
Nobody else is competing with their own comps which means the mode is just too obtuse and time consuming to figure out optimally.
There isn't any competition. Top3 prizes go to the same three and the rest basically complete hot to get their 40.
More gear and hero checks, less spreadsheet and time checks. You get one EE pull every two weeks which is already ridiculous. These guys get three. It ***** and makes me not even want to do the mode. Make the leaderboards more competitive and the chase for rewards more exciting.

No PvE content in this game requires this amount of work. Even the new trial of constellation is less restrictive.
I'm ok with investing time in gearing a hero to a spec. I'm not ok with having a mode that rotates every two weeks that requires an actual spreadsheet to calculate 10 turns in advance, liberal use of confused math gifs, and a lab suit just for that .07% chance at an extra break phase rotation. And judging by the results every week nobody else is either.
Restarting 300 times for an extra rotation is time wasted not spent. Top3 are permalocked and nobody else competes because the rewards below top3 make it not worth the effort for how much it requires. HoT shouldn't be so obtuse that you can hide tech from everyone reliably every time.
Old HoT was straightforward. I had classes and elements to use and a simple break. That's what we need for competitive leaderboards. Simple gear and hero checks so that it's about what we actually spend time on. Gear.
