[NewHeirTips] Assertor1290/Asia/Gear Guide for Beginners [2]
Unit Categories
Before talking about rolling gear, a short info about the type of units you will be gearing:
- DPS: High damage dealer that are glass cannon usually. They generally require attack, crit chance, crit damage and speed substats.
- Tank: They provide mitigation to the team with some being able to do decent damage too. They generally require hp, defense and speed substats
- Bruiser: They are tanky dps that deal less dmg than a normal dps but more tanky for a longer gameplay. They generally require hp, def, crit and crit dmg substats.
- Supporter/Utility: They can be cleansers/healers/debuffers. They generally require hp, def, speed and eff/er substats .
Hunts or Rift
Hunts give you reforge materials, mystics and skystones, whereas Rift is mainly focused for gear. Rift also gives you reforge mats but they are of different hunts instead of a specific hunt. I recommend use quick battles to farm hunts and spend remaining energy on Rift . Then balance between hunt and rift depending upon if you need reforge materials or not.
Gear sets to focus on
If you are farming Rift, select these 4 sets:
- Speed set
- Destro set
- Immunity set
- Pen set
If you are farming Hunts, focus Wyvern only at start
You should be farming wyvern until you can make atleast 1 or 2 300 speed units. Then if you want to switch later, farm Banshee . Golem, Azimanak, Caides are end game. Don't touch them.

Rolling Gear
Every stat has a minimum roll and a maximum roll value in terms of their starting base stat and how much goes into it. Each gear you can roll in 5 stats every 3 levels. So at +3, +6, +9, +12, and +15 you add a substat.
Stat | Min Roll | Max Roll |
Attack%, Hp%, Def%, Eff%, Er% | 4 | 8 |
Speed | 2 (red gear), 1 (purple gear) | 4 (purple gear), 5 (red gear but very rare) |
Crit chance | 3 | 5 |
Crit damage | 4 | 7 |
- If you get too many low rolls, discard that gear.
- If gear just rolled mid rolls, usable for early part of game. Bad as end game player
- As end game player, you generally want only 1 or max 2 mid rolls
Equipment Score
Look at equipment score post reforge always.
- If the score is > 85, it is usable as a new player
- If the score is > 95, it is a good piece even as end game players
- If score > 100, it is very good.
Note: Some tank gears might have low equipment score but doesn't necessarily mean it is bad. Pieces with crit chance, speed make gear have high equipment score (cause of the way it is calculated).
Purple/Red Gear
Most purples are generally useless. You use them for speed checking only. If they dont have speed substat, sell them. Can roll some purple gear as new player if they have perfect substats but you would want to replace them down the line.
