is the cost worth it? [9]
🎮💰 Let's Talk About In-Game Purchases vs. Full Console Games! 💰🎮
Hey everyone! 🌟 Today, I want to dive into a topic that’s been on my mind: the cost of in-game purchases compared to the price of full console games.
When you buy a game for your console, you're usually looking at a one-time cost of around $60-$70. You get a complete experience, hours of gameplay, and the satisfaction of owning it outright. But then there’s the world of in-game purchases. Suddenly, that initial investment can balloon with microtransactions, skins, expansions, and loot boxes. 🎁
One game that stands out in this conversation is *Epic Seven*. While it has in-game purchases, many players feel that the value it offers is absolutely worth it! The stunning artwork, engaging gameplay, and strategic depth provide an experience that justifies the investment.
It’s wild to think how a free or low-cost game can end up costing players hundreds of dollars over time through these purchases. While developers need to monetize their games, it raises questions: Are we really getting our money's worth? Are these microtransactions making gaming more enjoyable or just more expensive? 🤔
I’d love to hear your thoughts! Do you think in-game purchases enhance the experience, or do they detract from the value of gaming? Let’s discuss! 💬👇 #GamingCommunity #InGamePurchases #EpicSeven #ConsoleGames #ValueInGaming

I'm a veteran player who's played for 5+ years pretty regularly with one or two breaks. I have the benefit of having a huge stockpile of resources, I can stay mostly f2p as long as I'm careful with them. Which is to say at a point E7 is very generous with what they give or allow you to get. I used to rave about it but the game definitely has gotten less f2p for beginners. The cash shop always seemed expensive so I tried to avoid it and would buy stuff that didn't seem too expensive and worth it to support the game. Since no game can survive completely free. But to be honest the last few years of E7 have started to sour for me and I've thought about letting it go do to many issues with E7 and smile gate. In the end I agree with cash shops as long as they're based on their market, worth the money and don't have negative impact on f2p. I usually will be ok to giving $ 60 to $100 to a game I enjoy just like I'd do with a console game.
Before i lost my day one account i had spent hundreds on the game. And known its a gatcha, but the skin is a realy buy. Being a now f2p account( it hurts) but epic seven is one of the few games that IS WORTH IT. I just refuse to spend THAT much on a costum for a dead unit. Now with all they do give it i am happy just to play. But have thought about spending on it again. Thank you for the info. It really is useful.
In-game purchases could be good if they weren't extremely expensive for a game that at most reached AA and (I'm exaggerating) in rating. If they studied their market well, they could acquire the profits they expect. Example: I am from Colombia. Our minimum wage is 337.84, I am single. After paying services and buying groceries, I have at most 71.20 left to spend. The worthwhile packs in Epic Seven start at 47.47 and the items available are very few. It's not worth spending money that way. I prefer to buy a full game to a game that is already bordering on second-rate and greedy. If the company did a proper market study, they would realize that the best way to make money for a game like this is to lower their prices. They would do it, but I think they haven't taken the time to do a proper job on this issue.
If the tama skin was maybe 30$ usd that wouldve sold more. But idk the actual numbers game there. We Do get lots of free stuff. The skin felt like a slap in the face. And while i am ranting lets get a higher mystic pull rate. 0.6 hurts my heart lol
Atlas94zipI personally think $30 is still too much, previous skins were all buy able with skystones. Is the skin much more in depth? Of course, so I can understand it being a money skin. I don't like it but I can understand, but other games don't charge that much for skins. Even ones known to be more whale or cash games who sell skins at $20. I wouldn't want to pay $20 for a skin but in this case I could understand and accept that price. $60 is if course egregious and a slap in the face.
NayriseI concur. I love epic sevens style and the skins add to it sooo much. Sadly the tama skin hurt at that price. The epic pass was the op answer to that. But SG went too far with the WHOLE maids kindom scene and skin. As a day one player, i am just not pleased with that price. They still hid the skin behind a 10$ node. I get it though! They need/want money to keep their business running. And i would have a huge hole in my ggaming wothout epic seven. I have high hopes for the new origin release. I am sure they will put the skin in the skin shop at some point. But skins are what sets us apart from some other players. Just wish they understood thats a WHOLE game worth of skin. Smh. Ty for your comment. Very helpful.
