Suggestion - Guild War Mock Arena [1]
Good afternoon everyone
I was going to wait until the new Guild War update comes through, but I figured, might as well drop this suggestion now.
People wanting a way to practice Guild War attacks/defence is definitively not a new thing, people have likely been requesting it for years, so imma bump the topic with an implementation draft.
The flow of this game mode is as follows:
- Create Room (same as usual)
- Room Lobby: Room Settings, Select Player 1 and Player 2,with the First Pick toggle, start round when both are players are ready (same as usual).
- Pre-bans (same as usual)
- Players Defence Pick
- Player Attack Picks
- Players Attacks
- Battle Summary(same as usual)
Unlike regular Guild Wars where it's 2 rounds, I figured the game would be more fun with 3 rounds. More fun, more challenge. The idea remains the same with 2 rounds.
1 - Create Room
The Guild war Mock would be a new set of battle rules in World Arena > Mock Battle.
From there, players will be in the RTA Mock Battle lobby as per usual, using the Standard template. 3rd ban protect won't apply here, more about that later.
2 - Room Lobby + Settings
This would include:
- 0-3 Pre-Bans
- First Pick
- (Optional rule) Single Character Use (characters picked on defence teams cannot be used for offence)
- (Optional rule) Sequence Pick Order (more later)
- Amount of rounds (1-3 rounds). Most of the screens below use 3 rounds as the example, because it'd take the most space.
3 - Pre-Bans
Same as usual, no need to edit screenshots..
4 - Player Defence Pick
Players set up 1 defence per round (up to 3) in the order defined by the Sequence Pick Order option:
- Standard Sequence Mode (recommended)
Pick Turn 1 | Pick Turn 2 | Pick Turn 3 | Pick Turn 4 | Pick Turn 5 | Pick Turn 6
Player 1 | Defence 1 | Defence 2 | Defence 3
Player 2 | Defence 1 | Defence 2 | Defence 3 |
- Linear Sequence Mode(optional)
Pick Turn 1 | Pick Turn 2 | Pick Turn 3 | Pick Turn 4 | Pick Turn 5 | Pick Turn 6
Player 1 | Defence 1 | Defence 2 | Defence 3
Player 2 | Defence 1 | Defence 2 | Defence 3 |
- Priority-Pick Sequence Mode (optional)
Pick Turn 1 | Pick Turn 2 | Pick Turn 3 | Pick Turn 4 | Pick Turn 5 | Pick Turn 6
Player 1 | Defence 1 | Defence 2 | Defence 3
Player 2 | Defence 1 | Defence 2 | Defence 3 |
I recognize the UI/UX is atrocious but shh, just throwing an idea..
5- Player Attack Picks
After the Defence Picks are complete, players proceed to pick their attacks for all defences using a similar menu as in the Defence Picks.
The player's units are the player's are the units the player chooses for their attacks, whilst the opponent's units are the opponent's defence teams.
This means that the player cannot see what their opponent is picking during this step (not enough room on the screen anyways).
Once both players have selected their attacks, the attacks can actually begin.
6- Player Attacks
Players play out their attacks based on the Sequence Pick Order as above.
They'd look like Guild War attacks, with turn remaining. The opponent is controlled by an AI, like Guild Wars.
A timer can be added so a bad loser won't stall the game, but the idea is to keep this game mode as close to actual Guild Wars.
Player get points based on successful/draw/defeat.
7-Summary
The summary screen would likely be inspired from the 3-team PvE events like Kiss of Frost, like
7 - Conclusion
Thank you for taking your time to read this post. I dearly hope this game mode makes it to the game, since I enjoy the Guild War format, but having the inability to practice or spar makes it frustrating.
If you like the idea, please consider dropping a heart, share it and help it get some reach!
The only way to go about it currently is setup a normal RTA, set a bunch of rules (eg have a 3* lvl 5 in the 4th slot), but it's not the same. This would go a long way, and could lead to fun tournaments too!
Have a lovely day y'all, cheers

My only suggestion would be to allow single or multiple comps. Sometimes I just want to test out a single defense comp and see how it works. But as someone in a top global guild this would be exceedingly helpful!
