Let's take a look at what we have in store for you in this week's update.

Players will be able to view these updates after the maintenance on 2/13 (Thu).

 



 

1. Hero and Artifact Balance Adjustments



Balance adjustments will be made to certain Heroes, facilitating better strategies involving them. 

 

* The probability, number of turns, and cooldowns are based on fully enhanced characters. 

* Other skills will not be changed unless stated.

* The World Arena Replays recorded before the update will no longer be playable after the maintenance on 2/13 (Thu).

 

 We would like to inform you of a change regarding a 5 Moonlight Hero, Fallen Cecilia in the upcoming 2/13 (Thu) balance adjustment.

 

After the [2/13 (Thu) Balance Adjustment Preview] was released on 1/31 (Fri) at 18:00, we received a number of comments and feedbacks from our Heirs regarding balance adjustments including Fallen Cecilia’s. After carefully reviewing each and every one of them, we’ve decided to exclude Fallen Cecilia from the 2/13 (Thu) Balance Adjustments. We are currently working on a new adjustment plan for Fallen Cecilia, which will be introduced at a later date. Moving forward, we will carefully monitor all heroes and ensure adjustments are more tailored to each hero’s unique strengths and needs.

 

For those who participated in the [5 Covenant Hero Cecilia Drop Rate Increased] Summon, which began on 2/6 (Thu), we’ll issue a full refund of the Covenant Bookmarks used. More details will be provided in a separate notice.

 

Additionally, if you purchased 5 Moonlight Hero, Fallen Cecilia from the Galaxy Coin Shop using Galaxy Coin between 1/31 (Fri) 09:00 and 2/1 (Sat) 02:59 UTC after the balance adjustment preview was released, and you’d like a refund for the Galaxy Coins used to purchase Fallen Cecilia, please submit a 1:1 inquiry through [Epic Seven Customer Service > 1:1 Inquiry] by 2/21 (Fri) 14:59 UTC. We will verify the log history of the players who submitted 1:1 inquiries and reimburse the Galaxy Coins you used while retrieving Fallen Cecilia.

 

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this last-minute change. Moving forward, we will do our best to announce balance adjustments that highlight the unique strengths and charms of each hero.

In this Drop Rate Up event, meet Roana, an Earth Elemental Soul Weaver, who excels in boosting allies' survivability with buffs while effectively countering enemies who rely on extra attacks, counterattacks, and Dual Attacks. Players can also obtain a Soul Weaver exclusive Artifact, Touch of Rekos, which restores Health of all allies after being attacked.

- Players may proceed on 1st Donation Banner on any difficulty after successfully clearing Stage 8. A Collab with Blooming Lily?.

- Players may select a higher difficulty after successfully clearing the one before it.

- As the difficulty progresses, the amount of energy needed to play will increase as well as the amount of event currency earned.

- Players can receive Epic Catalyst upon defeating boss starting from Normal stage difficulty.



[Stream Stages]

- Stage 9. Hear Me Out! is a stream stage where you can unlock and participate by donating.



- Stream stages have special animations, special illustrations, and character voiceovers.

- Just like Story stages, Stream stages do not require Energy to enter and do not contain any battles.



■ Exchange

- Players will be able to exchange the currency collected from battle stages for items in the Exchange.

8. The Book of Memories - Romantic Getaway Update


 

The Special Side Story, Romantic Getaway will be added to The Book of Memories.

 

Ran and Amid have been spending their days together ever since Natalon found peace.

One day, after hearing that they could be rewarded with a token that represented eternal love, they make their way to the Black Bunny Office.

Soon enough, the two hit the road on a journey of a lifetime...

- This story will have the basic mechanics of other Side Stories.

- Players can replay stories via Story Replay on the main screen of the Special Side Story after clearing the purchased Special Side Story.

- Players can receive the rest of the rewards upon reaching 'Record Complete' after clearing the story and achievements. Once they hit 'Record Complete’, players will not be able to enter the Side Story map again.

- Stage Missions and rewards are not included in Special Side Stories purchased via The Book of Memories.

- Goblin Gates are not included in Special Side Stories purchased via The Book of Memories.

- Goblin and MolaGora Challenge stages and multi-difficulty stages are not included in Special Side Stories purchased via The Book of Memories.

- An issue where Focus was displayed for the 5 Hero, Operator Sigret, during battle will be fixed. No functional changes will be made.

- Quick Battling counts, which allows players to instantly clear stages in Hunt or Spirit Altar, will be purchasable with Skystone.

    Purchase Conditions: Purchasable when players have spent all Quick Battling counts.

    Purchase Limit: Up to 6 times a day

    Price: The price increases with each purchase round.

This is why they need 4 week prior announcements rather than 2 week announcements.
So players dont spend mola, and penguins, and cata, and gear building a unit they may have bought with galaxy coins or from a banner that SG now gets to lose money refunding because they decided to cancel a buff with less than 24 hours notice.

You wanna listen to the community? Great.
Give time for the community to respond and for discussions to be had.
This way you don't react to a handfull of RTA Silver players pretending they know whats best for balance (like you did with pFlan)


Otherwise don't cancel expectations.  
If FCC wasnt good enough - re-balance/tweak later.

This is the second time you cancel perfectly fine buffs because of silver stove users complaining. We get one balance patch a season and you fooled us with one large one then went back to spamming micro patches. You release that embarrassment of a patch in pre-season then as soon as you receive any criticism from anyone for the next one you run away and cancel buffs people are looking forward to. Why are you so eager to listen to people who clearly know nothing about game or unit balance

Since you are making me schlep all the way over to this webpage to get your attention, I am reluctantly planning to have far greater presence here moving forward.

For the record: I would have stopped complaining about fceci needing a buff if you went through with it. I would have even been happy with it. But now my expectations for fceci are gonna be a lot higher. She better become at least as relevant and as fun as ml luna for me to be happy. One idea is to include fire ceci's s2 as an extra attack/passive proc.

(also going big now: buff dominiel, her s2 is unreliable. give s2 cleanse, before a 100% chance to activate blizzard cape prior to her or allies taking damage from a critical hit (3 turn cooldown). and s3 strip buff prior to aoe stun, soulburn adds frostbite debuff for 2 turns. damage for s1/s3 scaled off Eff. gains more Eff off of damage received. this way she is anti cleave, control, but also can do damage.)

1st tell us what feedback you got. tell us what you wanted for FCC & why said feedback did not align. you pull excuses from a black box and indirectly/unintentionally pin the blame on one part of the community.

2nd tell us what priorities & target audiences you have for pvp. what is your thought process for each patch? they are not well received as we never understand what you are trying to do, and you seem to be incredibly out of touch of what is plaguing the game.


3rd you lack of clarity in direction. what classifies for valid feedback; 15% is still prevalent but FCC is reverted? why must STOVE w/ 1k chara limit be your only source of feedback? does in-depth discussion with big creators in the space not matter?


tell me why I, and many others who (used to) love the game, should still continue to support and play epic7 when other games & devs do better?

I am an E7WC player, and I cannot understand why FCC was reverted instead of Lilias. The changes to FCC were purely a buff. We're not discussing whether the buff was sufficient, but at least there were no aspects weaker than before. This is completely different from the changes made to pFlan.

When a character's modifications do not involve any nerfs, why can SG revert the changes the day before implementation? I believe this is the worst possible practice, completely beyond imagination. If the buffs weren't enough, they could have continued to enhance them in subsequent patches, rather than deducting them in this insincere patch and making people wait another 56 days.

By the way, this patch nerfed Lilias, which is the part that should have been reverted. Or at least, a recall should have been issued for Lilias.

I'm agast. What in the actual... fine if you want us commenting on Stove have it your way, here's your feedback. Fire whoever reviewed comments about the balance patch or scratch the ai you made review those, it simply doesn't make any sense to listen to 10 ish comments saying the buffs are not enough when the community, the real community outside of this damnable website, was really looking forward to them.

Now it'll be 2 months befire Fceci sees some light and I bet all my money the "revised" Fceci changes will be actually worse because they have shown us time and time again that they can't balance this game to save their lives, we had good buffs now they'll surely fumble after 2 months of Fceci gathering dust yet again.

I want to be optimistic but it simply it's impossible with a developer that listens to nonsensical ramblings of the only two or three guys that use stove and complain about buffs. Who knows, next time they'llsurely complain again and we'll have Fceci buffs for 2026.

this dev team can’t get anything right lately. This has been without a doubt the worst 6 month stretch of this games history. Since the October balance patch and epic dash there hasn’t been ANYTHING of substance just fumbles everywhere. 

The Fallen CC buff not happening is soooooo fu sad man, I will never again spend in this game epic 7.  Or trust what stove is saying again.

As someone who doesn't ever post, I had to. Please understand data and statistics as you review them SG.  Data is up for interpretation in intent and interpretation.  

To preface, I am a day 1 player and have always ranked high emperor.

The fceci buffs were great.  Def not underwhelming as some thought, debatable whether she's too strong.  What I can say for certain is that even if she ends up a bit too strong, it's within the realm of reason compared to previous meta definers like candy or bmh. There's a strong argument to be made about how Diene's buffs in terms of margins of effectiveness/uniqueness of impact compared to the rest of the characters within the soul weaver pool, they look like 3* or 4* characters in comparison.

WTF Choux ee?  They can ninja broken ml5 ee's but listen to random community players on announced buffs?


Smilegate, please have consistency in your actions and words.  SG getting so shady.

Consult high mmr players who actually care and know how the game works.

This is officially the worst balance patch I have seen in any game in years;

You dare to say "Listen to players"; 

You take away the only thing players have been looking thing people were looking forward to in months, after some really slow months of no content the day of the update. You must be kidding! you better be kidding! 

We will never forgive you for the canceled FCC buffs.

For myself, I had a budget of 100€ per month for this game; a game I like, I game I am really thinking of uninstalling now. 

Simply because it shows no care given by the devs to the game and the voices of the community

I'm very glad Fallen Cecilia's balance adjustments are being postponed (not cancelled unlike Pirate Captain Flan's) in order to give her BETTER buffs that this beloved character deserves and many more people can enjoy, because the announced changes just weren't it and most of us were duly disappointed and even demoralized by the underwhelming improvements (especially compared to other characters) and Smilegate being tone deaf towards the community and their own promotion of these characters (E7WC 2024 and Days of Piercing Cold).

I'm disappointed that the pinned (most upvoted) comments here are highly negative about this development, some even dismissive and derogatory towards concerned fellow players who make up a majority, on top of being unreasonable, even though Smilegate is showing good will by issuing refunds for everything, completely unprompted at that even though it's not actually warranted. This is just shameful. As a community we should be better, they listen, show patience.


At TristenWulf's comment, it's categorically wrong to call this a repeat of Pirate Flan's incident (no need to further explain why) and to disparage rightfully concerned players and make a strawman out of them, but I agree with the ideas behind some things said.

Meaningful discussion should happen here for the developers to see. Do comment in a constructive, civil manner, on if you agree, disagree (or anything in-between) with each change and suggest how to improve them. For that, moderation should be put in place in order to prevent all the unconstructive, inflammatory, rude and vulgar comments from cluttering the space making good comments less visible for everyone. The "likes" system should be reworked. For players that don't comment much here, make surveys in order to gauge the reaction to each proposed change, and promote in-game.

Give more time for the community to review and provide feedback. Invite some players from all skill levels to beta test changes after the annoucement.

Smilegate however should make a stand and remain firm that the balance update proposals are NOT final and always subject to change. After all, it's the core premise that they're asking for feedback here in order to make further changes, which can range from slightly tuning up or down to complete reworks (which take further development time and testing than tweaking numbers). They shouldn't have to bend over backwards and refund everyone that chose not to wait and jumped the gun on proposed changes that were not final yet when they actually listen and act on feedback to make further changes as we have asked. In this context the responsability lies on you, the player, not on the developer.

However, Smilegate should also avoid, as much as it's reasonable, to do things that enable people to make those mistakes and the demands that follow. Wait before launching a Cecilia rate-up summon (for the imprints), and before putting Fallen Cecilia in the shop, until the changes are final and live.

TheAdmireAs for launching the changes anyway and making further changes later, I don't think that's a good idea or practical in this case. Once the character is set in a direction (in this case the same direction she was in but with bigger numbers) and also given things like a Speed imprint, if you want to rework her later taking away some of those things in the process then you're wide open to face backlash for a "nerf" and having to issue a total recall and incur in futher loses. You get the actual Pirate Flan incident where she was getting reworked and made very good but also different, and we know what happened.

As said earlier, players should be responsible of their choices, and accept that proposals are subject to change if we're to actually participate in the balancing process, but this is a rare occurrence with the change not going through and SG has already met them in the middle by issuing refunds. And what about canceling our expectations for Pirate Flan or actually great Ceci buffs?

I have listened to what some content creators had to say and how they were looking forward to play with this new Fallen Cecilia in the specific scenarios given (high level World Arena [RTA] by exploiting the Speed imprint, heightened mitigation ability, and hypothetical increased damage, in aggressive compositions), but even then they admit she wasn't going to be amazing or very good but at least she would see some play again as opposed to zero play.

I am glad to see enthusiasm from the big voices in the community but in this one case what they were calling "good enough" buffs are just not good enough for many of us who have come to love this character and want to see her shine.

The vast majority of players, the very life of our game, play PvE, Arena, Guild War, and low-to-mid level RTA, and so taking only the highest level RTA into account, and having a good chunk of her newfound viability relying on maxed imprints, would be just wrong. Now might be our one chance to get it right.

Fallen Cecilia is the counterpart to New Moon Luna as the co-protagonist of Days of Piercing Cold and poster girl of E7WC 2024, both being powerhouses in lore and some of the most beautiful characters ever made. It's only right that their strength in-game matches the lore and the excitement that these two carry behind them, and that's just what most of the community has been looking forward, not only since last year but for a long time now since she already was quite popular.

I also wanted to bring forth that Fallen Ceci's battle sprite is not up to date with the current, high quality standards and to encourage Smilegate to give her an animation rework to match with the beautiful artwork she always had and with how she appears in the PV animation for Frozen Eclipse.

Finally, I really want Epic Seven to keep thriving, for the developer-community exchange to be positive and fruitful, and for quality feedback not to go to waste since it's those people that really do care.


It's a shame that the FCC buff has been cancelled. I was looking forward to her buff, we'll just have to wait now. Would it have been possible to put these buffs through while a rework is going on?  unfortunate that that work is now just gone


Will try to be more active rather than passive in the future to avoid losing out on buffs like this.

Well, first time commenting on Stove I guess I will start by saying you shouldn't have reverted without communicating back first, second you don't need to revert instantly , you could let the buff out for like 1 week and see how people react to it and how it will perform in RTA, then you take a decision, like damn, most of these people are clowns who don't even have an idea of what is a good buff or bad buff they don't even know how much the damage was increased and how much the barrier was increased, they didn't even had a chance to experiment and neither anyone will because you had to revert the changes

I'll definitely say this buff was not bad it actually gave her a pretty unique design even though there was nothing new THE IDEA WAS NEW because she would be the first speed imprint that is not design to kill or limit the opponent in some kinda of way, and she could be used outside of being a speed imprint, sadly this and pflan incident happened , and that's what I got to say.

What the literal F? Why would you cancel a perfectly fine buff on a character that's just taking up bench space for most people? There's no law saying you can't buff her again, and I know you've buffed and reworked plenty of characters multiple times. Just buff her!
