Got it figured out. Google's $0.00 3 month subscription trial doesn't include offers (the $5 discounts). You have to pay the $5 monthly supscription for the $5 discount (waste of time), or pay the $30 yearly supscription for a total of $15 discounts because the offer only lasts 3 months. This is a Google scam.
