11/21 (Thu) Hellion Lua Balance Adjustment Preview [97]

We would like to inform you that the 5★ Moonlight Hero, Hellion Lua, will undergo a balance adjustment.
Hellion Lua was designed as a high Speed Hero with versatile utility. Her skill, Lua's Challenge, can provoke enemies, limiting their actions while granting powerful effects such as increasing Combat Readiness of all allies and triggering Counterattacks after being attacked. Her design focused on making a significant presence when enemies take action, rather than relying solely on quickly ending battles by chaining ally turns after her own.
However, her passive skill, Lua Squad, becomes considerably less effective against Heroes that limit Counterattacks, and if the provoke effect from Lua's Challenge fails, her overall impact is noticeably diminished. Following her release, many Heirs voiced their concerns about her usability, and data analysis also confirmed that her performance fell short of the design's original intentions.
In light of this, we are implementing a balance adjustment for the 5★ Moonlight Hero, Hellion Lua. We apologize for any inconvenience, and appreciate your understanding as the balance adjustment will be applied during the Mystic Summon period.

Challenge (Undispellable): After counterattacking, when the target is a Hero, deals additional damage equivalent to 8% of the target's max Health. First, the cooldown of Lua's Challenge will be reduced by 1 turn. This adjustment addresses the issue where Hellion Lua's impact in battle diminished significantly after using her first skill and triggering allies' Counterattacks through her passive skill, Lua Squad. While the number of Soul gained will decrease by 1 due to the cooldown reduction, the skill can now be used more frequently. This allows her to continuously grant Counterattacks and Speed increases to allies while dispelling buffs from the enemy and provoking them, thereby enhancing her overall impact in battle.
Second, the additional damage from the Challenge buff will be increased, and its activation condition will change from triggering after a Counterattack to triggering after using a basic skill. Previously, Lua Squad was difficult to utilize in situations where allies couldn't Counterattack or the battle ended before the enemy attacked, which also made it challenging to activate Challenge's effects. Now that the effect can be triggered through basic skills, the reliance on Lua Squad's Counterattack effect will be reduced, and it will become easier to activate the Challenge effect.
The balance adjustment for the 5★ Moonlight Hero, Hellion Lua, is scheduled to be applied during the update on 11/21 (Thu).
We hope that this adjustment will allow Hellion Lua to play a more active role in Epic Seven. Once again, we ask for your understanding as this balance adjustment will be implemented during the Mystic Summon period.

She seems fine. She looked balanced before, and after the balance adjustment looks better.

To everyone wondering if the buffs make her worth pulling: Y E S.
Source: Been top 200 RTA 3+ years. straight.
She was already a solid unit when picked 3rd on ban prot to disarm a lot of aggressive and control strategies.
Top 10 players like Caerliss (GL) & paradise (KR) are basically 80%+ winrate already with her. Look them up.
Looking at stats as a whole, in emperor, her win rate is on par with Top Model Luluca, Briar Witch Iseria, and Harsetti, which are the 3 most complained about draft archetypes in the community atm.
If you're actually out on stove looking for actual useful information to learn from, don't. most people here just want to yap and don't actually play the game. Look elsewhere.
Buffing her as is now will probably not make her broken, but shoot her way up in usage & priority.
This was the one skippable ML unit the community has been begging for (we got like 3-4 giga broken ones in a row), and now she is no longer skippable. pick a lane.
this won't do anything. Her skills were not the problem, it is her kit as a whole. There are too many units you can pick to completely nullify her existence. this "buff" will not fix that. she is as useful as mlken now, thanks to units like mort. she will not debuff thanks to cleansers and cleansing artifacts. there is a whole list of things that is wrong with her.
scenario when you can pick lua and she works:
Woooow… this is lame, she needs to have a passive rework and have something else to help her do something. she is still a useless unit for pve
