    An idea for a Earth Yufine buff

    She's not very used at all, and for such a fun character, it's a tad sad.

    From playing her a lot, her main issue is that she requires a lot of setup for a rather underwhelming outcome. There are two ways of using her : using silence openers to set and bridge her up, and using S3 to deal huge damage to one enemy ; or have her use her S2 with her 20 souls soulburn to silence enemies, get an additional turn, and deal huge damage to one enemy, or in rarer cases, both.

    Now, this sounds nice in theory, as a high risk high reward gameplan, but in practice many common compositions end up blocking her one way or another, and requiring this much set up for this outcome has become less and less worth it over time. It's hard to justify using her where other picks often require less of a setup for an equivalent or better outcome.

    So, in order to keep the high risk high reward concept of her gameplan, but updating it to better balance the reward against the risk, I believe a simple change could be interesting to explore :

    - Bake in the additional turn of her S2's soulburn in the skill directly (and the accompanying buff duration increase), and remove the soulburn from it.

    - Place the new soulburn, a 20 souls additional turn still, now on her S3.


    This is a straight buff that grants her more flexibility as she has less of a setup required, allowing her kit to function in a vacuum using S2 to silence enemies and her S3 immediately after instead of requiring a book holder (or equivalent).
    The addition of the soulburn on her S3 works well with her current kit, where she can keep using her S3 so long as she finishes off the targeted enemy and has the required 20 souls. I like this idea, because it's a very simple improvement that brings larger corollary effects that take full advantage of her current kit's strengths. As she is still being used in PvE content, the simplicity of the change means her performance in such content is left untouched (if not slightly improved).

    Doing this, she becomes a larger threat against susceptible drafts, needing to be taken care of, still focused to be used in cleave or fast-aggro teams like she was after her old buff (now dating from 2 to 3 years back). She would nowadays become a good fit alongside soulburn-based characters, like Frida or ML Ludwig.


    However, she is still vulnerable to many units capable of dealing with her, especially in the current meta, where many units get protection against being killed in one attack (evasion units - or simply fire units, units like BBK or Amiki, damage limit units, etc). B.Dom would directly counter her, and her S2 is still countered by units like ice Elena or A.Tywin. Of course, penetration resistance is still also a way to deal with her. Soul-removing mechanics are on the table as well.

    The idea with this is to not exactly address her weaknesses directly, but to have the amount of setup she requires to be variable : the baseline is lowered, as she now has the possibility to enable her combo with less assistance, but also has the possiblity of scaling her combo's strength with the more assistance she get from her team.
    This can move the requirement of the compositions she'd be in less towards granting her the resources she needs to be able to use her baseline combo, and more towards dealing with the enemies which would prevent her from using it. In cases where using it is easier, she could be a more significant threat as well.
    And to be honest, I'm trying to figure out how it would play out, but the main reason I'm sharing this is because it's an idea of a buff that I find could be extremely fun too :)
