Thoughts on Specialty Change Designs [1]
Hello Fellow E7 Enjoyers,
I am writing a post to assess the current populations perception of recently released 3* specialty change designs. (Amiki, Christy, Glenn, Ainos etc.)
Specialty changes are one of my favorite aspects of the game, it allows 3 star units to shine and be more than just fodder and memes, it allows them to stand up to 4-5 stars and be in a competitive scene and look the part too. And while its hard to deny that they are great buffs/reworks of the unit, as shown by how powerful Amiki is now, I am finding that many newer recent SCs dont look the role. . . they still look . . . 3*. . ?
The reality is art and design is always subjective and in the eye of the beholder, but I find myself disappointed by many of the designs of recent SCs, they feel "cheap", for a lack of a better descriptor. For comparison, lets look at some OG SCs like F.Kluri, her design as a 3* was plain and boring. But then in her SC they not only redid her entire model, "aura?", clothing style, accessories, weapon, and even added a theme (being a falconer, and added a flacon), it just feels like much more work and thought was done into the SC, she truly had a transformation, while recent ones like Christy and Amiki just got longer hair (which is obviously an understatement, but can you deny its not a huge change). Overall, I feel that 3* SC now are a shade of what they use to be and what they could be. The SCs for the 3*s feels like they are robbed of a chance to change into something better, something great. I mean look at Aiden, is it possible to deny the difference in thought, work, and quality of that specialty change vs (Amiki, Christy, Glenn, Ainos etc.)? Indeed, Aiden is a MC, but I just wish every 3* character has a chance to "glow up" along side buffs. After all, this is a playable animation, and an animation leaves much to be desired without great graphics and design.
But as I emphasize again, design is in the eye of the beholder and it could very well be that I am not "vibe-ing" with recent designs. But that's enough togue-flaps from me, what does everyone think of the recent SC designs? Are they subpar or meeting quality control.

Kluri SC was done by the very original Supercreative team in the first year when they were not bought by SG. They have the ability and will to integrate SC into the story.
Amiki SC has mediocre artwork, good animation and a broken skill set. Its balance is a total failure, maybe they want to prove insane strength can make up for any other aspects of shortcoming. I think it proves the opposite, a lot of people don't use SC Amiki regardless of how strong she is.
