I approached the artwork with the idea that the characters from +99 Reinforced Wooden Stick were visiting the Epic Seven universe. I also tried to preserve the original art style of each work to showcase their unique qualities. In this regard, I enjoyed interpreting the concept of exchanging costumes as a welcoming symbol and the harmonious blending of the two worlds, making the creative process quite enjoyable. Q. There seems to be similarities between Urus and Arkasus, as they both have both imposing and adorable aspects. What were your initial impressions upon seeing Arkasus in Epic Seven? (Please feel free to express your thoughts and feelings.) A. The aspect where both possess a powerful physique and a cute mascot appearance was appealing. Furthermore, Arkasus's inherently adorable design led me to imagine a playful scenario where Urus, in a fit of jealousy, competes for the title of the main mascot by playfully biting Arkasus's tail. Q. If Ji-u Lee and Vildred were on the same team, do you think they would make good teammates? A. Ji-u Lee might not initially appreciate Vildred's seriousness, and Vildred might find Ji-u's light-heartedness challenging, but I believe they would respect each other for their unwavering commitment to their principles and their willingness to go to great lengths to uphold them. Q. What do you think makes Epic Seven characters so appealing?A. The most prominent aspect, undoubtedly, is their captivating appearance. You can gather a lot about the characters just by examining their designs. Furthermore, the conflict of diverse ideals and beliefs in the battle to save the restored world from the Archdemon adds depth and complexity to the characters, making them even more intriguing.
