Epic Birthday Conference Summary Notice (Part 2)

Q: How are improvements to the Raid Labyrinth proceeding?

A: As we mentioned in the previous conference, Raid Labyrinth is one of the most difficult areas when it comes to balancing content. It requires a long time to farm and also has a high chance of failing, especially Hell Raid mode. At first, it was designed so that different Heroes and team compositions were necessary in order to clear the bosses. However, unlike our original intention, using Heroes who can maximize morale from camping became the only way to clear this content.

Therefore, we’d like to share our future update plans for Raid Labyrinth.

As all 5 bosses of Hell Raid Labyrinth are being added, it will be changed to monthly content instead of being weekly, as it is now. The other bosses will hide once you kill any boss, so players can only attack a single boss per entry. Instead, the amount of main reward, raid currency, you get from the content will increase along with the addition of a first clear reward and shortcuts.

Please refer to the following for more detailed information. First, players will be able to experience the sense of achievement they first felt when opening a Gold Chest or when they achieved a first clear reward from a normal Labyrinth or Adventure. From this, the Raid Labyrinth will also share this same trait, difficult but valuable rewards that are given after clearing the content for the first time. We hope this change works as a motivation for those who haven’t cleared Raid Labyrinth. Moreover, even those who have already cleared the Raid Labyrinth will be able to receive a first clear reward after the update once they clear it again. Below are the items you can receive for clearing the Raid Labyrinth for the first time.

Please note that the above image is still in development and may appear different upon its release.

Second, the amount of Coronation Souvenirs and Queen's Guard Badges players can acquire from killing each of the bosses of Raid Labyrinth will increase to 2. In total, players can get the increased amount of 10 Coronation Souvenirs, increased from the 6 available currently. As all the 5 bosses are added to Hell difficulty and being redesigned to be monthly content, players will be able to receive a total of 10 currency by the end of week 4, increased from current maximum of 8. This will help to decrease player stress and increase the number of items that can be exchanged from the Logistics Officer.

Third, a shortcut portal will be added that leads directly to the boss after the first clear. Players can focus more on eliminating the boss without troubling themselves with getting there. Players can decide whether they would like to use the portal and proceed directly to the boss, or if they would like to collect items and Souls instead and take the regular path to the boss.

As the current Raid Labyrinth requires a large amount of time and effort, we tried to find a way to reduce the stress of this content, which was seen as being a weekly task that was mandatory. This was achieved by modifying Hell Raid Labyrinth.

After the update, all players can acquire a quality item as a first clear reward for Normal Raid Labyrinth. Hell Raid Labyrinth will still be a challenge and any players who successfully cleared it will be rewarded with the highest grade items. Go for it anytime during the month if you’ve acquired the entry ticket. The shortcut and the doubling of currency rewards will guarantee you better items from the exchange shop.

The Raid Labyrinth will be updated after receiving ample opinions from the players. Please contact us through the community.

Q: Are there any plans to improve Camping System?
A: “Morale” which is gained from camping is key for attacking the Labyrinth efficiently. We understand our player’s desire for us to redesign the camping system, as the random nature of it often decreases the overall morale of the party, making it difficult to eliminate some bosses. We’d like to share our future plans about this system below.

First, the camping lines will not decrease morale anymore. As morale is one of the most crucial factors in the Labyrinth, the loss of morale will be minimized. After the update, morale will only increase, not decrease, from camping lines.

Second, when choosing the lines, the Hero’s reactions will be more visually intuitive. Players may refer to this before choosing a camping line to see if it will have a positive effect on morale.

Finally, the voice lines of Heroes, excluding Collaboration Heroes, will be added to the camping scene. Players can go to a Hero windows and listen to these lines again after reaching Friendship Level 9. This will help players to feel a closer bond to their Heroes.

These camping related improvements are planned to be updated within October.

Q: When will the next Labyrinth be added?
A: Currently, Normal Labyrinth – Nixied’s Sanctum, has three Zones that are available to our players. Additional zones, up to Zone 5 are in development now. Here’s a preview of one of the more powerful bosses that will appear in this updated content.

However, this update is planned for after the Labyrinth renewal which was discussed above. We apologize for the delay.

Q. Are there any plans to improve the daily Check-In rewards?

A. The Daily Check-in Rewards are scheduled to be improved with the update scheduled for 9/5.

Rewards will include, Galaxy Bookmarks, Mystic Medals, and 4-5 ★ Hero/Artifact Summon tickets that were previously difficult to obtain. After the update, players will be able to receive both the standard Check-in reward as well as the improved Check-in reward. However, once the standard Check-In reward completes its current cycle at the time of the update, it will not restart.

Please note that the above image is still in development and may appear different upon its release.

Q. Are there any plans to add content such as battles with friends or guild members, and a replay function? When will the Real Time Arena be available?

A. We are planning to update Real Time Arena content, which will include battles with friends and battle replays. Starting from the Real Time Arena update, we are planning to add content that allow our Heirs to re-watch completed battles, watch other Heir’s battles, and participate in friendly matches with friends or guild members.

Real Time Arena is scheduled to be updated this year, and we will include a screenshot of the content that is currently in development.

Please note that the above image is still in development and may appear different upon its release.

Real Time Arena will also have different Seasons and will have a separate ranking system from the regular Arena mode. Real Time Arena reward will be based on ranking, with the rewards being Skins and other honor based rewards.

Real-time Arena is designed to be a 4vs4 battle and each player will take turns selecting five Heroes, with each Hero becoming unavailable once one player has chosen them. Players not only need to consider their team composition, but also the opponent’s, since both players can ban one Hero on the opposing team.

Q. Are there any plans to have another collaboration with a famous IP or any plans to create merchandise?

A. We remember the interest that many of our Heirs showed with our collaboration with Guilty Gear. We are also planning a collaboration for the future which we hope will satisfy all of our Heirs. Currently though, it’s difficult to give additional details as we are at a review stage at the moment. However, we will give our players more details later on when plans are more solidified.

Additionally, we are also considering producing merchandise using the Epic Seven IP. However, we believe that it will take some time before we can introduce it to our Heirs, as we want to make sure that we have enough time to review the quality of these items so that our Heirs only receive the highest quality merchandise that they deserve.

Q. Are there any plans to improve the utility of duplicate Heroes?

A. As was mentioned in a previous announcement, there are plans to improve the usefulness of duplicate Heroes with changes to the Memory Imprint system, which is scheduled for October. We are also looking into a system where players can earn Tokens when receiving a duplicate Hero, which can be exchanged for a Hero Selector. However, we will first proceed with the improvements to the Memory Imprint system and review these changes before proceeding with additional improvements.

Q. Do you plan to sell a name change ticket?

A. We do not have any plans of adding this function because we’re concerned about the negative impact that a nickname change ticket could bring in regards to account sellers. However, please know that we are still closely reviewing the ability for players to change their nickname.

Q. Are there any plans to separate Artifacts from the summons?

A. We don’t have any plans yet to separate Heroes and Artifacts from each other. The Powder of Knowledge Shop was introduced so that players could take Artifacts they did not want, and use them to purchase Artifacts that they wish to use. While this solution may seem disappointing, please understand that the game was balanced in this way, so it is very difficult to place Artifacts and Heroes into different summoning areas.

Q. Will there be a feature to skip cut-scenes?

A. There have been many questions regarding a feature to skip cut-scenes. To address that question, the Epic Seven team believes that our cut-scenes are an integral part of our identity and for that reason, we are not considering a feature to allow players to skip cut-scenes.

Q. Are there any additional Quality of Life improvements scheduled?

A. One suggestion that many of our Heirs have requested was the ability to name their teams. With our September update, the ability to name teams will be implemented. Additionally, the Hero selection screen has been expanded as to display more information, such as Memory Imprint effects.

In our most recent update, we’ve been doing our best to include many of the Quality of Life suggestions made by our Heirs. For example, in the previous update on 8/22, Artifact effects that were applied during battle were improved to be clearer, and in the Arena, a timer for Protector’s Punishment now displays. We will continue to listen to the opinions of our Heirs and work to implement additional Quality of Life improvements.

Over the past year, we have had precious moments with our Heirs and now, Epic Seven is celebrating its first anniversary. We truly appreciate all of the support you have shown us, and we will do our best to make sure that our Heirs continue to enjoy every moment spent playing Epic Seven.

Thank you
