◤Developer Note: Additional Notice Regarding the Season 4 Balance Adjustments◢

Zero Out All Despair!
Hello, this is the Chaos Zero Nightmare development team
We would like to sincerely apologize for the disappointment and sense of loss many Protos experienced following the Season 3 Season Power adjustments. In our efforts to provide new experiences and engaging content, we failed to uphold our responsibility to preserve the value of the time and effort each and every one of you have invested in Chaos Zero Nightmare.
In addition, we also apologize for creating balance issue inconveniences that resulted from our insufficient testing of Season 3’s Season Power while preparing the Half-Anniversary update.
Even after we became aware of the Season’s balance situation, we recalled past cases and debated at length over what to do and when to do it. Yet rather than adjusting immediately — without even giving you the chance to properly make use of the Save Data you had built up over such a long time — we reached the mistaken decision that “it would be better to make the adjustments once the next season begins and a new meta takes shape.” We also should have promptly communicated our future plans, if only through an official notice, but we failed to do even that.
Throughout our discussions, we asked ourselves again and again whether there was truly no way to resolve this without a downward adjustment, and we searched for alternatives. However, we concluded that these adjustments were unavoidable in order to maintain balance between previous seasons and those to come, while ensuring gameplay diversity.
Save Data isn’t just the simple result of a roguelite run; instead, it functions as a central piece in a Combatant’s loadout. Knowing all this, that it takes a considerable amount of time and care to craft these pieces, we still made the wrong decision and we sincerely apologize for our carelessness.
Though we may be late to address these issues, we have received your feedback and we acknowledge that our judgment was flawed and will be taking steps to correct it.
The Season 3 Season Power adjustments will be withdrawn, and Morale·Fortitude·Resolve will be changed to 20 max stacks.
We believe it is our responsibility alone to bear the burden of the balance issues created by the excessive strength of Season 3 Season Power. With the conviction that protecting the time and effort our Protos have invested is our highest priority, we have decided to fully reverse these changes.
For Morale, Fortitude, and Resolve, we implemented a cap out of concern that, if performance were determined solely by continuously stacking shared effects, each character's unique cards and mechanics would lose their value, ultimately resulting in a more homogeneous gameplay experience. However, we recognize that the originally announced cap of 15 was perceived as overly restrictive by many Protos. In response, we have decided to adjust the cap to 20.
However, following careful review, we have decided to proceed with certain adjustments as originally planned.
While we revisited the [Damage Increase Cap for Orlea’s Softie Card] and [Equipment Effect Adjustments] topics in our previous Developer’s Note and conducted another thorough review, we ultimately concluded that the excessive synergies and level of influence they currently exert beyond their intended design make them difficult to reconcile with the game's current systems. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to retain the originally proposed changes.
Moving forward, we will revise how we approach balance adjustments. Instead of adjusting the Season Power effects from the recently completed Seasons, we will instead look toward improving the Season power values of future seasons.
In addition, we will ensure that sufficient testing environments and resources are in place prior to release, and allocate a review period commensurate with the development schedule, so that balance issues of this nature do not occur again.
We would like to reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that the time and effort our Protos have devoted to the game will never be in vain.
To express both our sincere apology and our commitment to learning from this mistake, we will be revising the previously announced compensation and distributing the updated rewards accordingly.
We have adjusted the previously announced compensation as follows. We know this alone cannot fully convey how sorry we are, but we ask for your generous understanding.
