I'm in the same boat as you. Also where is playable Louis? Why isn't he playable? When I saw him I instantly thought he was such a cool character that it would be waste to not make him playable. I'm sure plenty of people likes cool and badass male characters too. Males will sell if they put in the effort of designing their kits well and not making them weak. I'm not even asking for them to make broken overpowered male characters. I just want them to be decent enough to play and have fun with. HSR did it with Phainon. Males can sell! Please Smilegate! Give us badass cool dudes!

I've been playing CZN pretty much since the beginning because the game caught my interest—it reminded me of Counterside—and the horror element also made me think it could be as interesting as Limbus Company.

But what I find disappointing right now is that there are no male characters, even though at the very beginning of the game we had characters like Luke, Kayron, Hugo, etc. I think a well-written male character like Louis, who appears in the story, would be just as interesting as a female character.

I just hope the devs don’t go overboard with the fan service, because it’s already hard enough to find interesting things to say about the game—despite the gameplay—and I just don’t want it to turn into another Brown Dust or Snow Break.

Yes, more variety, and you're even using generative AI for your concept art. You could have offered gender swaps for the characters to easily satisfy everyone without much effort, but no. What's the point of releasing a mixed-gender game if you're just going to give us the same characters? Even the partners are all women. How about you grow a pair, Smilegate, and stand by your own choices? Because aside from watching this game plummet and using the same methods as Outerplane, you're alienating everyone to protect a vocal minority.

I'm also for more men characters, and more "dark" and "serious" character, boy or girl, like narja,nine,luke, kayron,renoa etc...
Most people play for the gameplay; putting one or two male characters every eight or nine banners seems okay.

I signed up on here just to say I agree. I've played this game and I like it a lot. But there's been a bait-and-switch I was sold on a cosmic horror story with good diverse cast and good story.

It's descending into harem game (the latest char shoots bullets of love??) and I will stop paying and playing if this continues. It's just uninteresting seeing buxom woman after buxom woman with barely any backstory and loving the Protos for no good reason.

I'm tired of female character only games. I love cool characters with cool designs. I'm not asking for no more females. Just throw us a bone every season or two that you're not just catering to vocal subsets who have to sexualize everything they touch. How can the same company putting out bangers like this be so ignorant? 

Gooners will not financially support the future of this game and I'm not going to stick around for teenage harem garbage.

I feel the same way. As a woman, I’d also like to see more male characters. Just because they release female characters with big breasts doesn’t mean they’ll be successful. I personally like certain female characters, like Narja or Rin.They’ve only released women like that, and yet revenue is dropping, so that’s not what’s really keeping players engaged.
But for the most part, it’s the gameplay—even if the quality of life features aren’t quite there yet. They should consider appealing to a broader community with male characters and furries—even if it’s “just” ears and a tail—and not like Hugo (though I’d still like another one like him). 

BTW: Just because some guys like to play certain characters doesn't mean they're gay—people need to stop overreacting. If we follow that logic, does that mean all women who play female characters are lesbians? No. 

Just like men, we like to play characters we enjoy, whether they're male or female.

There are LOTS of people who want males, as well as women who aren't big booba mommies. 

We want males! We don't even expect or ask for a 50/50 ratio! One ever other season or every two seasons would be enough! We know the drill, games with good gameplay don't cater to us! We're used to the occasional crumb! We shouldn't be but we are! Just an occasional male is all we ask!

Got out liked by people asking for males on reddit. And CZN's reddit is incredibly anti male, so even THEY are starting to be like "Alright yeah throw them SOMETHING, if only to make them be quiet."

If the game doesn't want to release male at all might as well do that from the start. Becoming another Azur Lane or Blue Archive.

Straight men are the target audience. 

What people fail to realize is that all the revenue the game has made is off the backs of the female characters. 

Male character banners will only hurt the game and damage the playerbase. 

Despite what some people might say about the game being geared towards a male audience or the plot's theme requiring female characters to interact with the captain, I remind you that the game was always presented as a horror-themed game with characters like Kayron and Hugo as part of the main cast in its marketing and website prior to its release and not as a waifu collector.

Also l want to add that I myself as a straight guy with a bushy, manly Viking beard believe that anyone who refuses or argues that the game doesn't need to release more playable male characters is doing so because their masculinity is fragile and they're very insecure about their sexuality. That's right! I'm talking to you Owen haters!

PLease CZN team learn from Epic Seven and the amazing peak handsome and aura farming male designs in it and ADD MORE MALE CHARACTERS!!!

I guess Smilegate were too afraid for releasing male characters due to "Owen NTR" incident in Korean Community. If they're make the game for the spesific audience, and why were they released male characters in the first place? Story every season were like trash (this is not harem simulator game where every female character for unkwon reason fall in love for Captain in their first sight)

CZN already niche game and now you're making it more nicher by kill all casual players and male wanters. I'm not suprised by looking at the game revenue month by month are going to the downhill (I just want this game to be succeed).

But please adding male characters to the roster just like Smilegate's sibling game, Epic Seven, (their latest male character are Genesis Ras and Notos and I really like both of them so much)

You’re not gonna like this, but I strongly disagree and I hope the CZN devs sees my reply. We do not need more male players or forcefully have them for the sake of the ratio. If they are choosing the path of having waifus and cater to the majority of their audience then let them. This would hinder their originality of how the story would flow instead of thinking about “what gender should the next major character be, a male or a female?” Or “which gender character would bring us the most revenue?”. 

You mentioned LADs and how males sell well in that game, ofc they sell well because it’s ONLY males with an audience filled with male enjoyers in a market that lacks any real good game that caters to male enjoyers. That’s not at all *proof* that males sell well. Especially in a game where it is competing against OTHER ML games with waifus being the main selling point.

I agree with the devs decision on not adding males for the moment because it will hurt the game revenue and originality. Sorry.

I support this initiative; we need more diversity, we need to trust the community. Even if it's not planned for the immediate future, please accept the idea so that it becomes a possibility. Thank you.
