Viadeus - achievment [10]

So there is this achievment in current season to win vs Viadeus "without using any Attack Cards except Arena Cards".


I was wondering what other sources of damage will not count as "using Attack Cards" and here are my thoughts.


Those should work and not invalidate the achievment:

- mark

- counterattack

- metalization

- coordinated attack


Those "could" possibly work but may as well not:

- Veronicas ballistas - ? (i know they are counted as an attack card but often those do not trigger other events corelated with using attack cards - might as well work here) 

- Activation cards - ? (this  would make it very easy using Nine)

- cards that are skill or upgrade and deal damage as side effect but are not attack card - ? (for example Amirs [Full Metal Hurricane] card epi that turns it into upgrade that deals damage)


I am planning to tackle this achievment with team: Selena, Amir, Maribell (optional)


But was wondering if mayby someone has already done it and know something works or does not work.

I'm just playing, this achivement system for me its really boring, i prefer farming ephifanys and destroy my sanity in the reroll system.

Ok... managed to tackle this one with team:

- Beryl - as sugested earlier, good choice.

- Veronica - luckily i had that item Vine Camouflage: 2x evade gain on droping below 30% hp - this helped a lot.

- Amir - surprisingly, without her  and with Selena here i was strugling to survive long enough. Amir adds great layer of survivability for few extra turns with [Iron Skin] (had only 2x this card).


So my observation is this:

- Vine Camouflage is really great for this - if you are struggling, get 3x this item on characters

- Amirs [Iron Skin] does the same thing - get 4x this card if you are struggling (and small decks to guarantee you get one when needed). Also [Metal Extraction] applies vulnerability  on all enemies, and Veronica goes first before Beryl so that is great damage value too.

- them items that generate arena cards help a little but i think it is doable even without them (for example Second Method on Veronica is better than that item generating arena card).

I'm not sure if you have Spore harvester in Beryl's deck?


These spores have retain so what you have to do is use all 4 upgrades in 1st turn then let the spores multiply which they will overflow your hand by the 3rd turn. And by that time the boss is done.

S1761391596334311Ah indeed that it seems this is best strategy xD - 40 attacks per turn dealing about 300-400 each (depending on your gear/memory fragments) should do the trick.

Sadly i totally forgot about that card (used it for the first boss achievment and removed it from my memory since i hate it) and tackled this achievment without it :D.


Good call - thx for posting - someone will definetly find this and use it.

FalagorAs I suspected! This card is the game changer for Beryl that make her S-tier in this season by how fast you can get full hand of retain cards in just turn 2 (or 1 if you use Orlea.)

Yeah Beryl would be the most obvious choice imo, either that or a full shield+counter team, or I guess before you couldve Orlea spored and just attack with a monster card?

Went in with team:

- Selene - only mark and shield cards + 1 Pierce and 1 Heavy Blow on equipment (arena cards)

- Amir - only metalization, dmg reduction, and 3x [Full Metal Hurricane] as upgrade

- Nine - 3x [Fighting Spirit], [Hew] with shield, [Counterblade] with auto activation on turn start


Didn't get the achievment so i guess Activation is ruining it sadly - no shortcuts i guess xD...

I used Beryl as she's the easiest solver with retain extra attack. For Mark and Coordinated attack you will have to use attack card so it shouldn't work. Amir's materialization is impractical without her hurricane to set up materialization's multi hit via shielding. Only viable path other than Beryl I think is Counterattack, Renoa's bullet and Veronica's ballistae built.

Oh, right - forgot about the Beryl - thx :)


As for trigering Mark and Coordinated - i mean, i will have some attack cards from the Arena items (depending on type either odd/even turn) - those should trigger them.
