The type of people who complain about optional lobby art being too lewd for public display would've left after Sereniel's ribbon lobby. Nine's current censored art is still too much for them so this change pleases neither side. Let's be honest, anime adjacent products(let alone gachas) have literally never improved from adopting "Western Values"
A solution to the developers lack of a spine would be to poll or survey through the game. This would sort out opinions from tourists and fans who've put serious time and money into your game. You simply can't trust puritanical Discord moderators to aggregate the communities thoughts.
