I don't understand why they are locking this thing. Even with the mind so the player not missing the story shouldn't be like this.

dunno if it's being told in tutorial will help or not, but i hope they remove the locked story and make any player not confused with this problem.

You need to select the story branch that unlocks the E03 node first.

This isn’t well documented anywhere, but there is a line somewhere that says basically that you need to finish your current branch first, so when you are unlocking alternative branches, you have to go back to your most recent branch and work “backwards” through them.

If this confuses you, just try ALL the different story branch nodes; at least one will be open to you.  As you continue to open all the alternatives up, the previously locked ones will start opening too.

I had this same confusion while working through Renoa’s story.

idk how to help you, usually you just need to complete the branch and go back into the other route
