Just taking out frustration.

Getting absolutely destroyed on the first turn with full up. It was only the 4th node.. wasn’t even in the interior section yet. Something I noticed was that usually it would show how much dmg the enemy would do aka the alternating colors between red and green but it didn’t show so maybe it’s not a attack but a extra attack like how reona dirage bullets doesn’t show you the damage until it is done.

at least I'm not the only one that got absolutely destroyed by them for not reading their mechanic :D

They have interesting mechanics that switch action according to your move and when you have 0 card in hand they will fixate on dealing strong attack. Hope you learn and best them next time!

Actually, you just didn't read the description of the opponents;

Their action changes with each attack received, and if you have no cards in your hand, they make a strong attack;

I assume two things could have happened: 1) They were showing a passive action, you attacked and ended the turn quickly, causing them to switch to an offensive action without you seeing the pre-damage; or 2) They were showing passive actions, you ran out of cards in your hand and ended your turn, switching to offensive actions before showing pre-damage;

It's not a bug, it's a lack of reading; always check your opponents
