the thought of having to grind every new season [9]
I'm starting to feel burnt out....
I've been playing for hours per day, so that's something to note.
The combination of not getting the relic substats, epiphanies, copy cards, divine epiphanies... and useless unidentified areas such as demise gate appearing countless of time (that I'm starting to doubt if It's really a "rare" stage encounter).
I do have some amazing decks. Rin, veronica, and mika, I've gotten the cards that I want for them. But... Grinding those deck did used up a tremendous amount of my time. And those 3 are the only combatant that I'm fully satisfied. I don't think I'm satisfied with the deck of my renoa, keyron, nia, rei, and cassius.
Some people get their powerful deck fast, some people don't... Cuz that's what heavy RNG do to you.
Being able to use many kind of compositions is certainly interesting and something that I would like to try. But doing it would require a huge chunk of time investment to the game. I'm currently farming mainly for luke & cassius... And It's starting to feel tiring.
You know... The thought that I have to grind every new seasons kinda scare me. I've already gotten some of the best deck I could get, what do you mean I have to grind for it again facing bunch of RNG? 😭
Right now, we can only use seasonal decks to do seasonal endgames such as great rift.
I really wish that in the future we'd be able to either
A. Use our old decks to do seasonal endgames
B. Have chaos grinding less tedious

-The game is designed by people who are afraid of you breaking the game which is the whole fun of roguelite deckbuilder. The game genre already has an inbuilt limiter. Your action points. Despite that, the Devs decided to put a limit on EVERYTHING to stop you from being busted. The 'used' pile prevents anyone from going infinite. Items constantly have stack limits (imagine how much fun the Agony sword on Luke could be if it wasn't 1 per turn).
The busted characters are the ones that can get around these limits.
Overall, The game is closer to a team builder with RNG. When I went to play other roguelites, I remembered how fun the runs can be.
Here, the moment you lock in your team, you KNOW what you want, you KNOW what to expect.
I'll try to stick around to see if it gets better but I'm re-evaluating my relationship with this gacha game that's slowly feeling like a chore.
As much as I hate to admit it, The burn out is because the game simply is not that good IMO.Farming for save data feels bad because the main gameplay isn't fun. In any other roguelite, the run IS the fun. You don't know what to expect and stumble into busted combos. The game design here hinders that. For example:
- Characters have fixed roles during a run. Because Characters have stats, you would never deviate from that or you would sabotage the run. Why would you ever want Mika's Whirlpool when it does no damage due to low attack stats? Why pick Epiphany that give resolve if you don't have a shielder?
- Chaos dungeons have fixed solutions. E.g. Void Chaos asks for multi-hitting or void element. Why would you ever run a team or pick epiphanies that deviate from that?
- Seasonal content ask you to run the same dungeon at least 4 times a week. As per above, that means you're running the same team repeatedly.
Getting the same deck with a few new seasonal cards meaning requiring you to spend many hours again, just seems very time consuming.

Also, imo reroll isn't that broken as long as you put a restrain on how many times you can do it.
@S1761391596334311 I'm not even speedruning, I have tons of battle mission that I haven't done, and have only ± 300K on great rift. Haven't even done diff 10 of lab 0.
I'm trying to get better deck for some characters like luke & cassius, but yea kinda tired right now lol
I know teresa is op and all but I don't plan on playing her, wishing that I can put a use of my luke, kayron, and renoa to an extend. But they just don't seems to work for now...
I did saw an interesting decks around kayron and his team on youtube, OTK 9/9 nebula, but man does that deck requires a very expensive deck. Just looking at it already making me tired
And yea I don't plan of running too many combatants, I'd be running out of resources before I can use for the future combatants. My problem was never really getting bored of how the combatant's mechanics works anyway, It's more of chaos starting to feel like a chore to do. A combatant usually have multiple ways to play, but u still need the right epiphanies for it
I felt burn out before like 2 weeks ago but now I'm having fun again by not chasing anything and try out new combos. Try running chaos with team that is outside your comfort zone. Rotate in some dude you haven't got a clue how to build yet, put some chick you have been neglected into your team and run with it. People playing the game like they speedrun to uninstall the game and forgot to have fun.
If you could use your decks that you already farmed and like you said are the best thing you can get, then why would you want to really play the game in future seasons? You would just faceroll everything, unless they make specific mechanics in season 2 that makes you require new characters or cards to even clear.
So at least from my standpoint it absolutely makes sense to require us to make new savedata in future seasons while also having some content in the game, where you can still use the god-data we farmed, as long as there aren't too many seasons and they are different.
About randomness: I think most players agree that a skip on the epiphany would be a good (and probably easy to implement) optimization. A reroll sounds nice, but I think it leads to everyone having god-tier savedata on a daily basis. So it sounds nice, but ultimatively I don't think it would be good for the game long-term, as long as it stays this way that you don't need god-tier decks to clear.
@S1761184070918311 yeah, this would be great but probably requires more effort for them since there are a lot of epiphanies(?) They might have to do bunch of research to make sure the characters/cards get similiar treatments.
@Gllty yeah, tbh I haven't really done that cuz it kinda make me feels guilty? lol but I will probably be doing it later.
In addition, I do have a suggestion in mind for them. Probably will take time to implement (if they do intend on doing it) but I sure hope they make something out of it...

Yes, the biggest problem right now is the fact that some epiphanies are absurdly better than others, ( Tressa heal Daggers, Mei Lin "move", Hugo initiation thing, etc ); You might not like this, but the best thing to do is probably to take advantage of the mechanics, (spam reset into earlly remove);
It would be great if we could reroll epiphanies and card copies a few times a day.
+ Make other epiphanies more useful and competitive, to make it so that even if players don't get BIS epiphanies, they are still happy and alright with it .
