Speed cheats are everywhere now.

Most people are running maps at 5x speed, and it’s actually a built-in cheat from a VPN company trying to make money. The devs only blocked the VPN’s IPs a while ago, but it didn’t work. They have ways to bypass the official restrictions — it’s a big company doing this.

I’m really frustrated for everyone who worked hard for the leaderboard, and I hope the devs notice this issue.

And how effective is this speedup? Considering the huge number of events, the need to manually select upgrades, and the inability of auto-battle to win a normal battle, it's unlikely to give you x5 speed. Maybe 20% faster. So don't be too upset, especially since the e7 team regularly bans players. The risk isn't worth it.
