A free mode to try before committing [3]
I wish there was a free mode or a tutorial mode for characters so even with characters you don't own, you'll be able to try them out. An official 3-5 minute showcase/guide video explaining in-depth about how a specific character works would be nice too.
Too often you might hear players discuss the cards, epiphanies and strategies of a character you don't own and there's little reason to engage in conversation. You just work on what you have.
The 80% unit cost reduction is a step in the right direction but that doesn't solve the core issue.
You need to make it easier for players to experiment with characters and team comps. Otherwise, players will keep to only a small part of what CZN has to offer, using maybe 6 to 8 characters. Why bother for more? I already know it takes months per character to get good memory fragment equips, easily more if you're unlucky, from my experience playing HSR/Genshin/etc. It's only a matter of time before players get bored of playing the same team over and over again.
It's not good that you have to invest a week to 2 weeks into a character's build(potentials/levels/promotions/partner/chaos runs) just to get a good feel for a character.
Also, I'm saying that this is JUST to get a feel for the character, that 1 to 2 week of investment is only to get the bare minimum of memory fragment to feel out the character, you still have to farm MONTHS more PER character to get the correct sub stat THEN hope that it goes to the correct substat when you level it.
I hate the memory fragment system so much. Severely hinders players from being able to try out and experiment with cool team comps or trying out stupid silly comps in your game which is not good for replayability and player retention.

I really would like to play with different characters in a true rogue like setting. It's bothersome that potential and memory fragments affect chaos runs, I would love them to not affect them at all and rebalance them, or some game mode that allows that. Currently I'm playing with the exact same team over and over what gets super boring because they are the only ones with sufficient potential and memory fragments, I'm essentially not allowed to switch if I wanna keep running chaos on a decent level,
I also would like a trial mode for a character, be it a chaos run where you earn no rewards at all but can freely pick prebuilt characters. I actually love playing with preset team in the trauma code mode, that could be a good way introducing such systems.
Yeah of course a 5 minute tutorial won't give you a good understanding.
For example, I have no idea how Hugo/MeiLin/Renoa work, literally zero understanding because I don't own them and I'm not about to sit and listen to a 15 minute detailed guide for each of them to get a good understanding of the character. I just want a taste to see if the character has a playstyle I'd enjoy playing. Once I can confirm that, I'll go and look for those detailed guides to get a good understanding of that character.
That's where a showcase video focused on things that are possible with the character regarding their epiphanies in a short 5 minute video comes in.
And having to run an hour long Chaos at a low level Chaos to get a feel for a character is a scuffed solution at best. Sure, maybe I end up like playing that new character at the low level Chaos stuff but that doesn't always mean I'll enjoy them in the endgame stuff or if you'll be able to replicate it in the endgame stuff.
You don't need perfect substats in the memory fragments, focus on getting the correct main attributes on the right side and your build will be good enough. Five-minute tutorials aren't going to give you a good understanding of the character anyway, but I agree that a trial mode would be useful (for now we only have the Trauma Code for that). "It's not good to need to invest two weeks to get a feel for the character." The point is: you don't need to, it doesn't make sense for you to say that and suggest a 3-5 minute guide (when there are several on YouTube...Inclusive full runs of chaos/codex.) To get a feel for a character, give him build from another character, assemble a team, and throw some chaos at the character's current level.
